Morning Meaderings….

Shhh!  Dont tell Coffee Cup but this morning I am off to Caribou Coffee to meet some of my friends.  Thats right – I am having someone elses coffee.  🙂

There is a little group of five of us girls who used to do this once a week.  Then life happens, job changes…. and suddenly we couldn’t do it anymore.  Today we are getting together like old times and I am so looking forward to the coffee and the conversation.

Today I have work and then I meet with the house sitter (yes – we get a house sitter) to watch the dogs while we are gone because the kennel is $22 a day per dog.  AND we have two dogs.  That is an insane amount of money.  Thus the house/ dog sitter.  Then I should really start to pack….

Whats on your agenda today?

  1. I never go out with friends. For our Christmas party, my work friends played bunko at one of the girls’ house and I had the BEST time!

Today’s agenda: go to work and face my piled-high desk, if my daughter isn’t still sick.

  2. Sounds like a fun way to start the morning. I pay my cat sitter $25. But she does spend tme playing with the kitties which is what I want when we are gone.

  3. What fun, Sheila! I love having coffee out! Maybe I’ll do that later today…but without the friends, since all of my friends in this area are still working full-time jobs! I like to go over to Barnes & Noble after the gym and on Tuesdays, since their coupons go online that day!

On Sunday I had lunch, coffee, and a movie with a friend who will be retiring next month, so I picture coffee mornings in the future!

Your house/dog sitter idea sounds like a good one.

    1. Hi Laurel – the house sitter ususally works out well as I have friends who are single and live in apartments. To come and have full use of a home for awhile is kind of fun and I tell them I have lots of books 🙂

  4. Oooohhh, Sheila cheated on coffee cup! Don’t worry, my lips are sealed. *L*

Hiring a house sitter sounds like a better deal, as it always broke my heart to know my dogs would be cooped up in a kennel all day. At least this way, they are at home with someone to walk and play with them. And you have the added security of knowing your house isn’t sitting empty.

My agenda is pretty light today. Want to catch up on housework and maybe get a haircut. Then it’s quality time with me any my latest book! 🙂

    1. Right Alexia – I hate leaving them in a kennel and this time we are gone even longer than normal so I dont want to leave them in that scary place for so long!

Ooh enjoy your day – I am curious as to what you are reading…

  5. Today– my plans are to recover from yesterday and take a deep breath before tomorrow’s schedule. It’s going to be crazy. Little League season just cranked up, which always makes life a little loony for 4 months.

I’m also hoping to finish Hook & Jill and get a 100-Followers Celebration giveaway posted on the blog. Barnes & Noble gift card, per my readers’ request in a survey.

Hope you had fun at Caribou and pack good books for your trip!

    1. I cant wait to have a “recovery” day. I feel like I am running form one event to the next – even now I am sitting here with my coat on….

      Congratulations on the 100+ followers!

  6. How fun that sounds, maybe coffee cup isn’t very good with time and won’t realize you skipped a day! Are you taking C.C. with you on your trip? If not, I think that length of absence will be noticed!!

I’m going to try and finish the book I’m reading and get my review posted today.

  7. Man, poor coffee cup! Thrust aside for yummy Caribou! What about the poor Holiday station coffee machine, it must miss you too?!

  8. Kennels are expensive. When we go away we try to do it when a family member the animals are fond of can stay with them. They get so finicky. The dog wont eat unless someone is here and here for a little while. She knows her routine and when to eat and go out. She has to have some one around with here as well, she likes to have her company. lol.

Hope all went well for you today!

    1. Melissa my oldest dog (Elmo) will turn his back on me and not look at me or respond when I call him once he sees the suitcase. He knows when I am leaving. I feel so bad!

Hmmmm... what do you think?
