Morning Meanderings

a big improvementOne week out today until I leave for Honduras and I am pretty not prepped for anything.  Yet.  I think today I will start packing, getting my passport ready, call in for malaria medicine and Ambien…

And on this end, I am also prepping some great posts and guests for this blog… that has actually been fun and I am excited about what has been coming in so far.

I plan to continue my Morning Meanderings during the time I am gone (OCt 31 – NOv 7)…as long as I have internet, but the meanderings will be more about what I am doing while I am away and probably what I am reading. I even already have planned which books are going with me!

How about you?  When you travel or vacation  do you take books to read?  Is it a certain type of book that goes with you?

  1. I always take books with me when I go anywhere! I usually like lighter books when on vacation, just because I know I won’t get a lot of quality time to sit and read uninterrupted.

  2. Learned my lesson a long time ago that if I don’t take books with me on vacation, I go thru withdrawal. It’s not pretty…

Usually take a few paperbacks with me and if I’m going overseas, I always plan on buying some while there. Love foreign bookshops almost as much as I love foreign supermarkets! *L* I’m always amazed at how many wonderful authors I discover that aren’t yet available in the US.

    Enjoy your trip!

  3. I went on a week-long vacation to the Napa Valley in August, and even though I had lots of stuff to do there, I brought along three books.

I discovered halfway through the week, though, that I had run out! I’d finished them all. But then I found a bookshelf with “giveaways” in the resort office.

What I learned—it’s better to take more books than you think you will read!

Hope you have a good trip, Sheila.

  4. Can’t be too careful with the airline restrictions though! I packed too many books for a trip this spring. The nice lady at the check-in had me move several books (I had them in the outside pocket of the suitcase) to my daughter’s lighter luggage. Saved me a fee for overweight luggage, but the net weight for the plane was the same. Think paperback!

  5. Oh I am so envious! I hope you have a wonderful time. I always bring a pile of books with me when I go on vacation….which I’m hoping will be soon!

Hmmmm... what do you think?
