Morning Meanderings… Weekend Healing

Good morning.

It’s Tuesday… again.  Last Tuesday, I would rather erase from my memory… but here we are.  A week out and while the pain is still there… it is now manageable and I can see more clearly that we did the right thing.

I spent the weekend with a few friends from the bike rides I do, my cousin’s wife Rhonda, and my friends Belinda and Sheila.  We went up North and checked out a few shops in the area, ate great food, hiked a bit in the Tettegouche State park and watched a couple of movies.

I think the weekend was just what I needed… a little time to get away and relax.  I came home feeling renewed and stronger again.  Friends… are counselors and healers.  I am lucky to have them.

My one regret was I did not get a picture of the four of us together.

Last night Al and I watched tv and ate pizza…. that’s how we roll on a Halloween night.  😛  How about you?  What did you do on Halloween?

    1. Thank you Kathy. It is on again and off again but the good news is that I am able to have more off time…. coming home every day to Bailey (13 years old shih-tsu) is hard, I swear he wonders what happened and I know he is alone.

  1. We had two (count ’em 2) trick-or-treaters! They live two houses away from us. Since we’re out in the country, we never get more than a few. Still, Dave bought huge bags of candy. 😀 Guess who will hide them from me?

I’m glad you got away. How is Al taking the loss of Elmo? And the boys?

    1. HI Barbara… we had two trick or treaters as well and I too always buy too much candy….. 😛 Al and I sat with the bowl between us while we caught up on last weeks Survivor episode….

Al is doing better than me… I think it is a guy thing…. he grieves differently, we both are paying extra attention to Bailey now, knowing he is suffering too (Baily is 13 – shih tsu)

The boys have been great, calling and checking on me… I have talked to each of them three times this past week as they listened to me cry and carry on…. patients of saints, wishing they were here in town to help me through this.

  2. Sheila, glad to hear you are finding peace. We stayed home with the lights on low. The poor kitties went running for the hills with every ring or banging on the door.

  3. So glad that your heart is healing! Sounds like your weekend was so much fun!

Last night I went Trick or Treating with my daughter and her 2 kids. We had a blast!!

  4. It sounds like you had a good time. We had pizza last night too and then I took my youngest trick-or-treating by myself since my older son decided to go to a party with his cub scout friends.

Hmmmm... what do you think?
