Morning Meanderings…

Morning all.  I think it is quite possible I am….blogless…. postless?  Speechless?  I am just here this morning with Coffee Cup and really nothing witty or not so witty to say.

The movie we went to last night?  Couples Retreat?  yeah…. not so good.  However the company of my two friends Suzette and Karol made it laugh out loud funny where I constantly had to keep asking, “are we sure this is PG13”?  Seriously frightened me a bit about what they consider acceptable in a movie of that rating.  And yes, Suzette laughed at me and said I must be getting old….  GAH!  (All three of us are the same age).

I really want to see Blindside!  How about you any movies coming up that are “a must see“?  I obviously need the recommendations.  😉

  1. I agree with you about Couples Retreat – mildly entertaining, but not great.
I saw the trailer for Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief last night, and it looks GREAT! Of course it’s not out until February. Sherlock Holmes looks really good too.

  2. Okay, I am really not good at censoring my kids. I homeschool, so they are pretty much sheltered enough. I do however watch movies for sexual content for Nona. Believe it or not, I don’t worry about violence. They watch the educational channels and trust me, you can’t get much more violent than that. Like you, I’ve looked at some of the movies and wonder who rates them.

      1. Not worried. My kids will be grown and I’ll be done mothering. It will be up to the next generation to take over. I’ll be on to the next phase of my life. 😉 Counting down the years…lol.

  3. My husband and one of our daughters say Blindside last week and loved it.
I have to admit blushing yet laughing when hubby and I saw Couples Retreat (the yoga scene)…

  4. Well, that settles it for me! Not going to see “Couples Retreat.” From the previews, I thought it seemed like just another ridiculous movie with Vince Vaughn.

I only ever enjoyed him when he was in a movie with Jennifer Aniston awhile back…and it was so memorable that I can’t remember the name of it!! LOL.

There’s a movie coming out (or it’s out in some cities now, but Fresno doesn’t always get the smaller movies!), called “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee,” with Robin Wright Penn.

I’ve read about it and seen some previews. I think I’d like it, but if it doesn’t come to Fresno, I’ll have to wait for the DVD!

    Or go to LA!

  5. Blind Side and Sherlock Holmes both look really good. Can’t go wrong with Robert Downy Jr! Sadly, we haven’t been to a movie in a long time. Audiences around here can’t keep their mouths shut, so comment thoughout the whole movie. Why pay $10 & not be able to enjoy? We wait for them to come to cable or rent them instead. Yes, we’ve turned into old fogies! *L*

    1. Thanks Helen – I love books that become movies – that is always a plus for me as well. 🙂 Thanks for the updates blog URL too…. I noticed that yesterday – but I knew who you were. 🙂

  6. I totally agree on the PG-13 ratings!! And I also want to see Blindside but we seldom actually get to the movie theater – I wonder how long until it’s out on DVD at the library?

  7. I want to see Blindside, Avatar, and the new Alice In Wonderland movies. I have seen New Moon and A Christmas Carol most recently. I read more than watch movies though! 🙂

  8. I’m really wanting to see The Road but it’s not out here yet. I saw 2012 yesterday and wasn’t that impressed. It was better than Ninja Assassins which I’m still not sure if I liked yet.

  9. I agree with Blindside & Sherlock Holmes being must sees, but I’m a wait for DVD person. I rarely go to the theater. Last movie I saw at the theater? I think it was Lakeview Terrace.

  10. The new George Clooney movie, “Up In the Air” is supposed to be good. I think it opens this weekend, as there is a review in today’s paper! The ads for Sherlock Holmes look pretty good too.
