Morning Meandering….

a big improvementRainy cold morning in Minnesota.  I drove Chance to school hurried to the office and realized that I must have left my keys on the filing cabinet yesterday as I am keyless….

Locked out.  No entry.  Nada.

No one else comes in until 9 and since I work in a building that has many other businesses I am sitting in the foyer at a little round table, Coffee Cup in one hand and writing this post with the other until someone else comes in. And of course I have the book with me that I was going to write my review for this morning, Sir Dalton and the Shadow Heart by Chuck Black.

Lap top.  Coffee Cup.  Book.  … things could be much worse.  🙂

Today I am kind of nostalgic…. maybe it is the music being piped in through these halls.  Mariah Carey is singing a Hero comes Along and I am actually tearing up.  What’s with that?

And now I’m Too Sexy For My Shirt is playing by Right Said Fred… the nostalgic spell is broken.  Now my eyes are rolling…  LOL

Have a great morning everyone.  Any favorite rainy day reads out there?

  1. Well, the tearing-up in my case would be blamed on hormones these days. 😀 How perfect that I’m Too Sexy came on and probably snapped you out of it, lol. And now I want to thank you for putting THAT tune in my head!

  2. The older I get, the more teary-eyed I get at the littlest things. My sons saying something sweet to me…here comes the tears. My husband absent-mindedly stroking my hair (which I’ve been growing out)..waterworks! ah, hormones..how we love thee!

My favorite rainy-day author is Debbie Macomber. Her books always lift me up and she always has something new coming out!

Have a good day, my book friend!!

    1. Hi Sharon – Debbie Macomber – a blast from my past! I love her series where the book titles are street addresses…. O thought that was brilliant! You have a good day as well! 🙂

  3. Isn’t it nice that if you have a book, you have a friend at all times? Boy, what radio station is still playing that song? When Mariah sings “Can’t Live Without You”, it jerks me back to a teen age moment. “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay gets me totally rockin’ out — that’s hard to do for someone my age 🙂

Watched a simple, but great movie last night where the music made the whole thing a tear jerker — “Taking Chance” A military escort travels to bring an Iraqi soldier home to his funeral.

My newest favorite adventure, clean-romance book is “These is my Words”. My, My — I sure am chatty this a.m.

  4. Another rainy day favorite of mine…anything by Maeve Binchy. Her books are cozy, wonderful reads that just beg for cups of tea, along with the books. And perhaps a crumpet or two!
