Morning Meanderings…. Books and Such… oh – and Undesireable #1

Good morning!  😀

32 degrees here this morning in Minnesota…… thirty-two….

They are talking snow and rain for the rest of this week.  Uggghhhhh… it is snowing right now….

Oh come on Spring!!!

*my heart sinks with the weight of waiting for weather I can bike in*

So…. change of subject – lets talk books. 😀

I visited the Monday What Are You reading Monday between time I had on Monday and then finished yesterday evening.  Wow…. there are good books out there.

At Serendipity, Vivienne wrote a review on an interesting looking book called A Year Without Autumn by Liz Kessler.

At The Eclectic Reader, Sheree read and reviewed Stay by Deb Caletti that seems so SSQQUUUEEEE worthy I am looking for that one now!

At “And Anything Bookish“. Kim had a post up about Sarah Dessen’s book What Happens To Good Bye.  I have only experienced Dessen once but liked it very much and this one sounds as though it may be my next Dessen stop.

At Kristen’s Book Nook, she had a review of Bossy Pants by Tina Fey.  I have watched and wondered about this book from afar.  I find Tina Fey to be really fun and have enjoyed movies she is in.

Library says YES to all 😛 except a Year Without Autumn…. 😦 they do not have that one.

Oh and finally I heard about this in my travels too…. there is a website called Magic Is Mite, News From The Ministry Of Magic.  This site has updated posts regarding the search for well….. undesirable #1….. (the site is hilarious) and a must view for all you Potter heads out there.  (Uhhhh…. not me of course….. I am posting this for you….)

Ok – I have to get ready for work.  I have a pinched nerve in my back which is ridiculously annoying and makes me walk a bit like the hunchback of Notre Dame.  Well then….life – is never dull 😛

  1. Ooh, I can relate to the back issues….Yikes, hope yours is just a pinched nerve!

I’m sorry about your weather, but it’s a good thing that reading doesn’t require sunshine!

  2. We had hail last night, then snow, then rain and a thunderstorm! Ah, spring in Southern Ontario! I also discovered What Happens To Good Bye yesterday and I just have to read it!

  3. LOL – A Year Without Autumn won’t be out in the US until September I think. I have two copies to give away internationally on Goodreads though. Sorry. Thanks for the link though.

Should I tell you I am sitting here in shorts and a vest top, eating an ice lolly. No?

  4. I’m so sorry it’s still so cold in your part of the country. Summer has arrive and spring was just pretty much skipped over here. It’s already too hot. Not pleased and no rain and wildfires. Most concerning.

Hope your back feels better soon. Take it easy, Sheila!

  5. Pinched nerves are such a pain! 🙂 Seriously though, I hope yours feels better soon.

We’ve had our first truly nice weather of spring this week and I’m curious how long it’s going to last. It was sunny all day yesterday so we grilled (even though it was in the 50s, so not too warm). We’ve had a couple of warmer days, but here in Oregon almost every spring day is rainy – so a dry day was a treat.

I really want Year Without Autumn too.

  6. We have rain nearly every day, but at least we don’t have to shovel it. Sorry about your back; I’ve been there and it ain’t fun. I hope spring comes soon to Minn. and that our temps get a little higher.

    1. Well… at least there is that… I have not had to mow 😀 Of course – I like to mow as I listen to audio while I do so and that is like three hours of undiluted audio a week all spring, summer, and fall….

  7. There are some wonderful books to be found out there and It’s Monday! is a great way of finding them 🙂

I hope the pinched nerve goes away soon, I know what that can feel like!
