Morning Meanderings: Did You Know There Is A Readathon coming?

Good morning!

I have about a 14 minute window here before I need to shower, pick up Chance, get to Church, sell Banquet Tickets for all three services… then I am going to come home and attempt to make this:

Crock pot pizza pasta.  If it works, I will share the recipe next Saturday for Weekend Cooking.  If it doesn’t… we will pretend this never happened.  😛

The Dewey Read-A-Thon is coming April 9th.  This 24 hour read-a-thon is a wonderful event and I plan to participate as much as I can.  I do have a charity auction I need to participate in on that day but a book will be going with me 🙂  I have participated in the last 4 of these read a thons and they are a BLAST!  Not only is there reading but there are mini challenges, prizes, cheerleaders (yes – this event even comes with cheerleaders!)

I really can not say enough positive about this.  Go over to the Dewey Read A Thon website, check it out and sign yourself up for fun!  😀

Yipes got to run!  😀

  1. Sheila, you really are wonder woman! I swear I don’t know when you get the time to just sit and read all these books! 🙂

I am off to sign up for the event now – I didn’t think I’d be able to make it this year (I was a cheerleader last year) but it turns out I can and I think I’d like to be cheered on my someone else this year and enjoy the event 🙂

  2. Oh, I love crockpot things…hope it does work! But I need to buy a new crockpot (remember, I lost mine in the divorce! LOL).

I should really participate in the read-a-thon…I haven’t yet, because I always find my focus is split by other things.

        1. I am making it today (Monday) it needed 6 hours of crock pot time and by the time I got home from church on Sunday it was 1:30…. I actually brought the crock pot to work with me and assembled it during my first break….. should be done at 5:00 pm….. looks YUM!

          1. That cracks me up that you took the crock pot (and ingredients) to work so you could assemble it there! Makes sense, though, I guess. I look forward to your report. 🙂

  3. I’m going to attempt the read-a-thon again, but this time I will limit myself to cheerleading AFTER the fact, because I found myself so caught up in visiting the blogs and seeing what was going on that I didn’t get very much reading done! 🙂

  4. Great to hear you’re also in the read-a-thon. It will be my second time and I’m really looking forward to it. Like you, I have something else going on the same day (a literary festival afternoon) but a book will be taken along with me!

Hope the pizza works. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

  5. Can’t wait to hear about the crock pot pizza. I will be on vacation during the read-a-thon. Not sure how much internet access I will have, but will check in if I can.

  6. I can’t wait to find out if the recipe turns out. It looks delicious!

I’m excited for Dewey’s as well! I have 2 library sales that day, I think, but I will be reading as my mom drives, etc. Also, if you missed my save the date post, I’m having my seasonal read-a-thon, Spring’s Serenity Read-A-Thon, on April 25 through May 1. I’ll have the sign-up ready at the end of this month or early April. Hope you will join me again!

  7. Ah! I nearly forgot about that coming up. I wish it was the weekend before though so it hooks onto my spring break. But I guess I can’t everything my way, can I? 🙂

    1. I think the weekend before would work better for me too…. oh, no it wouldn’t that’s home show weekend… and the weekend after is girls weekend… yup… guess it doesn’t matter when it is 😛

  8. You are always so busy – please wire me some of your energy!

I have signed up for this read-a-thon and i am piling up the books in anticipation trying to figure out what i am going to get through on the day. Family are alerted to the fact that i may not answer the phone!!! It’s going to be a great day!

    😀

Hmmmm... what do you think?
