Morning Meanderings: The Horrible Awful ;)

Good morning!  😀  Looks like it will be a nice day here today and I am thrilled as it is my day off and I get to actually enjoy it a bit!  😀

I have a BIG week coming up – a 75 mile bike ride tomorrow in Itasca Minnesota and then come Monday I am at a camp through Friday morning which I am excited about – more on that on Sunday!  Today thought, I am going to go work out this morning, come home and do a little house cleaning, a little reading and later shopping for camp. Maybe take a bike ride…

Why did I call this post The Horrible Awful?  Well… if you have read or seen The Help, you know why… 😛  I just think that is so funny and went to the movie a second time yesterday afternoon with 4 friends.  Yes, worthy of seeing twice and if you have not read this book I urge you to do so. 

As for how I did on week one of My Fitness Pal…. the results are below.  How about that?  4 pounds!  😀  This next week I think may be a bit harder as at camp all the meals are provided but I am going to try to take in much of my own and keep my eating on track.  I am also taking my bike so I can hopefully get out and ride a bit too.

    1. The camp is for people with AIDS and their families. I am writing Connie’s story (Connie is a 30 year survivor of AIDS, she got it in 1981from a blood transfusion). She is the director of this camp, a a huge woman of faith, and I am going to watch her teach for the week and help her.

      I am excited and nervous all at the same time! 😀

    And I’m thinking of seeing The Help again, too. When I first saw it, the theater was pretty crowded. Sometimes, with noise, etc., I miss some of the dialogue when the theater is like that.

    1. It was worth seeing a second time Laurel. We went at 4 yesterday but unfortunately there was a row of people behind us and this one guy had a comment about everything…. talk talk talk, laugh too loud, shout at the screen…. GAH. 😯

      I guess even the 4 pm isn’t safe 😛

    1. I just started this program (My Fitness Pal) last week Jill, I am usually good at exercising but not so good at watching what I eat… now I am doing both. 😀 I rode bike last Sunday for 15 miles, thats it for this past week. I am making up for food damage I have done over the past year and a half and getting strong again after the six weeks of doing nothing in a cast. 😀

      I am pretty determined so we shall see 😀

  2. Sounds like a fun week ahead. Good luck on the bike ride – no mishaps. Reminds me of something I saw in a yearbook: Have an accident? No thanks, I already had one. 🙂

  3. Good Luck with the cycle ride, I have hardly used my bike this summer it has been so hot, not complaining I love the summer.
    I have The Help high up on Mt TBR and am certainly looking forward to reading.

    1. I think I have used mine quite a bit this year even with being 6 weeks out…. I think this year I have done more of the large rides then I have ever done – thanks to great people to ride with 😀

  4. I went to see The Help last Sunday and loved it. Then, I finally got my aunt to relinquish our copy since my mom gave it to her to read, so now maybe I’ll finally get to read it, too!

  5. Great job! I’m still using dailymile but it only tracks exercies. In the first two weeks I lost 5 pounds but for the last two I have been about the same even with added walking and running. I am trying to think of it as adding muscle since I am running 2 to 5 miles a day and walking at least one. I may need to start looking at what I am eating a bit better too though.
