A Change In Altitude by Anita Shreve Giveaway

Thank you to Hachette Book Group who has allowed me give away 3 copies of this book to my readers!

Margaret and Patrick have been married just a few months when they set off on what they hope will be a great adventure-a year living in Kenya. Margaret quickly realizes there is a great deal she doesn’t know about the complex mores of her new home, and about her own husband.

A British couple invites the newlyweds to join on a climbing expedition to Mount Kenya, and they eagerly agree. But during their harrowing ascent, a horrific accident occurs. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Margaret struggles to understand what happened on the mountain and how these events have transformed her and her marriage, perhaps forever.

A Change in Altitude illuminates the inner landscape of a couple, the irrevocable impact of tragedy, and the elusive nature of forgiveness. With stunning language and striking emotional intensity, Anita Shreve transports us to the exotic panoramas of Africa and into the core of our most intimate relationships.

I think I’d like to read TESTIMONY. It is current and a problem and false accusations are still made.

  9. I’ve heard of all of her books at one point or another, and there is something that interests me about each one. The Pilot’s Wife, of course, but also Testimony and Body Surfing and Resistance. There are quite a few. This one sounds especially great.

I did the audio book of Testimony and thought it was fantastic! I would love to win this one.

  17. I have read everything she has written but I have especially loved Eden Close and The Weight Of Water…I really want to read this one, too.

  18. Linda

I have read and enjoyed so many of Anita Shreve’s books and would love to win Change of Altitude, because reviews indicate that this one is “different” than her others. It may show growth in writing in a new setting, but with Shreve’s age-old themes of emotion and sympathy toward others, unforgettable characters and her unique writing style. I loved Weight of Water for its introspection into the protagonist’s own marriage, Where or When for its suspense between despair and hope, Pilot’s Wife for its exploration of self-doubt, Eden Close for small-town emotions and interactions and All He Ever wanted for its intersecting stories of obsession.

  19. I’ve read several of Anita’s books, and I also enjoyed “Sea Glass” and “Light on Snow. I’d love to read this latest one. Thank you!
