Morning Meanderings…

Hmmmm….. the best laid plans.

I am up super early this morning as I have super pinky sweared my friend Jennifer that I would take the 5:45 am Group Power class with her at the YMCA.  For those of you who have been on the super pinky swear club…. you know that is serious stuff.  🙂

When I agreed to do this on Monday afternoon I was fully awake and energized and of course it sounded like a good idea then… now..

not so much.

Well, the point was that if I took my class this morning instead of the 4:15 time I usually do, then if the weather was decent – I may actually have time to get in a bike ride in the later afternoon.  That is the method behind my madness.

So why am I grumbling about best laid plans?  Yesterday I had big dreams of putting up an afternoon review and then giveaway winners in the evening.  That is not how it went at all.  Instead I did not get my review post ready… had a super busy day at work… ran a couple of errands and caught up with my friend Wendy for rollerblading at 4, home by 5:15 pm… making super, played a game of cribbage with Al, cleaned up after supper, watched Biggest Loser (which I LOVE), answered some emails, worked on my blog book journey map…. and well…. around midnight had to say that’s all folks.

Perhaps today will have a better outlook.  One can only hope 🙂

As for bookish happenings… I am crying my way through Columbine, laughing and enthralled in the audio of House Rules, and deeply involved in the CD’s of Kite Runner.

I am having a lot of fun with the map though and still have a way to go to catching it up for 2010!

  1. You know my friend, sometimes you make me tired just reading your posts, lol. I haven’t even left my chair and I am ready for a nap. I must say I am really enjoying your map. It is so cool to follow a long. I hope you have a wonderful day and some great reading time!!

    1. Bobbie it is a little after 4 pm now here (first time I have had a chance all day to get on line) and I am pretty shot. I going to answer comments, prep a couple posts and curl up with Columbine 🙂

  2. The Kite Runner is one of my favorite books…thinking I may have to read it again. I can’t wait to see what you think about House Rules because I’ve been hearing such good things about it.

    1. JO JO I have not had a lot of time with it yet but what i have heard I like.

I am so deeply excited about House Rules – so far it is A+ Fantastic with great characters…. I have a little concern over blog rumors I have heard that the ending is not making people happy…. We will know soon enough, I am flying through it 😀

  3. Okay, I’m going to let you inspire me to get OUT of this computer chair and off to do a workout.

But I’ve also started a new challenge—it actually begins tomorrow—which will be about A Page a Day on the WIP. On the heels of the 50,000 Words in 50 Days Challenge, which I completed last week, this one should take my WIP into that zone.

And finally I finished Audition and posted my review here:

    1. WIP Laurel? I am not an author…. you are not speaking my language! 😀 Whats that?

You finished Audition – YAY! I havent even started yet!

    1. Stephanie if I could make that a regular thing it would be wonderful. I live close enough to the gym (4 miles) that I can work out, come home and clean up before work. Then my afternoons could be free to bike or blade – or nothing 😀

  4. Wish I had half the energy you do. Part of the problem is I don’t get out. I never realized the difference just having to get up and go to a job made. Since we are one car short, I don’t have wheels to run around. Walking and biking out in the country where we live is too dangerous. The wise guys here consider you a target and there are way too many dogs that just run loose. I am making progress today on cleaning out the room in the garage addition. It will be a craft room, plus storage of educational supplies (I can hope I’ll use them again). I know I have just been too overwhelmed by the mess in the house. Having things straightened up will help tremendously. Not only that, we’ll be able to get to the treadmill and exercise equipment which will help in a whole other area.

    1. Pat the treadmill will be awesome…. you can walk and watch t, or read or listen to audio!

I have some house “opportunities” as well that I will be working on over the weekend as book club is at my house next Tuesday. Nothing motivates me like company 😀

  5. At the end of the day I’m sure you will be happy that you agreed to do the early class. When you lay your head down on the pillow it will be with a sigh of relief and accomplishment for truly enjoying the hours of your day!

    1. Staci I really am. I had a funeral to attend out of of town today and it was stressful finding my way there and I was following my boss on the way back to Brainerd and we got lost. Round trip was suppose to be 2 1/2 hours. We made it more like 5. I am tired and in no mood to work out at all so if it wasnt for this morning….. today would have been a miss.

Did I mention it is raining? Again???

      *sigh*

      LOL

    1. Michelle – I may be insane….

I prefer the word driven…. but maybe that is another word for insanity…LOL 🙂

No bike ride today….. (see comment response above)…. hopefully tomorrow.

  6. I always have great plans that somehow get derailed. Usually it’s because one of my kids needs a ride, or me to run buy something or just wants to talk. Or, let’s be honest, I can waste a lot of time on this computer!

  7. Ahhh plans . . . they always get in my way!! LOL!! Looks like you have some great books on tap. I can’t wait to read your thoughts on them!!
