Good morning. Minnesota is known for its crazy weather. It’s actually probably what I like least about where I live. I do enjoy the warm springs, gorgeous trees, brilliant summers, and bike rides in the fall….
However once we get into the snowy type weather…. I would much rather hibernate until spring is here again.
SO….
you can imagine my angst as I went to bed last night and the wind was blowing hard and my beautiful lawn was sprinkled in white.
AND…
you can imagine me (if you will) sitting here this morning at 7:20 a.m. and it is still pitch black outside and we can officially say we have had the first snow.
GAH! GAH! GAH! GAH! GAH! GAH! GAH!

I think it is these weather changes that make me tired. I have been going to bed earlier, and not my usual energy. I really need to fix that. 😀 Today, I would love to know what weather you are experiencing in your little piece of the world.

I’ve enjoyed the cooler weather, which means somewhere in the 60s-70s.
I think it was supposed to dip to 40 last night. But it doesn’t snow here…well, it did once since I lived here, about thirty years ago! And the snow lasted just a few hours.
I like the 80’s Laurel and I am not just talking about big hair bands 😀
I like warm and today is chilly – even in my office. GAH! I want to go home with a blanket and a book.
Holy cow! It’s still hot as blazes here, so it’s hard for me to imagine it snowing somewhere.
I am coming to visit Kathy! 😀
in chicago we are living up to our name the windy city…trees are gorgeous!
snow in october is just wrong….as is our local pool store which has their christmas trees up already and all the malls are screaming “the lowest prices of the season” season? what season? it’s fall!!!
Yes Diana, I agree! Snow in October is just wrong. Its cold and wet and is making me rethink my plans of going with a friend of mine and her children trick or treating this year. BRRRR!!!!
I worked retail for 14 years and i remember the push to get the trees up and Christmas decorations out… how annoying! 😀
The Chattanooga (Tennessee) area has had a tornado or two, but the wind and rain have ceased. Even though the day is gray, I left for school just after 7:00 a.m. wearing short sleeves because it’s supposed to be around 75 degrees Fahrenheit today. It’s comfortable weather for me, though most of my students are wearing jackets — or at least long sleeves.
Still tornado weather for you Bonnie? Ours is more June – August.
36 degrees currently here. Still cold. 😀
I heard a snow forecast for MN and Chicago this morning on the news! Wow, that’s just too early. It looks pretty, though…nice photos.
Sue
I had to leave for work Sue or I could have got some better pics with a little light to them 😀
Please keep that snow over there! Chicago is even too close. It is warm here this morning, sunny but very, very windy (50-60 mph gusts). I am wondering if I need to take extra weight along on my walk.
Oh but Nise – I do not want the snow!
😀
Wow, that’s insane.
It is April… that it is. 😀
I’m not ready for snow here yet! We are having the huge wind event here. Guess I won’t complain after seeing your deck! Hope the snow melts and it warms up for Halloween!
Me too Beth – I could really use a few more days… errr…. weeks of warmer weather.
Snow in October…I cannot even imagine. Actually, we never get snow in Santa Barbara. I hope it goes away for Halloween
I hope it goes away Helen but the forecast looks the same over the next few days. GAH!
It was really windy and quite chilly in Northern CO last night. I was wondering if we were going to see our first snow as well. It seems that we often get snow on Halloween, so it may still be coming.
Last year I dont think it snowed until late December Teresa and that is ok by me. 😀
Last year we had snow the first weekend of October. No snow here yet, but it is supposed to get below freezing tonight (if so, it’ll be the first time this season) … better pick and cover the tomatoes!
Oh brrr Hannah – save those tomatoes! 😀
Ohhhh I dread the snow! I’m like you, I would rather hibernate. Wish I could be a snow bird and go to Arizona or Florida during the winter!
The winter really saps my energy too and I get really depressed. Better stock up on the vit. D! Well have fun in the snow :0)
Its just cloudy and cold here, no snow yet!
Natalie
I just have no desire to do anything in the winter Natalie. I am all about home – work-groceries if I have to- home again.
I am not a cold weather person. 😀
Oh my goodness snow already, that does not bode well for the winter ahead does it?
It does not…. I make have to find a place to go stay for the next few months. I feel when i am older I will have to be a snow bird. 😀
I miss snow so much I’d gladly trade you. It’s in the 90’s this week in Florida.
