It is time for round four of “Choose The Next Book I Read!” For those who are new to this occasional post, I will explain what this is.
I LOVE book sales and our local library has a spring and a fall one that are wonderfully priced books that I can not resist. The books are beautiful and gently used. The opportunity lies in the fact that once I bring these treasures home they tend to stay in the box I placed them in when I purchased them for months to come. This is where you come in.
What I am posting here is the pictures of all the books I have picked up from the spring library sale as well as the new additions of the books I purchased last weekend at the Silver Bay Minnesota Library sale.
All you do is look over these titles and leave a comment here with the name of the book you would like to win. On Sunday morning, August 15, I will use random.org to choose a winner. Then that book will go with me this weekend to be read and once read I mail it on to the winner. It is a win – win! I actually read one of the treasures that I bought, and you get a book that you would like!
So here my little beauties are – have fun picking!
** Note: In the following pictures Between Friends is no longer available as that was last months win that is on its way to Elisha this week!
Note #2: I will read the winning book at my earliest possibility and then send it on.
There’s the choices. In your comment below please put which of these books you would like me to read and then pass on to you.
**USA and Canada only please unless the winner can give me an address to send it to in one of these areas. Sorry but the cost to ship beyond that is frightening.

Still want you to read that Ann Patchett book!!
I’ll try for High Tea in Mosul again.
Thanks for the giveaway.
Child44 sounds good!
Sue Miller While I was Gone. Sounds like a good read!
Mirror Mirror by Gregory McGuire
Don’t enter me – but I just wanted to say, read Mrs. Dalloway, as it is one of my favorite books 🙂
Really Nikola? Now I want to read it! 😀
When I Was Five I Killed Myself (I’m not going to give up trying to win this book! lol)
Oh, I choose The Queen of the Big Time, by Adriana Trigiani.
I think you should read The Mermaid Chair. I had considered reading that one in the past and am still curious about it.
The Best of Friends!
Many thanks, Cindi
I think I’m going to try a different one this month…how about Empire Falls!
Lots of choices! I’d pull up “Year of Wonders”!
you know you want to read life’s a beach!!!!
This time my choice would be “Wobegon Boy”. The title is hilarious so the book probably is too!
I think you should read Kitchen Privileges by Mary Higgins Clark. I used to really enjoy her books, but haven’t read anything by her in awhile. I would love for you to read and review this one. I have read a few reviews and it sounds like a good book, but I would like to read your review!
I would like to win Truth and Beauty.
I’d like to read While I Was Gone.

Like Lydia, I still want to read “Truth and Beauty: A Friendship” by Ann Patchett. (Hi, Lydia, I think I posted about a minute ahead of you last time. Maybe one of us will get the book this time.)
haha hopefully!
I’d like to read ‘When I Was Five I Killed Myself”.
thanks!
So many great books you have to look forward too. One that I haven’t already read that I would love a chance to win is Nefertiti.
The curious incident of the dog in the nighttime is my choice.
Life’s A Beach by Claire Cook sounds lile a great book. Ihave seen a few reviews and this book is on my TBR list.
Mary Higgins Clark Kitchen Privileges, I’m trying to collect hers
I have to go with the same one I picked last time: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
Hannah and Sheila – if you two are interested in this book you should also check out Marcelo in the Real World. I actually read Marcelo first and fell in love with it.
Thanks Lydia!
I hope Best of Friends goes with you to the cabin, if you get to go. 🙂
Would love to read Life’s A Beach by Claire Cook! Thanks!
I’m going with The Thief again. Would love to hear your thoughts on it (and read it myself, of course)! 🙂
This time, I’m voting for Vision in White. I haven’t read it yet either and feel woefully behind in Roberts-land!
I know you just read a Claire Cook book, but I’d pick Life’s A Beach anyway because I haven’t read any of hers.
Empire Falls looks really good. I have passed by this book several times at the bookstore and have yet to actually purchase it. The cover keeps drawing me in. There are SO many great books here, I don’t think you could go wrong with any of them!
I think you should read The Best of Friends next.
Robber Bride
How can anyone resist Mary Higgins Clarks’ book
Kitchen Privileges.
Her novels are such good clean mysteries and they keep you guessing to the end.
Fallen Skies- Phillipa Gregory I would like to try one of her books!
WoW!!! That is a lot of stacks of books! I suppose mine would be similar if I took the time to photograph all those waiting to be read!
Well, let’s see…it’s a slightly different question as to what YOU should read next versus what I would choose from your piles! Because you have some amazing books in this stack. Have you really not read The Kite Runner yet? You absolutely must. It is an amazing, powerful book.
As for me, I would choose Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf because she is on my list of authors I can’t believe I’ve never read before.
No matter what is chosen, you win – these all look good!
Sue
Sue I have read Kite Runner but when I go to sales and see beautiful copies of books that I loved, I have to get them too. 😀
I see two of them that I loved. Will like to read The Queen of the Big Time.
I’m sticking with High Tea in Mosul!
I’m sticking with Nefertiti. I love historical books and I’ve looked at this one more than once at Target.
BTW I just finished reading Annie Freeman’s Fabulous Traveling Funeral. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for introducing me to that wonderful book.
Andrea I am so glad you loved it! 😀
So many great books! I own or have read a number of them, but Will to Murder looks like it would be up my alley.
I’m going with The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood again.
The Kite Runner.
Outtakes from a Marriage, Walking Minnesota, and the Ann Patchett book. Thanks- Let me know when I could pick them up. Kaydi
I would suggest you read the Thief, while I haven’t read it myself I hear such wonderful things about that series.
On of the books in the top photo looks a lot like Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, if that is the case all I can say is that for me reading that book was like sitting down in one of the world finest restaurant, smelling the divine aromas, reading the sumptuous menu descriptions and then just about the moment your meal is delivered to the table, you must get up and leave. I’m not sure if I missed the point, but I went back to the store to see if I was missing a chapter.
This time I’m going to say Empire Falls.
Read Vision in White. It’s AMAZING!
I’m still going to have to go with Nefertiti. I really liked that one. Happy reading!
think Barbara Walters is an amazing woman so I choose Barbara Walters-Audition.
yourstrulee(at)sasktel(dot)net
I’m picking YEAR OF WONDERS (by Geraldine Brooks!) It’s arguably a modern classic (yes, I know it’s historical fiction!)
I think Vision In White. I’d like to read that one.
.
I’d pick Mirror, Mirror by Gregory Maguire.
Thanks for sharing!
