Morning Meanderings….

It’s Christmas Eve and we have snowfall and lots of it. I just looked at the weather report and found this:

Statement as of 7:36 AM CST on December 24, 2009 … Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am CST
Saturday…

* Road conditions will continue to deteriorate during the day.  There may be somewhat of a let up in the snow from midday into  early evening… but the next round of heavy snow will move back in tonight… and continue into Christmas day.

What does this mean for us?  Well – I work in the office today.  I have 4 wheel drive in my Durango so I can pretty much get anywhere.  I have a couple things I forgot to pick up at the grocery store I will hit that this morning as well….  and  I am stocked up to endure the weekend here in  the house if need be and that would actually be quite appealing to me after all the running of late.

Maybe the guys will get the snowmobiles out this weekend and if they ride – I get to stay home and read!  🙂

I’ll be posting through the weekend so stop back if you can…. and if you are traveling wherever you are drive safe and have a wonderful weekend!

**ONE REMINDER:  The Gift Card giveaway will end today for the YA Reviews.  Check that out here – one person will be receiving a $20 Amazon gift card!  Today is the last day to enter and by doing so you will be helping a wonderful person out!  🙂

For now I leave you with this (these are pictures of my yard this past April of 2009 as well as a couple other pics I took the liberty of adding……. I woke up and gasped…. it looked like Narnia.

  1. Wow-that looks really pretty-it always does when you do not have to go out in it. I am hoping that I will be able to go home on Saturday.

    Have a wonderful Christmas.

    1. Car is warming up as I type Esme…. forgot foil and I am hoping the gas station up the road is open…. my turkey is in the oven… unfoiled…. GAH! 🙂

      Merry Christmas friend!

  2. Have a wonderful Christmas, Sheila! Wishing you and your family all good things in the new year!

Looking forward to seeing you at my blog sometime…you’re always welcome! 😉

    1. Thanks Joannne, merry Christmas to you as well. I will be stopping by your blog soon – thank you for the personal invite! 🙂

I am usually much better at visiting but life has been so busy lately and by the time evening comes I am too shot…. that should change now.

  3. Love the pictures, the trees look so beautiful…makes you want to snuggle. And the snow falling on the site is fun too! Have a happy Christmas!

  4. Happy Christmas Sheila! I hope you have a wonderful Holiday! We are also getting hit up here with the snow. But I’m not complaining, spending a lot of time reading and working on the blog.

    Merry Christmas!

  5. I’m so jealous of your “Christmas” weather! I love white Christmases! Mine is going to be cold and rainy…but no snow…not even a little bit of ice! I’ve thought about getting some of that fake snow stuff people put on their trees and covering my yard with it. 🙂 It’s just not the same though!

    1. I guess Julie I would prefer snow to rain but I do not really like snow and I know…. why do I live in Minnesota then? I ask myself this every winter…. ha ha

The fake stuff would probably get messy with the rain! I hope your weekend is wonderful!

  6. We’ve got the snow, too, and ended up not getting to be with family this Christmas. I miss that but I’m kind of enjoying the much more relaxed version of Christmas we’re having. We’re well stocked on necessities and goodies so being snowed in the next couple of days sounds kind of fun!

    1. Oh Lisa – sorry you will miss out on the family this year. I agree with the relaxed version…. it used to bother me that we did not have the extended family that most others do and now I think maybe that was more for my kids sake. Now I enjoy a quiet Christmas…. 🙂

And snowed in means not feeling guilty about reading! Ha ha

    1. HI MarthaE, that is exactly what I thought when I woke up that morning. The snow had froze to the trees and it looked like a different world right outside my back door!
