Good morning! I had a wonderful weekend with the girls at our cabin. It was our first weekend where we planned a baking and crafting weekend and it turned out fantastic. Here are a few pics:

We had so much fun baking! We each brought a cookie recipe to make enough so each of us could have 3 or 4 dozen to take home and freeze for the Holidays.

I did not realize I was clinging to Sara’s hand until after I seen the pictures…. well… we were standing on little rocks and the water I am betting was pretty cold this time of year! 😀

Cindy and I – also balancing on little rocks in the river!

Who knew that .97 cent spa masks would be so much fun? We laughed in these for about an hour!

This was fun and I had no idea how much I looked like The Joker until we shot these pictures. Hmmmm…. next years costume perhaps…..
We had a lot of fun and have already planned to do the same thing same weekend next year! YAY! I will post cookie recipes and the craft pictures throughout the week as well as “how to’s” on them as well. 🙂
Tonight I have book club at my house. The Botticelli Secret was a monster of a book and I will talk more on that tomorrow…. lets just say tonight’s discussion should be interesting and oh yes… there will be pictures. Our theme is Italian and we are potlucking!

You’re right – total resemblance to The Joker! LOL
Can’t wait to hear about my favorite vicarious book club and what they thought of The Botticelli Secret!
Jill – oh I think the review will be so interesting! And we are doing a surprise baby shower too for one of the girls so it will be a fun time 🙂
Fab photos, Sheila! Sara looks like she is eating as much as baking (my kinda woman!) 😉
I used to have “facepack parties” with my friend when I was younger – they were hillarious and your photos have reminded me. Ahhh, memories.
Looks like you had a great time 🙂
LOL Book Whisperer – we never let age stop us! 😀
You could write Joker Meanderings! LOL
I love the idea of a girls weekend retreat, with cookie baking and everything else. I’m sure there was a lot of gabbing until all hours.
It’s always more fun to bake with others, don’t you think? My first baking experiences as a kid were at my cousin’s house, when we would really go all out. I incorporated some of those kid baking experiences into my book Web of Tyranny.
Thanks for sharing….
Laurel that’s funny you said that about baking – we were saying the same thing. In fact I did not even make cookies last year as I am really not much of a baker. It was fun to do it together.
That looks like a fantastic way to unwind, but I don’t think I would have stood in the river this time of year!
We didn’t actually touch the water Kathy -we were on rocks… of course there was always the chance of falling in. 😀
ROTFL!!!!!!!!! Those pics of the spa masks are priceless. Talking Heads?!?!? BWAHAHAHA…..
Oh, I needed a good laugh this morning! And this is precisely the reason why I voted you as having the funniest blog on the “I LOVE YOUR BLOG” Awards.
LOL – thanks Beth 🙂
It sounds like you ladies had a great time and what a good idea to have a craft and baking weekend! Love the Joker look-a-like!
We had a lot of fun Joanne 🙂
You really are blessed with a great group of friends…..I am waiting to read the take of the culb on ‘The Botticelli Secret’ especially after I have recently read it. The mention of cookies is making my mouth water and I’m on a diet so I better get away from the first photo…..see you !
Hi Fiza, surprisingly we did not eat a lot of the cookies…. by the time we each got done making 12 dozen and cleaning up the kitchen … we didn’t want anything to do with the cookies 🙂
Sheila it looks like you had a wonderful weekend with a wonderful group of friends.
Thanks Esme – they are pretty awesome. We have been doing events like this for 11 years.
Great pictures! Sounds like such a fun idea. Glad you had a good time.
Thanks Christina 😀
Hubbies are great and everything, but nothing beats a fun weekend with your best girls! Glad you had fun, Sheila….
Julie my hubby just rolls his eyes when I tell him the girlie things we do like face masks and crafting – but he knows how much I enjoy my time with the girls. 🙂
What fun!
Thanks Lisa! 😀
I so want to do something like this with my girlfriends!
You have to make time – we have so much fun together 🙂
Hi! I’m new to your blog and found you by someone who found me from Cyn’s linky (Julie @ Knitting and Sundries). Thanks Julie! You’re party sounds like so much fun.
I do have a linky on Saturday/Sundays for family friendly Book reviews/giveaways (adult/kid, fiction/nonfiction). You are welcome to add your book reviews & your linky if you’d like. I had such a hard time finding one that I started my own. I’m not real good at doing reviews yet but I’m learning by reading everyone else’s reviews! LOL
Thanks! Tina “The Book Lady”

Thanks Tina and welcome – life is crazy now and I am home for a quick bite of supper and then back to a training session but I will definitely check out your blog. 😀
Looks like fun! I wish I could get together with some of my friends more often! Can’t wait for the recipes and wine charm craft!!
They are coming up Julie – and times with friends are hard when your life gets full and busy but we schedule it in just like anything else and it works 🙂
