  1. What a novel idea! (pardon the pun…book blog humor and all…) Totally agree on the “love to chat” bit…comments make a blogger smile, speaking from experience! It give you that little moment of “GASP! They DO read my posts!” apart from the visitor counts that trackers provide. Had a chuckle at your recent morning meanderings post…nice photo shoot! ^_^ Hope you are enjoying your current read and wishing you many happy ones in the future.

    1. Thanks Amused – this has actually been on my blog since January. Normally I feature it at the top as a sticky but moved it last month for the Blog Survey.

I want to make a Button for it and place it on my sidebar…. eventually 🙂

  2. Great giveaway! I do love your first-thing-in-the-morning blog…it is always something cheery to look forward to!

  3. I don’t know how you find the time to read, review, interview and post as much as you do. I can’t keep up just reading and responding to them. I’ll be in Nashville all next week. Had reservations for RWA week, but the flood forced them to relocate to Orlando. I was hoping our place wouldn’t be reopened and our reservations would be cancelled. They reopened this week and our reservations are nonrefundable.. We have been to Nashville before and there is more for us to see. It is just that it isn’t a trip we want to make right now. So I am going to relax, my daughter, grandson(s), and her babysitters (nice teen sisters who call me Grammy) are going to spend some of the time with me. My husband will spend the first few days. With the kids, I think the most we will do is sit around the pool, play board games, and watch movies.
I will spend the time going through the 500+ unopened emails and hopefully get all caught up and stay that way. It should also be a good time to relax and do some real reading. Nothing serious, though. With that crew, it I won’t be able to concentrate on anything more involved than a Harlequin Historical , Intrigue, or Chick Lit. Will help me clear my shelves a bit.
My husband bought a bike rack for our car and if he gets it installed in time, we will bring our bikes on the trip. Where we are staying is relatively flat which is a good place to start. I haven ridden a bike in years. I’ve had my new one for a year and haven’t yet taken it out. The roads here are just too dangerous. There are a few good bike trails in the area, but until now we had no way to get the bikes there.

Hope you are having a great month. Now to catch up on your posts.

    1. Pat sounds like you will have a fun break – hope you enjoy the bike ride – I need to get back on that…. I miss the riding around the trail. 🙂

  4. Comments are great! It’s like opening up a present every time you receive one.

I hope everyone is staying cool. Here in Northeast Indiana the weather has been extremely hot for us. Well, let me correct that. It’s been in the 90’s with a heat index in the 100’s. I just know that with the humidity I find it extremely hard to breathe outside. We are due for thunderstorms all week so the weather has decreased down to low 80’s today so it’s a little nicer out. All I can say is “bring on Fall” !!! I love the colors and the crispness in the air…especially since I am a Native Californian transplanted to Indiana. Until nine years ago the Fall season was only in pictures and movies.

Well I pray everyone has a blessed day!

    Smiles & Blessings,
    Cindy W.

    1. HI Cindy – right around the 80’s here but stormy the last couple of weeks…. the weather is odd it starts out gorgeous then storms… then clears… then storms…. all in the same day!

  5. I agree with librarypat. I don’t know how you find the time to do all that you do. I know you drink coffee, but come on….do you sleep? I think you actually blog while you are rollerblading and biking. It’s nice you take the time to reply to comments. Some blogs that I comment on feel like the comments go into a black hole. 🙂 Looking forward to your interview with Claire Cook. Get some sleep!

    1. I do sleep….. sometimes in my chair while reading…..LOL… if there was a way to blog while blading or biking that would be cool….. the things I could accomplish! 😀

Interview will be up on Wednesday!

      1. I’m doing much better now, climbing stairs doesn’t hurt too much anymore. I had to have fluid drained off my knee twice but lucky for me no surgery.

The ice cream was really good by the way.

  6. The weather here in Melbourne is chilly. Its winter here. I am leaving for my “real” home tomorrow so its back to hot and humid weather in Sri Lanka. Will miss Melbourne and the wonderful books available here but looking forward very much to going home!

  7. I should be reading but here I am, staring at that ice cream cone…drooling and reading blogs! What is wrong with this picture!!! Oh wait, I know..I don’t have the ice cream cone!!

  8. I’m always amazed at how many comments you manage to leave! I started on the linky list (for What are you reading?) this morning planning to get through most of it through the day. Didn’t happen. I did get through quite a few though! We all love the comment love!

    1. I love to connect Candace and I try to hit them all on Monday 😀 Doesnt always work – once it took me to Wednesday to stop in at all the Monday memes 🙂

  9. Hi there, just popping in to thank you for stopping by my blog. And to mention that I just got back from your beautiful Minnesota – my husband is from Minneapolis, so we visit every year and I consider myself an honorary citizen of the state because I love it there! 🙂

  10. I always enjoy your blog. I check it every week, although I don’t always have the time to comment. I guess I should more often. What I like about your blog is that there is so much to look at! I love clicking on all the different things, and somehow it doesn’t look cluttered.

  11. Good morning, Sheila…love that gorgeous apple at the top of this post.

I love visiting and commenting here…it always feels like you’re at the other end, listening, with a big cup of coffee.

  12. August is my birth month and the end of summer for the kids. I work in a library and usually we’re swamped during the summer and the first few weeks of school is dead. Not this year, my building is under renovation so we don’t open for another few months.

  13. I enjoyed looking through your site. It is so much nicer than the one I have on WordPress, but it is new, so may-be there is still hope for me?

    1. Thank you Mary B and I started out pretty basic myself – but as I seen things I liked about other blogs, I asked people how they did it…. I am not computer savy but with help I am pretty happy at the look today. 😀

      1. LOL Vicki – I hate it when I do that…. 🙂

Its cooler – 50’s and 60’s. Yesterday it rained while Wendy and I were bike riding. I am hoping for some better weather before we go totally cold fall and then of course the big “W”.

I have another big bike ride on the 25th so hoping that will be nice weather as well.

  14. September is here ushering in my favorite time of the year. We have a Celtic Festival this weekend. Unfortunately it looks like it is going to rain all weekend. The outdoor concert Saturday night is always so great. Hope it clears off a bit.
We will be going to the North Carolina Coast for a few days. We rented a place for the week so I daughter and her husband have a place to stay while he goes to Duke for medical treatment. We’ll spend the first part of the week , then leave them to relax on their own. The first weekend of Oct. we are going up to Williamsburgh, VA for a weekend of Highland games. Two of my favorite bands will be playing. Hope the weather is good. It is a 7 hour drive each way. e get to visit my little sister while there. The end of Oct. we go to Orlando. Harry Potter world here I come : )
