Literary Blog Hop

This is a sticky post – all new posts are below 😀

My friend Judith at Leeswammes has put together this 4 day Literary Giveaway HOP.  I am thrilled to share in this opportunity for you to win a great book and think I put together a pretty good selection here:

Sadly, many on this grouping I have not read myself.  To enter this giveaway leave a comment here on which of these 8 books you would like to win.  If you are my winner (drawn with random.org on February 24th) I will ship you the book directly from Amazon and if I have not read it myself, I will order one for me as well.  I love win, win….LOL

This book giveaway is open to US only.  If you are out of the US and have access to order from Amazon, you are welcome to participate and if you are the winner I will email you a $10 gift card from Amazon instead.

Make sure you pop on in and see the rest of the hop at Leeswammes’ Blog!

  1. I would pick The Hiding Place becuase it’s one of my favorite books yet, sadly, I do not have a copy of it! Corrie Ten Boom is such an inspirational person!

  2. Great giveaway! I’ve read all but three of these so I guess that’s pretty good. 🙂 I loved The Hiding Place when I read it as a teen. Corrie’s story is so moving. I read A Prayer for Owen Meany in college. I’ve got a copy of it somewhere but I seem to have misplaced it.

I’ve watched A Room With A View (the newer version) but never read the book. I’m trying to read more classics and I’d love to win a copy of this. Thanks for having the giveaway.

  3. I’ve been collecting different editions of To Kill A Mockingbird, and don’t have the one with Scout on the cover! So I’d pick that one! 🙂 Love that story!

    Happy Saturday, my friend!

  4. I’m torn between The Giver (haven’t read it) and A Prayer for Owen Meany (an all-time favorite that I’ve been wanting to re-read but don’t own). I guess I’ll go with The Giver.

      1. It’s a real pleasure organizing this event, Sheila.

I can receive books from Amazon.com but that costs about $8 in postage, so that’s a too much. Book Depository would work (no postage), but they don’t have gift cards. You (the giver) would have to order the book for the winner and have it sent to their address.

  5. I’ve read everyone except for The Thirteenth Tale, which is a shame because I’ve heard great things about it. Thanks for the chance to win!

  6. First choice is The Thirteenth Tale…sounds like my kind of book
Second choice is A Prayer For Owen Meany

I’ve read the rest…all great ones! Thanks for the chance!

  7. I’ll go with ‘The Giver’.

If you haven’t read the “The Thirteenth Tale, please do. My cousin loved it so much that she mailed it to me and I thought it was great too.

  8. Hey Sheila, great group of books here. I own most of them (psst, haven’t read them either *hangs head in shame*), except for The Giver, which I haven’t read either. So please put me down for The Giver and thanks for the chance!

  9. I have read all of these and each one if spectacular! I would very much like to win A ROOM WITH A VIEW by E.M. Forster as I have no idea where my copy went.

  10. This is a great selection of books. It is hard to pick.

I guess it has been 20 years since reading To Kill a Mockingbird. I would also like to own my own copy.

    Thanks, Judy

  12. Ohh how much fun! There are some fantastic books here! I would love to read The Things They Carried. This has been on the TBR list for far to long! 🙂

  13. Thank you for this great giveaway! I’ve read half of the books on the list and loved them, but I would love to have a copy of The Thirteenth Tale. I’ve heard so many great things about it and have yet to get a chance to read it.

  14. You’ve got some great books lined up for the giveaway! I loved ‘Owen Meany’ and To Kill a Mockingbird is a fav too. I would have loved to enter for The Giver ’cause
my international literary giveaway is about a twelve-year-old as well! But since I live in Europe I’ll just take you up on your offer of a gift card! 🙂

  15. Great list! I too have sadly not read them all, though I’ve wanted to and some point in my life. The Giver is one of my favorite books of all time!

I would love to read A Room With A View or The Hiding Place. Thanks!

  16. I have read all but 2, you really should read them! The 2 I have not read are The Hiding Place and The Things They Carried. Either is fine. Thanks for the giveaway!

  17. I have been itching to read A Room With a View. Sadly, I haven’t read all of these books either. But I will – someday!

  18. I would adore a copy of “The Thirteenth Tale”. I loved it but my copy was from the library. I would love to re-read. Thanks for the giveaway…great selection.

  20. Great comp! I am not entering as I don’t live in the US (and $10 wouldn’t even cover postage from the US to Australia!) but thought I would stop by anyway 🙂 SO impressed with the literary blog hop giveaways! I hope your winner chooses a book you have not read! Enjoy.

  21. I’d love to receive “The Things They Carried.” I’ve read all the other ones on your list, except “A Room With a View,” which I just picked up for free on Kindle. 🙂

  22. I have not yet read, but would very much like to read, The Things They Carried. Please enter me into the contest! Thanks so much.

  23. Oh man, great selection of books! I’d love to win A Little Princess… I was just thinking the other day about how I want to read that soon. 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win!

  24. How cool! I would love to win The Giver because it is an absolute masterpiece that I want to read again and again.

    Thanks for the giveaway 🙂

  25. My main preference would probably be The Things They Carried. It’s one of the only ones I haven’t already read and/or own. I’d love to win! And, I love that you will order for yourself also! Such a great idea!

  26. I have read all but two of these! I think I’d go with A Prayer for Owen Meany if I won, it’s one of my sil’s favorite books. Thanks!

  27. Any of them except To Kill a Mockingbird and The Hiding Place. I read them both many, many years ago. Thanks for the chance.

  28. The Thirteenth Tale looks amazing i just read a couple of reviews and cannot wait to get my hands on a copy. Have you read it?

  29. Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂 Great book choices!

I would like to win A Little Princess since it’s probably the only book I haven’t had the pleasure of reading yet! 🙂

  30. You are so generous! If I was the winner, I would definitely pick “The Giver.” I’ve heard such good things about it and it sounds like a “must read” book.
