Good morning! I am off super early this morning – 4 am to be exact. I know I know…. I am a bit insane but I am moving around my office and as long as I am switching things around and I am getting new shelves installed on Saturday…… so to keep this run on sentence running…..
I am painting my room. 😀
AND I am going in so early so I can get the majority of it done before the office traffic starts to come in around 8 am and then I am in everyone’s way.
And you thought there was no method to my madness…. 😀
I am leaving you this morning with one of the promised recipes from my girls craft and baking weekend. A few years back my friend Cindy and I went to a community education cookie class where we paid $25 to work with a group and each make a cookie recipe that made 12 dozen cookies. There were 12 of us in the class and we each received a dozen of each of the cookies as well as the recipes to do them ourselves. My favorite that I could not keep my hands off of was the Snicker Surprise cookie.
This was the cookie I shared with my friends this past weekend, and now I will share it with you.
Snicker Surprise Cookie
2 sticks softened butter
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 bag SNICKERS Miniatures
1 cup milk chocolate chips (melted)
Combine the butter, peanut butter, and sugars using a mixer on a medium to low-speed until light and fluffy.
Slowly add eggs and vanilla until thoroughly combined. Then mix in flour, salt and baking soda.
Unwrap all the SNICKERS .
Divide dough into 1 tablespoon pieces and flatten. Place a SNICKERS in the center of each piece of dough. Form the dough into a ball around each SNICKERS .
Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 325 for 12-15 minutes.
Let cookies cool on baking rack or wax paper.
Melt milk chocolate and drizzle over cookies.
The first time I made these cookies I could hardly keep my hands off them – the gooey melted snickers inside this peanut buttery cookie is the perfect combination.

I’m horrible at baking though I always have the best intentions 😛 I love the sound of this recipe, though! Also, best of luck with painting!
Thanks Nymeth – the painting was fun and I really like the look of the office. 🙂 PIcs tomorrow.
Wow, those look so decadent! Thanks for sharing your recipe.
I hope you have a productive day today. It is my day off but I was wide awake at 5 despite my best efforts to sleep in.
Sure Christina 🙂 I am looking forward to the weekend 🙂
This sounds very yummy. I love Snickers on there own, let alone in a cookie. There goes my diet.
Yes – a dangerous cookie Vivienne! 😀
Oh, this one sounds wonderful, and not even that difficult! Ha-ha…I haven’t baked anything in the longest time. You don’t even want to know how long it’s been!
Have fun painting!
I am not a big baker either Laurel but with the girls it was fun…. we are already planning our cookies of choice for next year… I think we are talking a spritz cookie and for sure a gingerbread man recipe which will be fun!
This looks so incredibly nice and terribly bad for you. I am not sure my arteries could handle this. Because I wouldn’t just eat one biscuit. Or two. 🙂
Yup – they went right to the freezer once I got them home…. not as tempting to me when they are frozen 😀
I have to pick just one? If it’s a cookie and I have a cup of coffee, and no place to go..it is my favorite!
LOL Debbie – good to know! 😀
Those sound and look yummy! I have to make a batch and see just how yummy they really are ☺
Good Vicki- I hope you enjoy them 🙂
Yes, you are a bit insane to be up at 4AM (ha). I would rather be up UNTIL 4AM not just getting up at 4AM (ha). Thanks for the cookie recipe. It sounds “dangerous”! (another ha)
I didn’t want to be critiqued Kathleen – so I wanted to be all done painting by the time the staff came in at 9 am…. and I was 🙂
Those look really good! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Sure Alyce – they are super good! 😀
4am?! That’s like the middle of the night! Hehe.
Oh, those cookies looks great! I’m in the middle of eating a batch of flapjack (I take a couple of pieces to work with me every day), Hmm… maybe I should follow your lead and share the recipe.
Tis the season Nikki – yes, share the recipe 😀
Thank you for the recipe-I love cookie exchanges. I love hermits-and Mexican wedding cookies. chocolate chip straight out of the oven.
I just reviewed bon appetit desserts that has some amazing cookie recipes.
Enjoy its Esme – they are yummy!
Oh my goodness! Shelia this recipe is going to kill me…as well as my hubby who is in love with Snickers. Wow! So, definitely trying this recipe for the holidays.
If I had to pick a favorite cookie it would be my mom’s “Log Jams”. It’s a basic sugar cookie rolled into a log, then you push a well down the center and fill it with some type of preserves you really like (I love Blackberry!). Then you bake them and once they’re done you drizzle a little bit of powdered sugar glaze over the top. They are so so good!
Can you tell I’m dying for the holidays to be here already? 🙂
It is a dangerous one Danielle – I am not a big cookie fan or a snickers fan and I still enjoy these…. I think my issue is that I really am a big chocolate fan 🙂
OMG these sound to die for … definitely going to give them a go!! I actually love snickers too 🙂
They are super good Sherri!
Those look sooooo delicious!!
I think i just found my new favorite cookie =)
Enjoy them 😀
That is so cute. It seems to look like mallow. I think I should make some of this for our wedding anniversary but in a heart shape cookie. LOL. Thanks for the recipe.
OOH good idea Melanie!
This is one of the best, easy and cute cookie I’ve seen in my whole searching thing. I think some sprinkles on the top kids will surely love to eat all of them.
