Every day we make choices. Coke or Pepsi? Save or spend? Stay or go? Whether mundane or life-altering, these choices define us and shape our lives. Sheena Iyengar asks the difficult questions about how and why we choose: Is the desire for choice innate or bound by culture? Why do we sometimes choose against our best interests? How much control do we really have over what we choose? Sheena Iyengar’s award-winning research reveals that the answers are surprising and profound. In our world of shifting political and cultural forces, technological revolution, and interconnected commerce, our decisions have far-reaching consequences.

I had gastric bypass surgery about nine months ago and in these monts my biggest challenge has been about food. What do I eat? what I rally want or think I want? Or the high protein foods I know my body desperately needs. It’s like having two gnomes on my shoulder fighting for my attention and thoughts!
Hey Kiki-Hang in there! I had the same surgery 7 years ago and the first year is the hardest mentally!
That being said, I think my biggest struggle is making healthy food choices something that I must do because of the surgery. I joined WW because it gives me a great guideline with real food choices but everyday I have to remind myself not to backslide into poor choices!
I tend to struggle with whether to buy the book or boroow it from the library. In a thrift store the other day I noticed 3 books I had on reserve at the library. In fact, one was actually on my library stack at home waiting to be read. Should I buy it? I already have it availbale to read for free. But to own the book…! Finances took over there and I only bought one of the three, but I picked them up and put them down at least 6 times before I left the store!

Choices. Some days they are pretty easy, other days, I can’t make up my mind about anything. I lost my job in February and can’t decide whether to jump back into the employment field or not. There is a lot here at home that needs to be done and I’m enjoying working on it. My job put us in a higher tax bracket so there were times when we wondered if it was worth it. We were trying to pay off our house early so we could retire and travel.
I loved my job and would go back if I could. At the same time, I am enjoying getting all this work done.

Always struggling with deciding whether to return to work now that my kids are older. I am always worried about my skills going kind of stale from lack of use. Thanks for the chance to win an audio copy of this book.

Should I try to get pregnant or not. The question brings up more questions the older you get.
What choice don’t I struggle with? I’m horrible about decisions. The worst is deciding what to eat in a restaurant. It takes me forever!

I struggle with saying no to people when I know that I need time to do something for myself.
I have been working so much lately that I seem to be having to chose between reading or sleeping. 🙂 Reading wins most nights.
I am currently wondering if it was the right choice to leave a well paid job and if it is time to get back in the job market
Oh yes, I am a subscriber and I love the Morning Meanderings 🙂
Already a subscriber…I eagerly await “Morning Meanderings” each day (don’t know how you manage to keep up with it!).
Choices…choices…it’s Saturday morning–do I head to my spinning class or have another cup of tea and veg out a bit at home and just swim later (such a treat, as I’m usually out the door before 7:30am and off and running!)?
