Morning Meanderings…

Still biking – day two now and as of the time this post is up I should be biking from Hinckley Minnesota to Duluth a big improvementMinnesota…. the last 75 miles of this ride.  I wonder what I am thinking right now?  LOL  (Read about this ride I am doing here).

During my usual morning stride through the blogesphere with the ever full, ever wonderful Coffee Cup, I had recently read another great review on a blog called Bibliophile By The Sea.  The book is called Half Broke Horses by Jeanette Walls.  This is the author who also wrote The Glass Castle which has been on my shelf for over a year and I still have not read it.  have heard wonderful things about the Glass Castle and now seeing this book – I want to read it too!

Please take a moment today and stop over at Bibliophile By The Sea and read this wonderful review.

**I will be back in town tonight… hopefully after a successful (and not too wet) bike ride and a little reading time as well!  ~Sheila

  1. Your ride sounds amazing! My husband does long distance bike rides too, but I’m not in good enough shape to join him. Maybe when the kids get older and I’ve had more time to work up to it. Right now my distance limit is about five miles.

I hope that you have a wonderful day of biking!

  2. Hi, Sheila! I also love biking. It’s been part of my workout lately. Although, unlike you, I usually bike in the late afternoons (after the work day).

  3. I used to cycle when I was still at school but somehow once adult life started I never got on a bike again.Unfortunately in SA it is really dangerous to ride as there are no real bike paths and the drivers are really intolerant of cyclists (me sometimes I must add).It sounds really great.I am going to think about this!

  4. I so envy you being able to bike like this across MN. At least you have had great weather. Are the leaves turning colors yet? It might be a time soon for a short car trip to the Northern parts of MN just to see the colors.
Good luck on the remainder of your trip.

  5. I just went to Bibliophile by the Sea’s web blog and read the review. The book sounds fantastic. I love books that feature strong female leads who conquer adversity. I too have Glass Castles sitting waiting for me to read it. I guess I should get to it before I purchase this new one. Thanks for the tip.

  6. Sorry about this but I need to change the first comment’s statement about the weather. The weather in the southern part of the state has been good, but it has not nearly been so good up north. My fingers typed faster than I was thinking.

  7. I just discovered Bibliophile By The Sea this weekend, and I really liked her reviews. I would love to read this new Jeanette Walls book – The Glass castle was amazing!
