Morning Meanderings…

YES!  The weekend is here.  I am in my chair in the reading room surrounded by books.  Ahhhhhhh!  I really have nothing planned for today and I thrilled about that.   No cooking to do, no cleaning…. all has been done over the last couple of days.  No errands to run.  Al is working on bids today in the office and Justin will be waking soon and then off to work for him.  The house is filled with only me.

My plan is to grab another cup of coffee, settle in with my favorite blanket and bask myself in a world of books.  It has been a long time since I have had a day like this and I am so ready for it.  I have books to finish, reviews to write and I am hopeful that in that sense, today will be quite productive.

How about you?  As Christmas has passed for 2009, are you still traveling and visiting?  On your way back to your homes?  Out checking to see the great after Christmas sales?  Or like me, looking at your day and seeing nothing pressing and demanding of your time and grabbing a book… (if so… what book did you grab?)

  1. My day is pretty much like yours. I plan to catch up on some movies that I’ve had on my DVR for a few weeks, write a few reviews and read a little.

    Enjoy your day Sheila!!

  2. Ah for a day to just read…. No such luck. I’ll do a few present returns/exchanges then we’re packing to go to Florida to visit my brother and his family for a few days. I have packed the Kindle so I hope to get some reading done. Enjoy your reading!

  3. Your day seems a lot like mine Sheila. I ran out to the PO before noon, but other than that, just me and books today, while my hubby watches some sports on tv. Not expecting and company, so that is a good thing. Enjoy your day.

  4. Enjoy your day Diane – I am loving mine! I gave my 4 wheel drive Durango to my son to use for work today since we still are getting a lot of snow so that secured me “carless” at home…. even better! No way to escape 🙂

  5. We’re having a jammies day today — hot chocolate, slippers and jammies, movies, books, and general laziness! Heaven!

Stay warm and snug and enjoy your day!

  6. That sounds wonderful!

We’re thinking about driving into the foothills nearby and seeing if there is any snow to play in with our boys. It sounds like a lot of fun, but it’s pretty cold outside, so we still haven’t decided.

  7. Lucky you-it is 10 pm and I am settling into a new hotel room for the night-I played musical airplanes today-waiting around to see if I could get on a flight. I truly hate the snow and am reminded why I no longer live in Canada-although I miss the friendliness and kindness of the people.

  8. Sounds like a great day!! I went shopping with a friend. A much needed trip and scored some really great deals at my favorite clothing store! Hope you got a lot of reading in!

    1. Hi Julie – I did get some reading in and caught up on all my blog hopping that I had missed the last couple weeks. I really do enjoy reading what is happening on other blogs 🙂

  9. I’m home and getting back into the reading swing of things (oh and bugging hubby on starting the shelves for my bookcases). I just finished two books yesterday and I’m trying to decide which one I’m picking up today.

  10. I’m still at home, my vacation ends on the 4th so lots of reading time! So far I’ve plowed through The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor, In the Woods by Tara French, The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne and now my teenage sister has me reading a few Gabrielle Zevin books. Still to come… Bel Canto by Ann Patchett and The Angels Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
