Morning Meanderings…

This morning I am Coffee Cup free.  Yup.  Don’t worry…. after 8:30 I will be back with Coffee and all will be right with the world again.  🙂

A friend of mine had a baby 6 weeks ago and she and I had done weight watchers together before her pregnancy.  Today she is starting up again and I am a life time member but like to hold myself in check, so I will be going with her.  I am a little nervous for this initial weigh in as I am usually a pretty good eater but with the changes to our life in mid September when Chance came to stay with us, my eating habits changed and so did my work out schedule…. or lack there of.  🙂  Honduras is always impossible to eat right as well as wow do I love the food they make there and really do not have any control over what we are served…. go with the flow.  Anyway – this makes my first time on the scale in about 2 months.  Yipes!

On a  book note –  I found a link yesterday to a sight where you can download 100 free audio books.  I wasn’t an audio fan until this year when I had quite a bit of car time and then discovered I love them!  Finally a way to read and drive at the same time!  AWESOME!  I am a huge fan and haven’t looked into these yet but passing the info on to any of you who may be interested.  I usually prefer a background book over background music.

And my final morning note is last night I had an hour long conversation with the author of Jantsen’s Gift, Pam Cope.  I had requested an interview by email with her regarding the book and she responded saying she would rather do a phone interview.  How fun!  I think she interviewed me as much as I interviewed her!  Watch for that post coming up in the next few days here.

Later – I have book reviews (of course) and hopefully the Thursday Word Balderdash will make its appearance as well!  Have a super great day!

  1. Looking forward to more on the phone interview!

Good luck at WW. I’ll bet you and your friend will be good support for each other. Today is my WI day. My best friend and I went back about 4 weeks ago. We’re both returning life time members. Trying to keep on top of it but I have some to lose (again).

    1. Hi Mary,

I am hoping to get the interview up tomorrow. 🙂

Thanks – WW went well. I am only 4 pounds up since my last weigh in 10 weeks ago and I haven’t been really following good habits so this I can deal with and fix! 🙂

  2. Oh, I know what you mean about those weigh-ins! I had done the Curves food plan when I joined the gym and lost a lot of weight…and even maintained for quite awhile. Then I got lazy with the workouts, etc. So I joined Jenny Craig and now do weigh-ins every Friday! I lost most of the weight that I gained back, but getting to the gym is my bugaboo!

    Good luck with all that!

I have a blog where I write about that particular journey and other obsessions/compulsions! LOL.

    1. Thanks for the link Laurel. I took off 34 pounds from last Oct to January 09 and have kept it off. Woo Hoo! It is a constant though to keep up on the eating right and working out….

  3. Wow, an hour long conversation with an author! We talk to author’s with my book club every other month but some month’s an hour would be a really long conversation even with 8 or 9 or us asking questions. She must have been very interesting!

  4. Wow- a conversation with Pam Cope-I would imagine the two of you had a lot to talk about-is there anyone you have nothing to say to (hahaha). I am looking forward to reading about it.

  5. How fabulous that you got to talk to Pam Cope. I still have to read her book.

I am a Weight Watchers target member too. I am finding it hard to stay at target at the moment with the festive season nearly upon us.

    1. HI Vivienne! Its funny, I always seem to get going on this around the Holidays…. probably the hardest time of year to stay on track and yet that is usually when I get going… I always have liked a challenge. 🙂
