Morning Meanderings….

I am home!  I had a good night staying over in town with my friend Sandi serving with the homeless.  Sandi and I almost always take the Thursday night together during our quarterly serving week and we are like teenagers talking late into the night about anything… and everything.

A bonus was when my son showed up from college and surprised us where we were staying and hung out for a couple hours.

Today I have little projects to catch up on (you know the ones that are constantly put off and put for an embarrassing amount of time…)  I have an overdue library book (YIKES!) and a book to pick up, I have payments to make, and dinner to plan.  I have books to donate and packages to mail.  This today is my mission…

HOWEVER… for starters, I have Coffee Cup in hand and I need to spend some time with all of you this morning.  I want to run out and visit blogs and I want to get a book review written so I can start catching up.  No big weekend plans here other than finishing up our serving week so I should have some catch up time.  🙂

How about you – it’s Friday…. the weekend is stretched out before you.  Any plans?

    1. I bet you are right rhapsodyinbooks…. I mean…. now that I think about it, was he my son at all – or merely a disgruntled Library employee? LOL 🙂

  1. I have the inlaws staying this weekend (yikes!) – should be fun though, we plan on a long hike in the Yorkshire Dales and the sun will be out!

I got Thirteen Reasons Why in the post this morning (thanks to you). Looks like a good’n.

    Enjoy your weekend.

  2. What a nice surprise for you to have your son visit for awhile–nice!! We will be babysitting 2 of our grandsons all day tomorrow. We’ll rock the house! LOL

    1. Jeannie it really was! We were staying in a church so it was crazy to be chatting away and in he walks! I havent seen him since he was home from college for Christmas break.

      Ooh have fun this weekend!

  3. We have a big ice fishing contest by me this weekend…so since the men will be fishing some of us gals decided to do a girls night tomorrow. Looking forward to pizza and movies with the ladies!

    1. Oh that’s fun Jo JO. We have an ice fishing contest thingy here too but it is the last weekend of January. I went a couple times but I dont do well in the cold for long periods of time 🙂

    1. Enjoy that Lydia! I am not sure if I will see that on in the theaters or not yet….. time and someone to go with … but on Sunday we are planning to see Shutter Island!

    1. Esme, I think I did when Al went to Honduras…. that first weekend I am not even sure I left the house and I know there was one day I never changed out of my work out clothes….LOL That never happens 🙂

  4. I have tons of stuff to get caught up on, too.Just found out my husband may have to work Saturday, so that puts weekend plans back up in the air.

    1. Oh Hannah, thats a bummer. Hope you get some catch up time.
I am still a bit fried from last nights chatting until after 1 am and then sleeping on a cot. I think I am going to read a bit and then try to get going again…. in a little while…. really….. 🙂

  5. I am going to see the new Tim Burton “Alice in Wonderland,” and it looks fabulous! Plus, it’s the last of my eight tasks for the Alice in Wonderland Challenge.

  6. I have an exciting week-end this week… we’re going to see Stomp on Saturday and then having lunch with our friends who just returned home from the Olympics on Sunday! Can’t wait to hear all their stories.

Good luck with your catch-up day!

  7. How sweet of your son to surprise you like that! Bet he earned major good-son-points! 🙂

I need to write reviews and schedule posts this weekend, as I’m finding that I don’t really have time to go online during the week since I’ve gone back to work. Also need to catch up on housework. All I really want to do is read, but life just won’t cooperate. *sigh*

    Have a great weekend!

    1. He did earn points Alexia – I was really impressed he came to. He even offered to help but there was really nothing to do but hang out and that was alright too. 🙂

I took on more hours starting this past week so I hear you on the lack of time to get on line. By the time I have everything done at night and get to my laptop I have been just too tired to catch up on my blog reading…. I need to figure out how to better tie that back in to my schedule!

  8. I am having Fajitas on a patio with wine tonight and going to the North Texas Irish Festival tomorrow. Should be a fantastic weekend 🙂

  9. I’m still trying to dig out from all of my program stuff that I brought home from the library. I am getting work done on all the projects that have been waiting for me. It is going to take a while to finish. There are projects to do in every room and some can’t be done until I finish something in another room. I’m afraid this pile of boxes may be here for longer than I’d like.
