It’s Saturday. I am sitting at my kitchen table still in pj’s…. having my coffee and sulking…
just a little bit.
This morning I will be helping to take a group of teenagers to Ski Gull to go tubing. Ski Gull is our local ski resort and somehow, at some point, my mouth formed the words, “if you need any help…”
Yup. I only have myself to blame.
First know this – I don’t really do snow. This time of year, I am really an inside girl.
Snow is cold, unpredictable, slippery, wet, soft and hard at the same time….. did I mention it is cold?
I need to find my mittens. DO I own mittens?
And does this make me a tuber? AND isn’t a tuber a potato????

Ok – I whine but it may be a good time and it may be good for me to do this. Tubing is fun, I did it once a couple of years ago with some friends and I admit I did have a blast. SO we shall see – and there will probably be pictures. And in a week I promised to go with a couple friends and learn to ski… so you know…
snow happens.
I guess I have to deal with it.

Oh, I completely agree about snow…while it’s gorgeous to look at (preferably through a window when one is curled up by a fire!), I can’t think of much else to recommend it.
As a teenager, though, I did my share of tobogganing, etc.; snowboarding hadn’t yet become the rage.
I’m too chicken to snowboard or ski! I might break a leg….
Hey, I loved that potato image, with all the good ingredients listed…who knew?
I know right Laurel? Maybe I do want to be a tuber. Apparently I would be fat free, low in calories, and full of vitamin C. Whats not to love? LOL
I’m not a fan of the cold at all, but I’m sure you’ll have fun with all of those teenagers!
Kathy I bet I come back all beaten up and sore…. LOL
mashed potato?
Better mashed than scalloped.
YIPES! You are right Jill! That sounds more like a ski injury then a tubing one! GAH! 😛
Oh you will have fun, I am certain!!!! Tuber or not!
Thanks Rebecca!
I feel your pain. I am not a snow person either…or really a winter person in general. I will say though, that snow skiing, boarding, and tubing are extremely fun activities if you are properly cocooned in long underwear, parkas, mittens, ear muffs, stocking caps, scarves, snow boots, snow suit, etc. And someone must have hot chocolate waiting inside for when you need a break. 🙂
I bought snow pants yesterday Trisha…. and it looks to be hitting a high of 10 degrees today. “YAY!” LOL
Thanks so much Sheila for volunteering with the teens. I’m sure you will have a good time. And there is a warming house with hot coco. See you tonight.
Thanks Tara! 😀
What am I forgetting about tonight? Where am I suppose to be?
I love snow, as long as I don’t have to drive in it!
Have a great time! 🙂
You get used to the driving Nikki-ann. At least I guess some of us do… others drive like they have never seen snow before…. they drive like 10 mph…. so annoying. 😀
That’s really funny that you live in Minn. and don’t like snow and cold. I’m staying in my nice warm house today looking out the window at a snow squall. I knew Dave shouldn’t have gone out with the snowblower yesterday – now the wind has picked up again and he’ll have to start all over. 😦 I do hope you have fun tubing though. I’ll think of you while I watch the Steelers game.
Nice! I am back now and while there was a trip to the emergency room – it wasn’t me 😀
My favorite part of skiing is relaxing in the lodge with cocoa and book! 🙂
I would like that part too Reagan – where do I sign up? 😀
I don’t do snow either!!! I’d rather look at it all pretty and white from inside the house cuddled up with a blankie and a good book! 😀
YES! Books and blankets – the very best part of winter 😀
I never learned how to ski but I did learn how to Snowboard and got decent at it ~ that is until I had surgeries on both my knees back in College. I read your posts out of order, but did’t I read on your Sunday post that you signed up for a Snow Challeng where you have to wear a prom dress/?????? Silly
You did read that Patricia…. Polar Plunge – there is a link to it on my left sidebar 🙂
Wow, you are brave to volunteer for this. Hope you got your cup of hot cocoa later!
It was pretty cold out Kathleen but it was fun 🙂
