Morning Meanderings…

Good morning!  Another rainy day here in central Minnesota but for some reason I can not stop smiling.  Why is this?

I just found out last night that I was one of the winners that will have tea with Adriana Trigiani while I am in New York on May 26th for BEA (Book Expo America).  Adriana is the author of Viola in Reel Life, Very Valentine, Brava Valentine (all which have been reviewed here) and many more best selling books.  Seriously I can’t stop grinning.  The email I received said that I would be picked up from the Jarvis Center and will ferry me to the tea in Manhattan!

So… because of this…. I leave you with this video this morning because this is a little illustration that keeps popping in my head to go with the way I am feeling right now.

So I am now skipping my way out the door to a day of work and then tonight I have book club here at my home.  We are reviewing The Girl She Used To Be by David Cristofano and we are potlucking around the food in the book.  This means…. Italian!  Yum!!!  I hope to have pictures for the meandering and for the review.  🙂

Have a super awesome day everyone!!!

  1. The Mary Tyler Moore video made my day !!! (or will!)
My favorite show of all time. I saw her on Broadway once and was blessed to talk to her after the show. Fabulous woman. Maybe you already know, but Oprah did a reenactment of this MTM show opening in homage to Mary and it was fantastic too; maybe you can find it?
Looking forward to follow your readings whenever I can fit them in.

  2. Wow! Congratulations 🙂 That is so exciting! I am sure you’re day will be wonderful (how could it not when you start out with Mary Tyler Moore in your head ;)!!!)

Have a great book club as well…sounds yummy!

  3. Wow! No wonder you’re smiling! I just recently finished “Brava Valentine” on audio CDs in my car and I’m sure I was laughing aloud driving around to and from work or doing errands, loving her words and her life. I bet she will be a delight in person! Enjoy, Sheila!

  4. Oh, that is fabulous! Congratulations, and enjoy your MTM moment! I can just see you tossing your hat in the air.

BTW…loved the Mary Tyler Moore show back in the day, and one day about a year ago, I picked up some DVDs of the show for a few seasons. It took a whole weekend to watch them all, but it ended up a “feel good” weekend.

Another tidbit…whenever I see my e-mail with your “morning meandering” post, I have to quickly refill my coffee cup, because it’s like a conditioned response, I guess. Coffee with Sheila!

    Have a great day!!

    1. Laurel – I am not even sure if I have ever watched the MTM show! I know the theme song though and the hat tossing scene 🙂

I love that you fill up your cup to have a cup of coffee with me Laurel – that is awesome!

  5. WOW! Congrats!!! That is so super exciting! I will be in New York City the 26th also but I am going to go see Memphis The Musical. I am really excited because it is my first trip to New York and of course my first time seeing a Musical on Broadway:) Have a fabby day and congrats again!

    1. Oh Bobbie – you will be so close! It will be my first time to New York too – if you get any free time give me a call! That would be sweet! 😀

  6. Sheila, Congrads on NewYork trip for BEA and a tea with Adriana Trigiani, one of my Favorite authors.
The MTM video brings back great memories.
Let’s have another cup of coffee.
    Hugs!

  7. Congratulations, Sheila! You’ll have a blast, I’m sure. I miss NYC. When we lived in NJ we went there frequently and enjoyed every minute. If you ever get a chance, go there on marathon Sunday. It’s a completely different city that day – everyone gets suddenly polite and they all smile and have a good time. A miracle! 🙂

  8. okay, now I feel silly. Guess I wasn’t awake this morning – This was the first I’ve been on your morning meanderings and the first thing to catch my eye (besides the beautiful big cup of coffee) was the MTM video and I knew we would be friends right away, so I wrote a little blurb and went on with my day. Now that I have time I’ve come back and just actually read what you wrote (how rude of me not to the first time I must confess!) and —what big news!!!! NYC is always great and can’t wait to hear about your adventure. I’ve always had her books on my “to read” list, but you’ve just inspired me to head off to the library tonight. Again, congrats!

  9. I hope you’re also smiling because you put up a clip from my all-time favorite television show, and because you have my all-time favorite senator, Al Franken. I wish he were on the panel that is right this minute questioning the CEOs of Halliburton and BP about the oil spill.

You ARE Mary Tyler Moore today! Good for you.

  10. Congrats on winning that tea date–sounds like great fun! Have a great time w/ your book club (I know you will!); can’t wait to hear what they think of the book.

  11. Congrats! I am so excited for you! I have read all of her books and can’t wait to hear about the tea. MTM rocks!

  12. Congratulations! What a special treat. I am so happy for you. From the interviews I’ve seen, she is a very personable woman. You should have a wonderful time.
