Good morning!
The sun is shining here in central Minnesota which makes me happy in so many ways! We are supposed to have a week of 50-60 degree weather so by next weekend I am thinking we will be pretty much snow free.
Last night my cousins and their hubbies and my hubby and I all got together for an evening out. There are five of us girl cousins that try to get together once in a while and that I think is kind of awesome. Last night we brought the guys too and ended up grabbing some dinner and good conversation.
I did not take pictures, I should have I know… but today since my boys are on my mind (and apparently my theme is family today) I thought I would post pics of them for Alyce’s Saturday Snapshot…
A little back ground history of these two… Justin is the younger, at 21 and goes to College in Mankato. Brad is the older and is in the Navy. Growing up they were complete opposites but now they have this cool friendship.

Brad currently is stationed in Florida and Justin, at this time is in Honduras on his 5th Mission Trip. So proud of them both.
As for myself today, I think I am pulling the plug on all activity. I woke up early and made some tea and have been engrossed in pandemonium by Laure Oliver ever since. I plan to read and catch up on a couple of reviews I need to write and a couple of bonus posts I have been working on.
I look forward to a day of much reading and just letting the “to do’s” hang tight while I take a day of real relaxation. 😀

Good plan, Sheila! Love the photos and applaud you for curling up with your book and letting the “to-dos” go.
Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT
I normally do Zumba on Saturday but today I just feel like staying quiet… away from the noise of life. I may see if AL wants to go to a movie late afternoon.
Brothers … what loveable goofballs, huh? It’s fun to see the relationships changing between our three kids, as they grow into adulthood!
Enjoy your book today! The to-dos will certainly wait!
They are fun to see now Susan as I love that they get along and can kid… there were some years growing up I wondered if they would ever get along.
Nice photos of your boys, thanks for sharing! I have had to put a rule on my blog (sniff sniff) that I can’t talk about our son or post photos… if you can follow this you might find it creepy, he’s 24, he dated a girl for a year his junior year of HS, the girl AND her mother are still obsessed with him. The mom wants her daughter to marry our son… can you imagine?!!! They dated when she was 15. If I post about him, the girl texts my son and his long time girlfriend, which is never helpful. So I hardly ever mention him. He’s coming home this week! woohoo
Rambling…. I hope you have the most wonderful day today, relaxing. ps: My husband is coming home today, for an entire week before heading to Africa and the middle east.
ps: I love that you have family around. I have no cousins, and only one brother who lives 1,000+ miles from me. I envy you a little 🙂
I’m so sorry that this girl and her mother have ruined things for your family. Obsession is a terrible thing. Hope they will both grow up and leave your son alone soon.
I dont have a lot of family so it is fun that about a year ago the girl cousins started planning meet ups for dinners. There are 5 of us and we joke as my youngest cousin was an “oops” and is 8 years younger than me. If not for her, I would be the youngest… we love to harass her about that. 😀
That is creepy Mari! And a bummer!
Hubby and son home this week? NICE!!! Enjoy 🙂
What wonderful boys you have! Your plan for a day of reading is a great way to spend a Saturday 🙂
It seems like there is never enough time Trish! I mean to read then I wind up spending my day at the gym, then as long as I am up town, I pick up things for dinner, or shop, then when I get home int he afternoon, I will start doing laundry or something… pretty soon the day is gone and I haven’t even picked up the book! 😀
Today… I am trying to correct that! It is currently just a little after 9 am… I have read 50 pages, put up this post, commented on twenty blogs… I feel PRODUCTIVE 😀
You have every reason to be proud! What great photos — thanks for sharing!
Thanks 😀
Good for you…
I hope you enjoy your day Patty 🙂
Someone always moves, that’s part of the charm when taking pictures of people.
LOL – in this pic it worked Eva…. it makes me smile as Justin cracks up and Brad looks annoyed… it was a great last from the past!
Such handsome sons!! Taking the day off, Sheila, and relaxing sounds like a great plan . Enjoy!
Thanks Kaye 😉 I think I am going to have a wonderful day 🙂
I like that first picture, even if it’s a little blurry–I always love pictures of people laughing. They’re always so joyful, and often more genuine than the usual “say cheese” expression.
Enjoy your restful day!
Right! I agree Cheryl, it really brings out both their personalities.
You have a couple of handsome sons! I have two younger boys and right now it seems like they fight more than they are friends. I am hoping when they grow older they will learn to appreciate each other.
It can happen Lisa 😀
We’re supposed to have 70s all next week! 😀 We’ve got friends coming to visit (this meet-up has been scheduled and postponed and rescheduled, etc., so many times) this afternoon, and I’m really excited about seeing them. It’s been years.
Hannah that sounds like a lot of fun! Enjoy! And the weather too! 😀
I’ve got that same plan today! Great pictures of your boys. It is awesome that the cousins still get together. I hope that is true for my kids and their cousins. They are still close in their 20s & 30s.
That is cool Nise! This cousin get together is new for us.. just this past year or so… but it is a great idea otherwise we would truly never see each other… 🙂
Very nice photos! Close-knit families are wonderful. I have tons of cousins but we don’t get together all that much.
My cousin Cheryl just made a decision and asked if we would all like to occasionally get together at 4:30 or 5 pm every couple of months for dinner and to catch up. We all agreed and it has been a huge success. We just meet at a restaurant, last night we brougt the hubbies too for the first time.
I might try that. Start small with the first cousins and then work our way out to the second and third.
Those are great pictures! My boy is stationed in Florida at the moment while he finishes A school. Glad he was able to come home and visit recently.
It is nice to have them back 🙂
Those are great pictures — definite family resemblance there!
Thanks Lisa 🙂
Good for you! That’s been my Saturday here as well…real relaxation. This evening we are attending a friend’s surprise 50th birthday party, so that should be a blast! Have a terrific weekend!
I am looking forward to your review of Pandemonium.
Have fun Shirley – I just now finished Pandemonium and I have MUCH to say 😀
So good to relax sometimes. Great shots.
Thanks Irene 😉
Nice photos of your boys. I love when are hear siblings stay close as adults.
It is cool to see them interact now Diane… I thought the day would never come 😀
Thanks for sharing the photos of your boys — sounds like they’re happy with what they’re doing in life!
(and I’ve read your more recent blog posts … seems you enjoyed a day unplugged!)
Dawn can not believe how much it rejuvenated me! I have been filled with energy ever since… and dang my house looks good! 😛
I love that first candid shot! Very cool that they get along despite being different.
