Good morning!
Oh? You are curious about the bomb?
I have decided to blow up my reading list this week and do a re – read of a book I really can’t believe I did not consider for this week. In honor of this week’s release of the final Harry Potter movie, I have decided to set aside the previously planned reading by a few days to celebrate one of my all time favorite series….
Hopefully Chance (Kinship Partner) and I will be attending the modnight showing on Thursday night … errrr…. the wee hours of Friday morning. This is kind of a tradition with us except this time it will be a school day for him and a work day for me on Friday at 8 a.m. so we still are in the planning phases 🙂

I re-read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the 6th time last week in preparation for the movie. The re-read has made me even more excited about seeing the movie!!
That’s what I am thinking too Suzanne, I wish I would have thought of it sooner 😀
I was talking to my granddaughter on the weekend, and she is going to lend me the first one…just so I can decide if I want to read the rest.
Meanwhile, she’s making a costume and planning to really make an event of seeing this movie this weekend.
Laurel have you seen the first movie? That may help you with the first book. I know I seen the movie first before I read the book and I think that may have helped me wrap my heard around such things as Quidich 🙂
No re-reads or re-viewings planned for me this week. Enjoy, though!
Thanks Hannah! It has been a couple years since I read the final book and at the time it originally came out I read it twice in two weeks (once hurried to know what happens before someone told me and then a second time to really let the words sink in and impress upon my how well J K Rowling tied everything together). 😀
I’m really looking forward to the movie!
Me too Kathy! I think I may be more excited than Chance! 😀
I’d only read Deathly Hallows once; right when it came out a few years ago! So I was seeing all these previews and not 100% remembering the scenes — a re-read was a must. Finished it over the weekend & going to see the movie at midnight on Thursday! Soo excited!!!
Ahh, I typed my blog wrong:

There we go 🙂
Oh fun FloeticFlo! That is when I am hoping to go as well 🙂
I can’t wait to see the movie but will wait a few weeks for the crowds to die down.
I hear you Kathleen – the last time we did the midnight movie I thought we were insane but it was fun to see how people really get into it!
It’s kind of like history in the making…. movie release night 🙂
I’m so excited about the movie! I’m going to the midnight showing, but am already wondering how I’m going to function at work the next day. I’ve made a note in my calendar to go to bed REALLY EARLY the night before.
Good point Alita – you can always sleep after work 🙂
What a great idea!
We’re heading out on a trip Friday so we’ll miss the first week of the movie but will definitely see it after we get back! Re-reading Deathly Hollows would be perfect – I remember the very end but not a lot of what goes on in the middle!
Enjoy…
Sue
I remember the book arriving and I had set aside two days to read that book through and I finished before either of my teenagers – LOL 😀
I haven’t read any of the Harry Potter books full stop. I really should one day.
Nikki-ann, they really are a must read 🙂
Enjoy! I do miss going to the midnight showings. It was something I did for three of the movies, but have not managed since becoming a mom and thus requiring a babysitter at a very not nice hour. Have loads of fun!!!
Its crazy Kimberly know but that is why I think we like to do it. 😀
Nothing beats the energy of that first showing, imo. Yeah for getting to be crazy and having company along the way. 😀
;lol:
Good game changer – I do that all the time too!
I do too Amused – what I think is going to be appealing during the week sometimes isn’t and at times something new and shiny catches my eye and off I go in a completely different direction 🙂
I worked at an Amazon.com center several years ago and that’s were I discovered Harry Potter. Many of the books leaving the warehouse were either the first or second book.Harry got me into reading and I have to see the film to pay him back.Looking forward to it.

That is an awesome story Gerald! Harry Potter did wonders for my kids reading too so I guess I too owe him, and J K. 😀
Your post reminded me how great the book is and inspired me to re-read it before I go see the movie next week! I grew up with Harry and diligently read each book again in order before the newest one came out. I’ll be so depressed next summer when there’s no new Harry Potter book or movie to look forward to!
Liz it is one of those rare books where I remember where I was when I read it – when I waited for it, the first words… the page by page of familiar characters and I was so anxious and frightened at the same time as to what would become of my Hogwarts friends. 🙂
Oh yes…. I am that dorky. 😀
I’m super excited for the next HP movie installment to come out! I think you should reread at least the book, if not the whole series. I always see the movie and wish I had reread the book first so I remembered what was going on! 🙂
I wish I had time for the whole series Sami! I have been listening to them on audio this year and loving every one of them! I highly recommend the audios. 😀
I really should have reread it before the movie, but instead, I picked up as soon as I got home from the movie!
I am still working on it Amanda, I was even planning on taking it to the modnight showing and reading it while I was in line. 😀
