It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?

Today I am cruising through A Tree Grows In Brooklyn.  This is our book club read that is being reviewed tomorrow Monday what are you readingnight and I have procrastinated on getting it read.  The review is taking place here at my home and we are going to potluck to the theme of the book.  One thing I have discovered about A Tree Grows in Brooklyn – there is a lot of talk about food.  It should be interesting to see what everyone brings.

Last week I finished:

  • Football is For Lovers (blog tour this week – review will be up on Wednesday)
  • The Finanical Lives Of The Poets by Jess Walters (blog tour this week, review up on Wednesday)

As for my week of reading… I have set another lofty goal but as you look at the plan know this…

  • I have finished Novel Destinations last night so that one is off the pile.

  • Receive Me Falling I started last week and had to put down to get going on A Tree Grows In Brooklyn.

  • The 13 Days of Halloween is a blog tour and that review is up yet today, read and scheduled at this time.

  • The Guernsey Literary and Potato Pie Society is going in the car with me when we road trip tot he cities for the Women of Faith Conference this coming Thursday afternoon.  I am not driving so that means I can read a bit!  🙂

  • The 39 Clues is a book I am curious about and this one as well is going in the car with me for the weekend conference

001Yes… as always a lofty plan but when I break it down,  I think doable.  Chance goes home tomorrow afternoon after being with us for a month.  I am saddened by this as I love having him around.  With this move, my reading routine should increase as I will no longer be playing video games and watching TV with him late into the evenings.

What are you reading this week?  Stop over to J Kayes Blog and be sure to add your reading post to Mr Linky so others may stop by and visit you!

  1. Got any chocolate chip banana bread left? LOL

No snow yet here in St. Louis, thank goodness. I’m not quite ready for “that” season yet.

Check out my list…I’m going to be reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn as well.

As always, love your blog and the thoughtfulness you put into it. Have a great week of reading 🙂

    1. LOL Lynne – I do! I am staying away from it today – in fact i am on my way tot he gym now. 🙂 I looked at your list – it will be fun to hear your take on A Tree Grows In Brooklyn 🙂

      1. That’s where I need to go 🙂 Hey, you know what I do now? I take my book to the gym and read while I’m doing the elliptical. Kills two birds with one stone! Love it 🙂

    1. I am hoping to have some time this weekend to dig into the first one and see if it is a fit for me…. and fo course if I need to purchase the rest of them! 🙂

  2. I too “read” The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society in the car, although I cheated and listened to it. It’s much safer than reading and driving at the same time! It was a great book, one of those stories that managed to perfectly weave together the serious stuff with the light stuff.

    1. I have learned to love books on audio and becuase you are right Alissa – reading while driving is dangerous – LOL

I once was reading a book while pulling up in a drive through and I heard the lady working their gasp and mumble, “She is reading while she is driving!” which I was not…. but I could see why she thought I was.

  3. I like this What are you reading Monday idea, and will join in soon, maybe today.
I want to read the Guernsey Literary book too, so will check here to read your review.
