I am filled with giddiness….
a. Having a reeling, lightheaded sensation; dizzy.
b. Causing or capable of causing dizziness: a giddy climb to the topmast.
2. Frivolous and lighthearted; flighty.
intr. & tr.v. gid·died, gid·dy·ing, gid·dies
To become or make giddy.
In this case, it would be definition 2. I am looking outside – not directly for fear it is an illusion….. but I seriously am seeing a cloudless day… and I think, I am almost (almost) positive that is the sun.
The weather since Friday has been less than delightful. Mainly heavy dark clouds, rain sporadically throughout the days and night. And cold. Did I mention it was cold? Hovering around 40 – 50 degrees.
Today looks…. rollerblading worthy. Or bike worthy…. but I am probably going to go with rollerblading as my Durango needs to have the brakes looked at and that is my “bike hauling” machine. I need the Durango ready to go by Friday as that is when I need to drive tot he cities for my next bike ride, a mini version of the MS 150 I am doing in June. This one is the MS 60, a 30 or 60 mile route, and I am soooooo hopeful the weather is good so I can do the planned 60 miles.
Yesterday I took my first indoor cycling class at the gym. I loathe stationary bikes. I always feel like I am going to fall off of them…. I did a 30 minute class of intense biking that make me sweat (and really, I do not under normal circumstances sweat). There is no comparison to road biking and stationary bikes. I can honestly say the stationary bike is more of a workout. And that is why I will haul myself to the class again with a plastered smile on my face.
Anyway, I am all hyped up on coffee and apparently rambling and need to get ready for work. I hope to have a review up this afternoon… I really need to so I can keep up on my reviews. 🙂

Good morning! Glad you’re seeing glimpses of sun. We’re actually hovering in the seventies, eighties, and beyond…then, seemingly out of nowhere, we’ll have a really cold, windy day.
I am dreading our hot summers, though. The temperatures soar to 110 and beyond sometimes.
The price we pay for mild winters that seldom go below the 20s.
Have a great day!
Laurel,
I am going to have to come over if you are going to continue to brag about your weather 😀
I love hot weather!
Are you SURE about that, Sheila? One summer, we had seven days of 114-116. I had to flee to the coast.
Of course, that is the upside of where I live. We’re never far away from cooler climates.
Are you by water Laurel? I could do it if you are by water… or a good air conditioner… 😀
Wow…I am just so impressed with your endurance. To have the energy to complete these bike rides is wonderful! Obviously this is a time consuming activity, but I love how you discipline yourself to MAKE sure you have the time to complete your rides…Kudos to you Sheila and good luck this weekend!
Thanks Jo Jo. I started doing a couple of these a years about 10 years ago but really upped it last year when I started riding with my cousin. I just love seeing all the people and I am hoping (LOL) it keeps me young 😀
Yay for good weather! It’s beautiful here, too. Good luck on your ride!
Thanks Amy…. I am crossing my fingers 🙂
It’s 84 degrees today, cloudy and humid which makes my hair frizzy.
I love the South.
Sharazad, I love the south too. Its more my kind of weather 🙂
My hubby just decided that he’s going to do a couple of days of RAGBRAI this summer. He’s never done anything quite that hard before so I’m hoping to see him working up to it again. He doesn’t bike as much as he used to but our neighbor is going and has his psyched for it.
Lisa I am not familiar with RAGBRAI. I am going to have to look that up! Sounds interesting 😀
I’m driving up to Cloquet and Two Harbors the last weekend of next month so everyone in MN needs to make sure the weather cooperates with me so I can go out to Gooseberry Falls and play in the woods. Have a great day!
Oh fun Ryan! I hope the weekend is a beautiful one for you! That is such a gorgeous area! Are you bringing your son?
Yeah I am…..I am driving up early Saturday morning and leaving early Tuesday morning. I will probably leave him there for the rest of the summer since he has spent the last three Summers up there. This will be my first time home in way too long.
I so admire your gumption. Can I feed on it vicariously? I need to lose 100 lbs and if I was you, I probably would have already lost it…LOL!
I’m seriously considering getting a stationery bike after seeing that commercial with the woman with stands attached for her laptop and book. If I could do that, I might actually park my butt on it longer than 5 minutes…if it has a comfy seat that is! We’ll see! Have to get some cash first. I think I’ll start trolling craigslist for a good used one.
You definitely need a comfy seat Michelle. I dont know if it a manufactures cruel joke or what but those seats are brutal! 🙂
I have a friend who just started walking around her home, and in the yard and going up and down the stairs a lot and changed up her eating habits. She lost around 80 pounds. Good luck Michelle – I hope you find a bike 🙂
It hasn’t been cold here but it has been raining nonstop but we got a pretty day today too!
Oh good Ladytink – I hope oyu get a chance to enjoy it. I went rollerblading 🙂
We had a rainy week last week and then the sun came back and it was almost 90 degrees … there seems to be no middle ground!
Jenners … wow! I need some middle ground… mid 70s would be fabulous 🙂
Your making me jealous of your biking expeditions Sheila! I can bike as much as i love to since I have my now 8month old daughter (turned 8 months on the 3rd!) but I do jog and walk A LOT!! with the stroller! Great excersize and bonding time with my daughter; esp since i take her to the park afterward then home to coffee and books while she naps! Anyway, good luck with your weather, ours has been the same as yours! yesterday we had loud thunder and lightening.
Bookjunkiemom, my kids are grown or I would be doing what you are doing! And how fun to be out there with your little one – those are great memories! I am still praying about the weather 🙂
how do you get books on that ning book site? donation? half price? I found the website but I cant find where you can buy books? What am i doing wrong?
HI Elisha – not sure I understand what you are asking here. Please email me at journeythroughbooks@gmail.com with your questions and I will try to help.
I do so hope the weather cooperates for you. 40 to 50 isn’t so bad if it isn’t windy and damp. We are looking at cool and rainy for the weekend here, which is luckily out of your weather pattern. We have a stationary bike buried under the boxes. I am digging today. Won’t get to the bike until we instal cabinets and I can put some stuff away.
Keeping my grandson has cut into digging time – our daughter and her husband took the day off today so they are all out fishing. They are home schooling, which means I have him and his workbooks everyday. Yesterday was most frustrating. After spending almost 2 hours on one simple question, I realized he was just being a pain on purpose. (OK I’m a slow learner. He has never been like that before.) Tomorrow he finds out it isn’t nice to mess with Grammy.
Weather didnt cooperate today Pat but as tired as I am froma pretty stressful driving day, I am glad I got a workout in early so I can just relax tonight and not feel too guilty 🙂
LOL about your grandson!
