Morning Meanderings…

Happy Sunday and day 3 in Florida.  Yesterday Al and I had a laid back morning….  I thought we looked funny, each of us at the kitchen table on our lap tops, he exploring the equipment auctions and I writing a review.  We went into town in the afternoon exploring the area picked up a few things at the Super Target, had a wonderful dinner at Red Lobster, then stopped at Penney’s and lastly, a place called Books A Million.

Pause for effect.

I had never heard of a Books A Million before and my husband, heart of gold that he has, stopped and patiently waited for me while I browsed, touched, and yes – I bought.

Today I wanted to share with you what I have decided to call:

Yes!  Evermore!  I have yet to read this author and I am anxious to do so!

Bargain book and I love a good mystery!

I have seen this one on so many blogs and looks like a good one!

Ok – I never said that my Florida Finds had to be all about books.  I needed a pair of casual sandals and I found these little babies!

I am always looking for a pair of tall black shoes…  I love them and my two pair I own are so worn out because I can not find ones I like.  Yesterday – I found these and I am super excited!

*giggle*  Yup – these are my kind of tennis shoes and these will be the shoes that I am wearing around the house today!

Today Al is at the auction.  Tomorrow I will be going with him because Tuesday I need to be here all day for the phone guy to come out.  It looks a little cool and dreary outside today and that’s ok.  I have a book I am dieing to finish and some wrap up things to do for the end of January!  Tomorrow I announce winners of the January.comment giveaway winners AND introduce you to my plans for February!

Of the above 6 items… which one do you like?

  1. I love the second pair of shoes!! I just got the Pillow Book of Lotus Lowenstein also 🙂 Enjoy!

  2. Deanna Stillings

I would like the tennis shoes! What a fun day you had…

  3. Evermore looks goood! I’m going to have to check that out.

  4. Love your Florida finds! I just sent you an email. Let me know if you didn’t get it. I am not trusting of electronic email. Too many have disappeared. 🙂

  5. Love a good pair of black high heels, but those purple tennies are awesome!

    • Thanks Helen – I loved them both. My hubby was such a trooper. We were in Penneys looking for jeans for him and I walked out with a new pair of jeans and shoes as well. 🙂

  6. The shoes were heaven. Especially the black heels.

  7. Hey girl! It is a dreary day in Florida (I’m in Orlando!). Love your shoe finds. If you’re still in the shopping mood, I highly suggest yo find a DSW. (Do they have those around your home town?) Seriously. Open the phone book, find the store, and make a mad dash. 🙂

  8. I’ve heard of Books-A-Million, but never visited one before. You scored some great books, but I’m more impressed with your shoe finds! Love the tall black shoes, but think I’d fall off those heels. Love the tennis shoes! I have a pair of maroon ones that I wear all the time. Can’t wait to see what else you find! 🙂

    • Alexia I had never heard of Books A Million. Kind of reminded me of barnes and Noble but not set up as nicely. It was a little hard to maneuver through the book sections.

      Lovin the tennies too!

  9. Oh, I long to wear those tall heels again! I’ve stopped wearing anything higher than two inches…and those are only for special events.

    Love the tennies!

    Your Florida Finds sound fabulous!

BTW, received my copy of The Smart One and The Pretty One…thanks!

It will be featured tomorrow in MM.

  10. I love the purple Tennies and the Lowenstein book-how fun. I worked on the trial yesterday-plus-did not spend money-negative it was a Saturday.

    Have fun.

  11. Books-a-Million! We have one about 2 miles from my house. I love to go there with my laptop for the wireless, and also to sit and read in peace. My four year-old thinks it’s a Thomas the Tank Engine dealer, as he always likes to go in the kids section to play with the train set. Fine with me– there’s cushy seats for me to enjoy & read in while he plays.

    Love the purple shoes!

  12. The Pilow Book looks so cute!!So i quess i want to have that one. ; )
Also love the tennisshoes, they look comfy!

  13. We have Books-A-Million here too, but I get aggravated with them sometimes. It so crowded with all the non-book stuff at our store and they don’t update their stock very regularly. I found a book from 2000 that had yellowed pages and they were still selling it like new. Sigh…
Love the purple tennies! I’m a purple girl too! Enjoy your Florida stay!!

    • Thanks Sharon – I am enjoying the down time. I get so freaked out leaving the house, and the dogs… and the business… then I get here and it all melts away. Ahhhhh….

  14. The heels are awesome! I’d even consider wearing those and I don’t wear heels. The tennis shoes are more my style heh, but man the heels rock.

  15. Although the black heels are awesome, I think my favorite of the six is the Lotus Lowenstein book! I’ve been waiting to read that one too.

    • Julie all the comments on that book is making me want to pull that one up next! I have one due today though that I must finish for the Social Justice Challenge – it was a January post so I am down to the wire! 🙂

  16. Awesome books! I still need to read Evermore myself…ooh, cute shoes! Looks like you had a great week! 🙂

  17. I do love a bargin book… but my fave would have to be the black sandals! SO CUTE. Sounds like you’re having a great time!

  18. I think my favorite is the Lotus Lowenstein book, although those tennis shoes are great!!

  19. We have Books A Million here in Nashville, but I prefer Barnes & Noble (long story). Everything you bought is great, but I’m going to have to say Evermore and the purple tennis shoes. Those are so cool! Hope you’re enjoying yourself 🙂

  20. Wow how fun!! Sounds like my kind of store. You got some great stuff, cute shoes too.

  21. I’m a firm believer that a girl can never have too many black shoes–but I love the tennies even more!

  22. Love, Love, Love the shoes. Since it’s my buisness I must say they are quite fun.

  23. I love the black shoes. I really like the buckles around the ankle. Those look like my kind of shoes, and the heels too.

I am curious to see what you think of Evermore. I have been hearing things on it and just curious as to what you think.

  24. I love the tennis shoes! Perfect! They look like a shade of purple in the picture and that is my favorite color:) and a bargain book too–you’re on a roll!

  25. Of the six, I’d say EVERMORE. The purple sneakers are cute. Those heels are lethal. I’d break my neck trying to walk in them.
Sounds like you are having fun. Can’t believe you hadn’t heard of Books-A-Million. Great place.

  26. LOVE the shoes! I can’t decide if I like the the purple Cons or the black heels with the ankle strap better. 🙂

I must admit Evermore didn’t live up to the hype for me. If you’ve read Twilight, you’ll be having a serious case of deja-vu.
