It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Oh!  Kiss the ground and TGIM (Thank God It’s Monday)!  I worked out annual Home and Builders Show all weekend and I am thoroughly  exhausted.  My plan for Monday is to work out in the AM, complete a few tasks up town (including a quick trip to the library) and then the rest of the day is shut off the phone and the outside world and read.

Looking at last weeks It’s Monday, What Are You Reading our comment winner using Random.org is:

  1. I can’t believe I’m number 2 on the Mr Linky list… I am on vacation… destination unknown :).

I finished The Postmistress this morning and The Solitude of Prime Numbers on our flight Friday morning, this is a good week for me.

I have read ZERO pages since arriving.

    Have a great week!

  2. Really enjoy Ted Dekker – look forward to your review on this one.
Love the 100 Cupboards cover – I’d be wanting to dive right in too!

  3. I haven’t made up my mind about Ted Dekker. I know a lot of people like him, but what I’ve read from the covers and book descriptions they sound a bit creepy. This week I’m reading THE ANGEL by Carla Neggers. A teen friend just brought over ECLIPSE and BREAKING DAWN by Stephenie Meyer. I’ll start ECLIPSE the end of this week I hope.

  4. America America (Canin) and The Man in the White Sharkskin Suit (Lagnado). Double-duty culture jumping!

Recently finished Fatal Lies (Tallis), House of Sand and Fog (Dubus) and Shutter Island (Lehane).

Looking for something a little lighter to head up the to-read list!

  5. You had a great week. I have been wanting to read Balancing Acts. I did indeed enjoy The Bride Collector and I look forward to your review. Happy reading!

  6. You’ve got a lot of goodies for me to add to my list! Kingdom Assignment, Balancing Act, and 100 Cupboards all sound like things I would enjoy.

  7. I’m reading The Saint by Madeline Hunter right now but definitely want to read Here Burns My Candle. I;m looking forward to your review on The Bride Collecter by Ted Dekker. I heard it’s kind of gory. I read his book Burn and really enjoyed that one.

  8. the 100 Cupboards cover appeals to me. i think i’d pick up that book and read it just for that! i can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it though.

as always, thanks for hosting this wonderful meme sheila! enjoy your books this week and happy reading 🙂

  9. Balancing Acts looks like a good vacation read-maybe I should get it for my upcoming spring break! I’m not traveling anywhere, but I can pretend…

  10. What an exciting choice of books. I love the look of 100 Cupboards – it has one of those covers that seem to speak at you, if you know what I mean.

I’m reading The Long Story by Andrea Levy and finding it rather hard going.

  11. The reason I love this meme — can discover all these new books I’ve never heard about! I haven’t heard about any of the books you’re reading so I am going to have to check them out!

Am confused about the comment thing, though. How does one prove they’ve commented on other sites?

  12. Have you ever read anything by John B. Olson? I read his book Powers earlier this year, and wasn’t a huge fan personally, but people who like Ted Dekker seem to like his books 🙂

100 Cupboards looks really interesting based on the cover. Can’t wait to read your review!

  13. Hi, Sheila –

Your books for this week look great! I have a friend who is a huge Dekker fan – she actually named her dog Dekker! – but I’ve never read any of his books. I’ll have to give him a try.

Enjoy your quiet afternoon – sound like a great plan!

    Sue

    1. Hi Sue – actually Dekker sounds like a great name for a dog! 🙂
I hope my afternoon stays quiet Sue. I couldnt sleep last night so got up early and then went back to bed at 5:30 am and slept until 8:30. Now I feel behind. Hate that. 🙂

  14. You’re reading books that are on my TBR list, but haven’t gotten to yet!

I’m always on the lookout for a book my son would love, and 100 Cupboards caught my eye a few weeks ago. Looking forward to your review!

I keep hearing how awesome Ted Dekker is too!

    Have a great week!

    Alison

  15. Hi! Sorry to have missed last week, but well, things happen.

Ted Dekker: Have you read the Boneman’s Daughters? Tense!

Thanks again for doing this — I’m not in it for the prizes; I just like to peruse what other people have been reading!

  16. Balancing Acts looked so good that I already put a hold on it at my library! Thanks for the great reviews and for hosting such a fun meme, Sheila!

    Have a great week!

  17. Ooh sounds like a great list of books. I’ll be interested to read your review on Balancing Act. I just picked up an interesting memoir about gifted children called “I Promised You Daisies’ by Robert A. Benjamin. It’s the second of the trilogy called Imperfectly Ordinary. With the bad weather here reading will be a priority!

  18. What a busy week you had, though I suspect all your weeks are very busy. I see you on Twitter late at night, working away. I love the cover of 100 Cupboards. I had a good reading week myself. Thanks for letting me link.

  19. 100 Cupboards actually looks really good. I’m very interested to hear more about it and if you end up liking it!

Well, I’m giving up on the commenting this week with 30 blogs visited (and maybe a few more than that, but who’s counting?). Anywho…so much fun! And man, my reader is overflowing!!!

    Have a fabulous reading week!

  20. I love Ted Dekker so I hope you enjoy his book. I’ll be interested in reading your review. 100 Cupboards has an interesting cover and it looks great.

I visited 10+ blogs today. Enjoy a great reading week!

  21. A lot of reading done last week and I’m about a third of the way through Craig Roberston’s debut novel, “Random” (started Sunday night). I’m still trying to decide if I’ll sign up for the Read-A-Thon — it’s Phuket Bike Week and we’ll be traveling to the “other side” of the island for a few concerts plus shopping for supplies for our trip to Laos the following Wednesday. Might be difficult to get much reading done THAT day 😦

  22. I don’t usually like fantasy, but 100 Cupboards sounds really interesting.

I’ve commented on 10+ blogs today! Have a great week!

  23. Sheila,
I know you are a busy person! And I don’t know how you find the time to visit us all, but I really appreciate it!

    Thank you!

  24. I am so late this week! – oh well, better late – than never! I hadn’t heard of 100 Cupboards – but it looks pretty good!

    Enjoy your reading!

  25. You really had a busy weekend. I hope it all worked out in the good for you.

Looks like you have a busy reading week ahead of you too. Happy reading to you.

I just found out yesterday I’m not going to be able to participate in the read a thon. My Husbands grandparents are going to do Easter that day since his sister is getting married this Saturday, and Sunday will be with my family. Kind of a bummer, but we always enjoy ourselves there. I will have to make up my own read-athon. 🙂

  26. I saw 100 Cupboards in Target a 2-3 weeks ago and put it on my list. I finally requested it last Saturday at the library and I get home to see you have it here. Can’t wait to see what you think of it.

Hmmmm... what do you think?
