Good Morning!  Thursday already?  And even scarier…. it is the 20th of January…..

where did the first month of 2011 go???

I am up early today so I can get into work and get started before  I have to leave for  a quick 8:30 appointment and I want to get to that and get back as quickly as possible.

Seems like I am always juggling time.

Tonight I am going to go out and chat with my cousins and I am pretty excited about that!  I have 4 female cousins that all live in the area, all pretty close to my age and we just never get together.  I think that is like most families right?  We all have our own “stuff” going on and we just don’t take the time.

I ran into (not literally) my cousin Cheryl at Ski Gull last Saturday and this was her suggestion.  She said it was a lot of work when we try to put on the big family gatherings and what if we tried something smaller – like a monthly connection with just us girls?  I liked the idea and she text me yesterday to say it is a go for tonight!

I am pretty excited mainly because I really appreciate family and we do really not get a lot of time together.  I hope to catch up with all of them – a couple I have not really seen in over a year.

Quick bookish news – and please do not harm me for sharing this link…. BOOKCLOSEOUTS.COM sends out a sale email a few times a year and the January one arrived yesterday.  This link is for books that are no more that $3.00.  I purchased from them for the first time almost a year ago… I bought around 15 books off a sale like this – some of the titles fairly new, and I received a box of books for an amazing price and they were in excellent condition – no stickers or anything.

On that note… got to fly and start my day!

  5. I hope you have a fabulous evening with your cousins! The same thing happens with me…don’t seem my cousins because our lives are hectic. I like the monthly girl get together idea…hope that happens for you beyond this evening.

  7. I am an only child, and I am very close to my girl-cousins. They were like my older big sisters and I used to adore going to see them because I got to go through their clothes and get some hip new stuff! (early 70s you understand!) I still adore them! In fact, I think I’ll call them tonight!

  8. Oh, your post stirred up some nostalgia for me…back when we were young, my cousins and I all lived in the same area. Every Sunday, we got together (the cousins) at our grandmother’s house.

    Later, the girl cousins got together for summer sleepovers under the stars. That’s when we lived in the town where we grew up.

    I moved away, but then, for awhile, I had a few cousins in this city. Now I realize that none of them live in this area any longer. Around the mid-nineties, they all moved to other locales. I see them mainly at funerals these days, which is not a great reason for a get-together.

    But I like to reminisce about those days gone by….

  9. How jealous would you be if I told you that I live a hop, skip and jump from that place? Well maybe a couple miles. A couple times a year they have box sales, whatever you can jam in a big box for $30. They have to hire someone to direct traffic on those days.
