Morning Meanderings… A Few Of My Favorite Things and #BBAW Giveaway #4

Good morning!  It’s amazing what one night of nothingness can do to restore your energy.  Time to relax, enjoy a cup of tea and snuggle in with a good book is the best way to recharge my batteries.  I feel GREAT!

I can not believe it is already the last day of BBAW!  It went by so quickly and my crazy schedule did not help.  I am sure I will be spending part of the weekend still getting out to visit the great blogs that stopped by to visit me – new and old!  😀

Yesterdays BBAW winner for the Kate Atkinson books (using random.org) is:

Librarypat!!!

Woo hoo!!!  Congratulations Pat, I will connect with you for shipping info!

My BBAW giveaways have all been about my favorite things…. the week-long one (still going on) has a giveaway for a book I have loved for years and rave about, as well as a book that I have recently read and loved and now soars around my top reads of all time as well.  Then I gave away one of my favorite snack combos while I am reading, good chocolate and tea.  On day two I gave away one of my favorite things to receive, a gift card for books!  On day three I gave away my favorite gifts of all – BOOKS!  And now here we are on day four….  what is one thing that I really enjoy that I have not given away yet….

Oh yeah…..

oh course…..

coffee.

😛

So yes – today’s giveaway is going to be a combo package of many things I love:  Flavored Coffees, Great Chocolate, and a new advanced reader copy of Saving Max by Antoinette Van Heugten.  This book will be on sale in stores in October 2010 and my review of this book will be up later today. USA and Canada only please on this one due to the shipping.

To enter to win this package, please share with me three of your favorite things in a comment below.  I will use Random.org to choose a winner and announce it on the Morning Meandering tomorrow (Saturday).

  4. Yes, I seem to have a certain song stuck in my head now!
It’s tough to pick three, but here goes-

    Blueberry Cheesecake

  6. My kids
    Coffee
A nice long walk followed by a soak in the tub

This week has been fun! It’s hard to pick just 3 of my favorite things. For me books rank right on up there with the coffee but without the coffee I don’t think that my eyes would open enough some days to actually enjoy the book. :o) I am glad that you were able to enjoy your evening and relax a little, taking time for you is important and is one thing that most people don’t do often enough! Have a good one!!

  7. Well, it’s already obvious that books are a favorite and, of course, my sons rank at the top…another obvious favorite. So I will mention three of my other favorites (which, incidentally, I mentioned in my BBAW interview swap). They are:

    cats
    history
    Christmas

Thanks Sheila! It has been a great BBAW, hasn’t it?!

  8. What a sweet post. My favorite 3 things are,

    2. A good juicy book.
    3. Sunshine and blue skies.

  9. My children’s laughter
    Hugs
and… chocolate! (you knew that one was coming didn’t you?)

  10. Thank you for the SOUND OF MUSIC clip. I haven’t watched it in a while and enjoy it so much. I’ll have to find my copy and watch it.

Thank you so much for choosing me as the BBAW winner for yesterday’s giveaway. Those books sound so good.

    My favorite things:
    my family and friends
    books
    traveling

  11. Well, you didn’t need to post the song, since I was already singing it by the time I got that far down in your post. :p

    A few favorites:
    1. Crisp fall air
    2. Good coffee
    3. An absorbing book

  12. Congrats Pat!

My 3 most favorite things are:
    – coffee, is there an IV drip available yet?
    – suspense, preferably in the form of a book.
    – Ewok, my baby Shih Tzu, she makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Thanks for hosting the fab contest. Happy BBAW!

  14. My Three Favorite Things: Well, this is fluid as it changes with the time in my life. Currently, this post is finding me in this mood…

    1. Coffee
    2. Muse
    3. All of the Outlander books by Diana Gabaldon (I guess that then means I have more than three, but really, I count this as one because I view the series as *one* continutaion…see my logic?) 🙂

By the way: I have seen thoughts about Saving Max in the last several weeks, and this book sounds very good. I look forward to seeing what you think.

  15. Hmmmm… Some of my favorite things are hot coffee or cappuccino. A roaring fire in the fireplace. Fall leaves blowing in the wind. A great book, of course… My daughters cavorting in the garden. Oh there’s too many to count LOL…

  16. Three of my favorite things:Biking through the park with our kids, walking in a forest after a heavy rain (the fresh air, scents, and beauty is uncomparable), and of course my most favorite thing (depending on mood), walking in the rain (bundled and without an umbrella!) I love walking and thinking in the rain, it seems to freshen everything, including my perspective on a problem, situation, difficulty. Everything seems to get cleansed!
These are my current favorite things.

  17. Three of my favorite things are reading a good book that you don’t want to put down; doing Word Seek puzzles and watching a good mystery movie where the ending is a surprise.

The book ‘Saving Max’ appears to be really interesting.

  18. Family and friends…
Reading in front of the fireplace with hot tea or coffee…
    Moonlight walks…
    Many thanks to you!
I am keeping my fingers crossed!
    Cindi

  19. I just watched that movie last weekend for the 100th time! Love that song!
    Three of my favorite things:
-Spending time with family and good friends
    -BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    -Summertime

Have a great weekend Sheila! 🙂

  20. Just 3 favorite things??? OK, besides my family, here they are:

    1. Books
    2. Coffee
    3. Quilting

Your review of Saving Max sent me off to see if it’s available in digital form for my e-reader, but it isn’t yet. This is a must read for me as I have a child with Asperger’s Syndrome. I had some definite issues with the portrayal of Asperger’s in Jodi Picoult’s House Rules so I’m very interested in seeing how the syndrome is treated in this book.

  21. not counting family and friends, my three favorite things are:

    1) books
    2) movies
    3) cooking

    thank you for the giveaway!

  22. These are a few of my favorite things (three, to be exact):

    Crispy fried okra,
    and my loving kitty,
    cool autumn mornings,
    and ….

What? I have to stop already? But I haven’t gotten to … Oh, never mind. I’ll stop with the first three that popped into my head, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have dozens more that COULD have been on the list.

What a great way to do this!

Hmmmm... what do you think?
