This was such a good story line! I really liked the main character Rylee Monroe. She immediately came across as sweet and likable. As the story quickly unfolds, Rylee finds herself as the main suspect in a string of crimes that all seem to be centered around homes where she is the dogwalker.
The book is fun and witty. The suspense twist was a nice addition to this read and it was fun to see these two authors connect with two very different writing styles and put together this read that I was quite impressed with. From my understanding, Deeanne is more the fun, quirky, witty writer and Mark writes suspense, both complimented each other nicely in this book.
I was laughing by page 20! A quick read that was perfect for a late afternoon.

I’ve never read any of Gist’s books. Would you say this book is typical of her work? (I know she’s got a co-author on this one, but that’s only part of why I’m asking.)
Wordlily, this is an interesting questions. From what I understand of Deeanna Gist’s work , she is considered to be in a category of ‘Edgy Inspirational’.
I found this information about Gist’s writing style and I really like they way they put this:
But there are also readers out there who don’t necessarily want a conversion scene in every novel they read, yet who also don’t want to read about mainstream characters who live outside the reader’s value system. They are looking for a compelling, gritty novel about Christians who are flawed, tempted, imperfect and who willfully do things they know they aren’t suppose to do. Who have already accepted Christ and are wondering, “Then why the heck is my life so messed up?” They are looking for a character whose shoes they can slip on. Maybe even a novel that they can share with their non-Christian friend.
That’s interesting. Why, then, have I always thought she wrote romance novels, I wonder?
