Morning Meanderings…

Mmmmmmmm…. Saturday.  This is my favorite day of the week.  Saturdays rarely come with attachments, unless I put them there.  An attachment free Saturday = BLISS.  And that’s what I have today.

I have plenty to do – and plenty I may do…  but nothing I have to do.  Does that make sense?  I can work on cleaning the house, go into the office and work on the Monday project, sweep my deck, take a bike ride….

But for now… I am gathering up Coffee Cup and Lap Top and I am actually going to go and sit and read and blog in the Reading Room.   I have not sat in the reading room and relaxed for a long time.  But this morning is overcast and humid, and that is what I am going to do.

Boxes from BEA are still sitting in the reading room…. maybe today is the day to unpack them and put them away.

I have a review to write on a book I finished last night and from there… eh, who knows?

Have a wonderful day/weekend.  I will be out blog visiting today and I will be around today and tomorrow with no real big plans.  LOVE it.

  1. Commitment-free Saturdays are awesome! Although we’ve not much set in stone here today, we do have a long list of things we *should* do. We’ll see what and when things actually get done. Have a great one!

    • Thanks Hannah – I have plenty of the “should do’s” as well….although I really do not have a lot on my Sunday plate either after church so should be just a good weekend of not much – and I do like that. 🙂

      • Yeah, our Sunday’s mostly available for getting things done, too, so hopefully we’ll make a big dent in the list and still feel like we’ve had a weekend when it’s over. 🙂

  2. Have a wonderful day relaxing! We have a fine arts fair downtown that I hope to get to if the rain stays away (which for the exhibitors, I hope it does).

  3. I am green with envy! I have fallen into the “parent trap” of trying to cram too many errands in on Saturday since I have zero time during the week. The result is ornery kids and a harried Mommy. Gotta make a change soon!
    “Blog visiting”?? Come visit me!

    • BECKY! 😀 (So fun to identify you yesterday). I remember those days…. sports and birthday parties and friends overnight, and….. well,

I will come over and I am bring scones and really good coffee. 😀

  4. I adore no-plan days. They are simply delightful in that truly peaceful-spoileriffic way. : )

    • They are Trisha – no commitments. I need days like this once in a while just to recharge. 😀

  5. Those kind of days are the best. My day is much like yours too, except I do have a graduation party later tonight. Enjoy 😀

    • Staci, as I think about it – I was invited to go out tonight with a girl I graduated with who is in town for the weekend…. but thats like at 7 pm. I may do that just because it would be fun to see her and hopefully get a pic of us – I like pictures. 🙂

  6. Definitely the best kind of days. We’re having one of those here, too. Enjoy!

    • I agree Melissa – I may make a pitcher of ice tea, or my friend gave me a recipe for a delicious iced coffee….. hmmm…. the possibilities are endless….. 😀

  7. I love Saturdays in the school year for the same reasons that you do. I love having things to do but nothing I have to do. Most of my summer vacation is that way – a whole string of Saturdays. Love it! I get lots of time to read, think, try out new recipes, visit new places, etc. Have a wonderful Saturday!

    • Thanks Kathy. I am not sure yet which direction this day will take. Currently I have done nothing but make a pot of coffee and have some oatmeal. 🙂

  8. I’m on vacation right now, Thursday through Wed. and I was supposed to be driving to MN right about now, but I had a slight accident on the stairs so now I can’t drive for that long. I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the cooler weather, the heat down here is horrible.

      • Thanks Sheila and Laurel…..I was actually packing the car when I fell down the steps. I had a slight concussion and I’ve tweaked my knee pretty good. So I’m stuck in Wichita this vacation. Hopefully next year I will get to go home.

      • Oh wow Ryan! My goodness! Thankfully you are ok! What a bummer that your plans had to change.

        Take care of you!

  9. Yeah I love it that you have not unpacked your BEA boxes yet-I semi did last week by consolidating them and moving them to the garage.

  10. I think I have an “attachment free” Saturday! I’m hoping…Sometimes my daughter calls at the last minute and wants me to watch Noah, but usually she does it the night before.

I’ve got my book set up at the little Coca Cola table by the window, with the breeze coming in, and I’m going there right after I get off the computer. I bought the turkey hot dogs and buns yesterday, so while I’m reading, I’ll be boiling the potatoes for potato salad. Which sounds good to me. Maybe it’s the idea of Fourth of July coming soon!

Have a great day, and I love your reading room.

    • Laurel your day sounds lovely. I have the windows closed here … the weather is humid – no breeze. Love your lunch plans too – sounds yummy!

  11. I can’t believe you haven’t unpacked your BEA boxes yet! Have you at least opened them and looked through them?

    • Kathy – oh yes! I had them all out, took pictures of them, even read a couple – but havent placed them yet! 🙂

My TBR shelves need a little ummm…. errr…. attention before I can fit them on there. 🙂

  12. I’ve got a day like that too today – must be the Saturday for it!
I’m going to work on my blog some – trying to figure out how to bump up my traffic a bit – and adding some things to it.
Then I think I’ll wander among my roses and visit with them for a while…Happy Saturday, my friend!!

    • Hi Sharon – sounds like a plan. I especially like the wandering among the roses.

Enjoy your day too Sharon 😀

  13. I am commitment free today also. Well kind of. I am doing laundry. I plan on reading while I do it since it is too hot for much else. I love your reading room chair. It looks so comfy and inviting! Enjoy your day!

    • Thanks Beth – its noon and I am still in it…. about to go get ready for the day, just need to pick a new audio to listen to as I buzz around the house 🙂

  14. Hi Sheila !
I love your reading room…….my reading spot happens to be my bed with a and a ‘mess’ of books all around.
My room sadly is always in a mess….but with books, so its a paradise for me (at least).

I am going to read a Robin Cook tonight……and you ?

  15. I forgot to mention a coffee at my bedside table….equals my reading spot !!!! MAN AM I ADDICTED OR WHAT !?!?! I’ve got one of my cats addicted to coffee too……all three of my cats read over my shoulder at night…….if only they could talk….hmmm….

    • LOL Fiza – the reading room is our old home office. When the office moved to our bisiness – I got the room. 😀

I love that you have a coffee table next to your bed!

  16. Aren’t reading rooms great? Perhaps you should sneak into the office and snatch the Snickers….we won’t tell. 🙂 Enjoy your day! My mom and I went to see Letters to Juliet today. It’s so rare to see a “clean” movie these days, very enjoyable.

  17. Jill I love my room. I will stop in the office tomorrow but think I am safe from the Snickers bar. Monday may be a different story. That is our big meeting day and if things get stressful….. good bye Mr. Snickers 🙂

  18. What a treat. My list of things that must get done, need to get done, I should be doing keeps getting longer. It is frustration that no matter how many boxes I unpack or how much I sort, it never seems to make a difference. I keep telling myself that it will be that way and the – “It’s done.”
I’m sneaking reading in while I’m eating and cooking. Not finishing much.
