Good morning.
Did 6:30 am come early for anyone else today?
(I am not going to mention that I was up until almost 1 a.m. with my nose in a good book.)
I heard my cell phone text tone and it popped me out of a bed. In a groggy shuffle I made my way to the kitchen and with one eye (I could only spare one, the other was still asleep) I checked the message.
*work out at 3:30 today*
Ok…
This is good. I am a little ( A LOT!) sore from yesterdays adventures back into Group Power and it would be easy for me to skip the workout today so I could recover chill a bit after work.
However…. this little text…
puts my day into overdrive.
I work at 8 am…. I need to get moving on that.
I work until 3 pm and then will hit the gym from 3:30 – 4:30 and then drive home by 4:45.
I have a fifteen minute window to prep dinner for Chance and Al.
At 5 pm two of my friends who I have not hung out with in a long while, Ruth and Colleen are coming over to pick me up so we can go and hang out and catch up over dinner.
While I am thrilled to see them, my day has become so full I am exhausted before I even begin.
How do you juggle it when it is all good things like this?
I am not whining….
I don’t really know what I am doing besides chilling with COFFEE CUP and thinking…. really, I need to get moving.
So – verdict? Whelmed. Yes, I feel whelmed. Not over whelmed…. but right on the edge. 😛

I totally know the feeling. We’re in the middle of a giant snowstorm — well, just between two giant storms — and the prospect of getting to work and then having to drive home from work is making me feel whelmed. Good luck with your busy day!
OOh be careful driving Kim!
in chicago we are waiting for a blizzard…none of that will hit you? if it does..you were whelmed for nothing!
NO word of a blizzard here Diana…. and oh so thankful! 😀 Have a safe and WARM day!
What a jam packed day you have! I have the day off due to bad weather so I thought I’d catch up on reading and work on some reviews. I hope you have a great day and find some time to relax in between all the activity. Enjoy your time with your friends! It is always nice to catch up.
Christina it was a really nice day – thank you. Although it was super busy I did have a great work day, work out, and friends time. 😀
I’m not moving from this house for two days. Thank heaven I’m retired because it’s snowing so hard I can’t see beyond our pond, the plow isn’t going by very often because there’s no school, and this will be followed by sleet and ice. Good time to read and write, don’t you think?
OOH I miss days like that – all snowed in with nothing you can do – no errands to run… just surrounding yourself with hot cocoa and lots of delicious books!
And I was feeling “grumbly” about having an appt. at 10 a.m., which means getting off the computer soon to grab a shower, etc.
It’s a “good” appt., too, so what’s my problem? LOL
Yesterday was a day I could curl up and read, so I did get to do that all day long. That should satisfy me….
I think my feeling today is part of the after effects of thirty years of getting up at 5 a.m. and working long hours in a stress factory called social work…LOL
I just want to veg out for a decade or so….
I love veg days Laurel – they are my favorite… I run so much that a day with no commitments is so wonderful!
I feel the pain. My day may be a bit whelming too!
Hang in there Suey – keep your eye on the goal! 😀 (A little advice I got from reading Racing In The Rain)
I feel overwhelmed all the time these days and just do what I can the best I can.
Kathy glad you are just doing what you can… that’s really all we can do.
I take a deep breath and move. 🙂
I don’t know how you do it! I got up at 5am to go walking, but I went to bed at 9:30. lol
Good job getting up early to walk Debbie – I would like to get in a habit like that!
My day is busy like that too – except I was woken up by an alarm at 6:30 (so I could wake my husband up and then go back to sleep for a half hour). I had to reschedule my day because of an unanticipated trip to the vet (kitty is fine but needed to be seen). So it was/will be: drop kids at school, vet, teach flute lessons, practice flute, lunch, pick up kid from school, throw roast in the oven, buy supplies for cub scouts project and school fundraiser, work on homework & cub scouts project with kids, finish dinner, clean kitchen, put kids to bed, write a review for a book tour this week, and then probably watch The Daily Show with my husband.
Right now is my 15 minute blog reading break that somehow stretched to 20 minutes. Oops!
Alyce I often read you r blog and think you are sooooo busy! 😀
If I had kids at home (other than Chance) I would be spinning in circles!
Whelmed? Whelmed? I feel overwhelmed just sneak peaking on your day…I have said this before…how do you do this and keep on going? I know you thrive on this but do you ever feel as though you should just hibernate for a month? You truly amaze me…I know that you love this pace but…I need a nap after reading about your day…have a good one…maybe get to bed earlier tonight…but then…you have to go put wood in the furnace at midnight…that scares me!!! Go, Sheila!!!
I have to have down time Patty… have too… its like it is written in my DNA. I work hard and play hard and then…. about once a week I need to just get away from everyone and everything or I just become exhausted. I usually try to keep a weekend day free to do nothing but unwind…. too busy weekends make me crabby. 😀
Made me anxious just reading about it! Hope it all turned out for the best.
Thanks Shelly 😀 I made it through the day but now at 10:46 pm I am shot and going to bed. 😀
I’m regularly amazed by how much you accomplish.
Seems like I have super crazy busy days Hannah – and then I will plan a day (usually on the weekend) where I do nothing. Its easier to do that in the winter than in the summer though…. the outside calls to me 😀
That’s definitely true (easier in winter than in summer) — even for me, and the outdoors doesn’t call to me like it does to you!
I definitely have those days, where it’s one thing after another. On Mondays and Wednesdays now I stay at school until 7:30 to teach parents how to use computers and Microsoft programs. I get home, watch TV shows with the hubby (that’s our together time some days) and then pass out in bed.
I hate over structured days Kristen! 😀
