Morning Meanderings…

Good morning Meandering readers!  Hope you day is off to a good start!  Yesterday I was at lunch with a group of fellow office staff and my boss said I was the Queen of conversation links.  Meaning, I can take a piece of conversation and run with it in a different direction.  Could be the multi tasker in me…. could be the coffee…  it is the way I am wired.

Words always have triggered other thoughts for me… either movie quotes, past conversations, or pictures just come to mind. I switch gears quickly – much like my fictional hero, Lorelai from Gilmore Girls.

Hope your day is super fab awesome!  I am still battling poor weather conditions here and even heard there was a chance for snow over the weekend.  Are you kidding me????  SNOW in May?  GAH!

That makes me a little annoyed. 😉

How is your week going?

  1. Oh, now I just have to watch that show! It’s on all the time, on my Soap Net channel, but since they’re all reruns, I never know where to start. But I can see from these examples, that it probably doesn’t matter.

My favorite, of course, is: “Where are all the anvils?” And then this response was fabulous: “Is there a Secret Anvil Storage Facility?”

    Totally LOL funny.

Oh, and in the second one, I liked the idea of an English to Dumb-Bell Dictionary!

With a start like this, my morning is definitely better already.

    Have a great day!

    1. Laurel – if possible rent the seasons and start with season one because they just get funnier through the seasons. This way you can watch Rory (the daughter) grow up… and you ave to foully follow the dysfunction that is the Gilmore Friday night dinners. 🙂

I watch all the seasons (there are 7) every winter.

  2. I love your morning postings (or are they “meanderings?”)! A good start to my bookish day. I attended one of my three book groups last night…a good discussion on THE PIANO TEACHER by Janice Y. K. Lee. We selected the new Sarah Dunant SACRED HEARTS for next month. It sounds good…historical novel about 16th-century Italy, where the custom has become to fill the convents with the daughters of noblemen who are unable or unwilling to pay a dowry to marry them off. I do love a great historical fiction novel to learn about another era and time; many times they are more truth than fiction, giving an insight into another time.

    1. Linda – thank you… I enjoy writing them 🙂

The Sarah Dunant book sounds good! I have this one but have not read it yet. Should be a good discussion book.

I agree – I actually learn from the historical fiction reads and close the books knowing more about a piece of history then I did before I had started 🙂

  3. Our weather’s been really weird here too. Our days consist of rain, sun, hail, sun, rain, etc. all day long. Yesterday we even had one single clap of thunder and one bolt of lightening thrown in for good measure.

    1. Zia that same thing happened on the bike trail on Tuesday. Wendy and I were rollerblading and all of a sudden there was one flash of lighting in the overcast sky and then one thunder… sprinkled a little bit…. wind picked up and then it was over.

      So weird!

    1. Amy – me too! I originally was looking for coffee related videos and then seen a Gilmore Girl one and it changed my whole Morning Meandering direction 🙂

  4. A mentally hectic week for me concerning I have to give my exams during the afternoons and the temperature here is a whooping 40c. Wish I could see some snow come my way………can someone parcel it ?!

  5. Great post. I am a bit like you, sometimes it is hard for me to not “change the subject”.

Hope your weather improves. Mine is fairly good, a bit too windy though.

    1. ibeeeg, I tend to ramble and get going like Loralie does in the clips 🙂 On a good day I can just go on and on…. 🙂

I am watching the weather today…. overcast…. still says snow tomorrow…. I bike on Saturday so I am bumming….

  6. The queen of conversation links! Never heard that before. I love how you linked your words to different sites, your so creative. Wish i was like that! I too have to watch Gilmore Girls, I’ve heard so much about it. Hope your day goes well, its been cold here too and yesterday it snowed. Ugh snow it May.

  7. O my! This is one of my favorite shows! I am always catching a re-run on TV when I can find it:) As far as the snow in May goes, ummm… ugh. We had enough of that this year in MD to make me never want to see it again.

    1. Bobbie – this is my favorite of all time! I love Gilmore Girls! I have never been a fan of snow…. looking out my window – there it is. Sigh. At least it is not even making it to te ground before it melts 🙂

  8. I have never watched the Gilmore Girls. I need ti find out what network it is on. These clips are wonderful. I love the humor, the pacing, everything.
Just Googled it and it is an ABC show. I should be able to find it. Lets hope it isn’t opposite one of my husbands favorite shows or I’ll have to go hide in my sewing room to watch it. At least I’d get some ironing done, so that’s not a bad thing. Too bad, he would really enjoy the humor.

    1. Pat you can rent the full seasons at most video stores. I recommend starting with season one to follow the story to the fullest. I love Gilmore Girls.

I have all the seasons and I am currently loaning them to a friend who watches them with her husband in the evenings… she says he will come home from work and ask her when they are going to watch the next episode! 😀

  9. Lorelai is an awesome character (so is Rory). I think it is a positive to be a little like them. 🙂

I hope you don’t get snow! I cannot believe how cold it suddenly is. Do you live on the east coast? My dad was just in New York and was shocked by how cold it was. He didn’t pack his winter coat or cold weather clothing, poor guy.
