Morning Meanderings…

Oh I can just tell it is going to be a BE-A- UTIFUL day today.  The sun is already shining this early and I cant wait to be in it!

I have touched base with all BEA roommates and I am getting seriously excited. (Here is a little background music while you read this post).

Ok… LOL.  I had to do that.

I biked yesterday 18 miles instead of rollerblading.  Wendy has strep throat so had to cancel on me.  Thats ok, I havent had the bike out for a while now and it felt good to do the ride on a sunny day.  The big 150 mile is in June and I am seriously praying on nice weather for that two day ride!

I have so many reviews to write and such a busy schedule.  My plan was to be all caught up before I left for BEA and I hope I can still do that.  Books are read, I just got behind on the reviews.

On another bookish note I am ready for a new audio book on my IPOD.  I received my monthly credit from Audible yesterday and I have chosen The Eyes Of Darkness by Dean Koontz.  I loved Koontz in my early 20’s and read everything he had written.  I havent read him now for a while and I am excited about this new one!

I also think I am going to pick up Kiss by Ted Dekker.  Audible is having a 48 hour sale and this one is one of the sale audio that I would like to have.

We will talk more about audio one of these days!  I know many of you do not listen to them but I love them and I want to do a pro con post….  when I have time.  (Insert smile here).

Have an awesome day – as I type I am already late for the gym and I will have to catch up with Jennifer.

  1. Have a great day Sheila. Glad the sun is shining; it’s poking out from behind the clouds here too today 🙂

I look forward to your post about audio books – I am a fairly recent convert and love them now.

  2. Sheila, I really do find you an inspiration. You manage to pack so much into your days. I want to be more like you and make sure every minute is filled with something wonderful.

  3. I love that song!! I just knew it was going to be that one, too, before I noticed the BIG clues…

What an adventure you have before you, and what fun that you’re going to meet other like-minded people.

And NYC! Oh, my, I can almost feel the energy of it, just listening to this music and imagining it all…

Now I’m off to write a review of Kellerman’s book Deception.

  4. Great Song choice! I am sure you are very excited. I know I am excited about my little trip to New York:) I keep hearing so much about BEA I have decided I am going to try to go next year if there is one. In fact to keep myself on track I am going to blog about my progress, I figure the not wanting to Embarrass myself will keep me motivated, lol. Have a great day!

    1. Thanks Bobbie! I hope you do go next year – maybe make it a post on your side bar where you can keep adding to the goal – like New York or Bust or something like that 🙂

  5. Working backwards as usual. I need to get moving. Just came in overheated from working in the garden. Need to get cleaned up for a viewing and a funeral tomorrow, see Macomber comment.
I LOVE this Pointer Sister’s song. I will go to that convention one of these days. Right now I am trying to get ready for a Florida trip. We leave the 2nd and will return on the 15th. My husband needs a break and we are both looking forward to it.

    Have a great trip!

  6. Thanks for the song, I’ve always loved it. It picks you up when you’re down in the dumps!

I have Kiss. Hope you enjoy it!

    1. I cant recall if I have read Kiss or not. I have it on my shelf – with pretty much everything else that Dekker has written. I thought the audio would be great for my drive time this weekend. Did you see he has a new series out? I just noticed it on the bookshelves locally yesterday. It must have been out for awhile it already has 4 books to it. May be YA – didnt have time to look too closely at them.

As for Koontz – he reminds me a bit of a cross between Stephen King (but no where near as dark) and Harlan Coben. he had a couple I couldn’t get into but for the most part I have read everything of his and find him to be a good mystery suspense author.