I would trade Vicki – your weather is where I thrive. I need sun. 😀
I never touch snow in my life! For me, it’s cool! LOL
Darlyn if I could ship it to you I would. 😀
It was snowing at my house this morning too Sheila. The power went out sometime this morning too, but I managed to clean myself up enough to make it into work just to get a cup of coffee!
Oh yuck Jo-Jo! Are you freezing? I am? I am still drinking coffee to keep warm. I want a cup large enough for me to get inside. 😀
We have had torrential rain for the past two days and it is freezing. I would rather snow, because England comes to a comple standstill when it snows, so no school or work.
Vivienne – as much as I dislike snow……. I do like snow storms that render us unable to move. That means I have no guilt about getting things done. Instead those days are curl up with movies and books days…. put on the soup and chill…. and nap! 😀
I am so very jealous and it is the only thing I miss about Minnesota. Yesterday we had tornadoes, high winds and I have the A/C on. No snow anywhere in my future. Please enjoy it for me.
Jennifer I can not believe you miss the snow! I will try to enjoy it for you….. I can not promise, but I will try.
Hope you are feeling better.
I can’t believe you are having snow already!!!
We had some hellacious storms come through here yesterday… trees and power lines down and all that… we didn’t get too much just torrential rain, thank goodness!
We had some nasty winds yesterday Deb…. on my way home I seen a few branches on the roads. I missed most of it as I was safe in my office.
We had the wind here in northeast PA and then last night it rained buckets – buckets and all! 🙂 It’s been warm but now is turning cooler; the beautiful foliage is gone so it looks like winter except for a lack of snow.
I’m still trying to make friends with a stray cat who lives under our shed. Lord knows what it went through last night, but it hasn’t come out yet. I still can’t get that cat to come to me or let me get within 6′ of it even though I’ve been feeding it every day. Don’t even know if it’s boy or girl. This is getting maddening. Maybe it’s been mistreated?
Oh a stray cat Barbara! I have a weakness for animals – I hope it is ok!
Wow! I don’t think I could handle that Sheila. I don’t like being cold, especially in October. Come on down to Charlotte, NC, it’s 80 degrees today and the leaves are beautiful!
Jill I would love to! Thats my kind of weather. I have kind of ran to and from my car today…. avoiding the wet and cold as much as I can.
I love snow! Well, I do, except when it’s a work day… It’s a tretcherous enough drive to work as it is without snow adding to it!
We’ve just got wind & rain here. I’m hoping it’s going to be a nice end to the week (weather-wise) as I’m off up to the North Wales coast tomorrow for a concert… and it’s windy & cold enough there at this time of year without the driving rain too!
Nikki-ann, snow is only good when as Vivienne said above, it makes everything stand still…. businesses are closed, no work – only hanging out at home and oh look – there’s a book! 😀
Halloween of 6th grade we had snow on the ground in Two Harbors. For some reason I actually had a lot of fun with it. Hopefully for you though it will be melted by Sunday.
I remember a few years like that Ryan when the kids had to cover up their costumes with coats hats and mittens. 😀
Oh you’re so lucky! I LOVE snow!
Sorry about it messing with your halloween plans though – hope it clears up for you by then.
I am normally not a Halloween person but this year I had an idea and I really am looking forward to giving it a go 😀
Yes, snow and Halloween don’t seem to go together. It’s unseasonably warm (and wet) here in my corner of Virginia, though I expect that won’t last long.
And I don’t like driving in the snow Stephanie… I am not the most cautious driver so not being able to stop as quickly as I like is well…. not too safe.
Well, amazingly enough it is still warm out but the wind is constant. Tonight the temps are supposed to plummet. I’m like you…I hate winter!
All things I dont like Staci – cold, wind, snow, wet, slippery…. GAH!
😀
We’ve had both rain and sun here in Sydney (Australia) today. And a fairly mild temp of 21 degrees C.
So you had snow, and we’re stuck still in the 90s here in TX. On Halloween, it’s actually going to be only 80 degrees when we’re trick-or-treating! (can you hear the sarcasm?) I think we need a mix of our two weathers!
I agree Amanda – I would love some warmer weather for Halloween… and you could have it a bit cooler 🙂
