Morning Meanderings… Bloggiesta Day Three

Good Morning! Hello to my little friend – COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE  😎

Yesterday was a pretty good day as well as I continued work on the Bloggiesta.  Between house cleaning, a little reading, and an afternoon movie – I managed to put in 6 hours for a total of 16 hours in the past two days.

Today being the big finale what I most want to do is visit other participants.  I love visiting new blogs.  I have a little more sidebar work to do and a couple of post ideas to finalize but I feel good about what has been accomplished.  I will post my wrap up tonight before I put up the Monday, What Are You Reading meme.

I hope everyone who has participated this time is having a lot of fun!  I think this time around is the first time I didn’t have a lot of internal work to do…. mainly, I have spent this Bloggiesta working on updating and future posts.  Two things I have wanted to be working on for a while now but did not have the time.

Now here is my early morning funny happening.  At 6:03 a, my cell phone rings.  It is in the kitchen on the counter but I can hear it from my bedroom.  I drag myself out of bed and fumble my way to the phone .  I check to see whose call I missed and it was my Pastor.  I dial back thinking something must be going on, first service starts at 8:15, maybe something is needed, there was an accident (my imagination is vivid!).  He answers the phone and I ask him what’s up.

He says, “Did I call you?”

“You did.”  I say.

“That’s weird,” he says, “this phone rarely does that, did I wake you?”

“Yes, but that’s ok, I thought maybe something happened.”

He laughs, “Nope…. sorry about that.”

I laugh and in a strained high-pitched voice I say, “Are you calling everyone?”

“Yes,” he responds.  “Just trying to drum up some first service attendees.”

LOL.  I LOVE my church.

Have a great morning everyone.  I am up now and going to make the most of it 😀

  1. LOL @ the phone call. My dad “pocket dials” me quite frequently, though he always denies it (in his gruff old man voice). “That’s simply not possibly!” he insists. He’s rather anti-technology and has a love/hate relationship with his cell phone. I think the fact that it can do something with no action from him is rather unnerving. 😀

    Have a lovely Sunday!

  2. That is funny! And a great idea to get people to come to the early service 🙂

I hope you have a great morning and that you were able to accomplish your Bloggiesta goals.

I got up at 6:30 this morning. I had meant to get up at 6 to put two more hours into the challenge. Oh, well.

  3. Sounds like a great way to wake up…LOL

After he apologized, did you say: “I had to get up to answer the phone”?

I was checking out your sidebar and noticed the What Are You Writing Today? meme. Sounds intriguing.

Have a great and productive day.

    1. LOL – he would have been on his way into the Church Laurel, they set there about 6 am to prep.

I am glad you seen the Meme that Brooks is doing. I am going to promote it when I do the Monday reading meme tonight. 😀

  4. I marvel at your ability to get up so early. I would have gone back to sleep. Granted , if it was my usual schedule as of late I would have only been asleep for about an hour to an hour and a half before the phone rang. I do so miss a “normal” sleep schedule.

Any news on Wordshakers? Yes I am excited to begin again!

  5. Ooh, I wouldn’t have liked to have been woken that early by a phone call myself…especially on a Sunday morning. I probably wouldn’t have been laughing, but then again our priest probably wouldn’t be awake either that early. 🙂

Bloggiesta this time has been pretty good. At least, I got one thing accomplished and did a little bit on another. Plus I got to meet you, so hey, that’s good too. Well, I think so anyway ;).

    1. Good you got things accomplished on Bloggiesta – I wasn’t sure what I would get done but I am pretty pleased with what I accomplished.

And… AHHHH! How nice of you to say! Nice meeting you too! 🙂

  6. Feeling a sense of accomplishment is so great is it not?

I made my main goal of changing templates.

I’ve kept track of some of my Bloggiesta work by updating my Friday kickoff post but both my Saturday and Sunday post are on the theme as well.

That What are You Writing meme looks intriguing. But it would have to be on Monday! I was thinking of looking for another weekly writing meme or start one myself but I was hoping for a different day as I don’t think I can manage two posts plus the visiting in one day.

I dropped out of a Friday fiction writing meme and a Monday poetry reading/writing meme over a year ago and part of my Bloggiesta musing was about getting involved again if they are still going or finding substitutes. My hope was to make each day of the week a different theme/topic so I’d always know what my post was going to be about and so not spend the first hour sitting if front of a blank screen with a blank brain.

hmm maybe I could do a single Monday post called What are Your Reading/Writing? and spread the visiting over several days. 🙂

sorry thinking with my fingers here. probably not the place to be doing it. i get chatty when I’ve been awake for over 20 hours. otherwise I’m a lurker on and off line. there is seldom an in between. LOL

  7. I think the pastor’s call would have had the opposite of the desired effect on me! Very creative of him though 🙂
