Today I am up bright and early to go to the auctions with Al. Yes – this is my first time going. We will be in Orlando all day and then tonight we will have dinner in Orlando with my cousins and my aunt who will be flying in today to join us. Al has been so great this week taking me to book stores and to Disney World that now it is my turn to smile real big and do something nice for him. The auctions we are seeing these next two days do not start until after we have headed back to Minnesota so Al is checking them out to see if there is anything he wants to put a bid on for online.
I am taking with me today Hotel On The Corner Of Bitter and Sweet. This is our book club read that we meet to discuss on the 9th, the day we fly back.

I’ve been working on Gone with the Wind. Pleasantly surprised that it is so easy to read. I think I’ve put it off all these years because I thought it’d be a difficult one.
I have never read that Lydia! I need to do that – I havent seen the movie either because I insist I must read the book first. I am very strict with myself…LOL
You’d think it would be, huh? It’s pretty long…but I recall zipping through it pretty fast. It’s one of those memorable reads.
Good to know! 🙂
I’m reading Countess of Scandall by Laurel McKee (review copy from Hachette). It takes place in 1700s Ireland – so far, so good : )
Hope you’re enjoying Florida!
Mary that sounds good! I like historic novels. I am enjoying Florida – thanks 🙂
Hey, as long as you have a good book with you, the auctions should be a piece of cake! I’d be taking my iTouch with me too, in case I want to listen to music, play games or watch something.
Have a great day!
Laura
Oh great idea Laura – I have my IPOD in my purse!
Florida sounds kind of nice right now, we woke up to a big snowstorm that is still going strong! Right now I am reading a mystery called “Schooled In Lies” by Anglea Henry that I am enjoying.
Jill I hear Minnesota is getting hit with 10 inches tomorrow- BLAH! We go back that way on Tuesday.
I just finished “Lit: A Memoir,” and posted my review on http://laurel-rain-snow.blogspot.com
And I just started “The Happiness Project,” which I’m really excited about!
Oh, you definitely have to read “Gone With the Wind,” and forget the movie! It was one of those old and stiff movies that disappointed me! But the book…ah, bliss! You must read it just so you can relate to all the “Scarlett and Rhett” stories!
Have fun today!
Sounds like wonderful books Laurel, I need to read these!
Oh, I hope you enjoy Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet! I really loved it.
I am about half way through wordlily and I am liking it!
I’ve been to a couple of auctions and they can be interesting at first. Think it’s the novelty of it all. Hope you have a great time, as at least the two of you are together. 🙂
I’m reading Penguin Luck today. Started it last night and it’s not bad.
Enjoy your day!
Alexia – I have Penguin Luck almost done. I started it and sat it down before we came to Florida – it is with me and just needs to be finished. 🙂
(Auction was cold today – I was the one who looked like the una bomber with my hoodie tied us around my head… 🙂
Hope you have fun at the auction
It was cold Ryan but it was an experience – we rode around all day in a golf cart
Sounds like you have been having a fun week-I am reading The Forgotten Garden-it is due back tomorrow and has a wait list. I have loved it. We were going to review Calla Lilly-maybe in April-let me know.
I am glad to hear it is a good one Esme! Thats right – Calla Lilly, we should commit to a date in April so I can mark it down and not forget 🙂
I’m between books. I just finished Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward. Hope you have fun!
Thanks Ladytink!
Still slogging through a book called The Aelf Club–Unity. I hate giving negative reviews, but I’m afraid this one may be (slightly) raked over the coals!
Hope you’re enjoying your vacation!
LOL I hear you Michelle – those reviews are tough but they happen.
Yes having a good time.
I am reading What Mother Never Told Me by Donna Hill for review from Kimani Press.
BTW… I gave you a shoutout on my blog today.

Hi Debbie – cool! I checked it out and thank you!
Sounds like a busy weekend but you do have an awesome book to read!! I’ve been concentrating on graphic novels this weekend.
Staci I need to read a Graphic Novel. I still have not. Do you have one you would recommend?
