THIS STORY IS FOR EVERYONE
BUT NOT EVERYONE IS FOR THIS STORY
It is a dangerous tale of times past. A torrid love story full of deep seduction. A story of terrible longing and bold sacrifice.
Then as now, evil begins its courtship cloaked in light. And the heart embraces what it should flee. Forgetting it once had a truer lover.
With a kiss, evil will ravage body, soul, and mind. Yet there remains hope, because the heart knows no bounds.
Love will prove greater than lust. Sacrifice will overcome seduction. And blood will flow.
Because the battle for the heart is always violently opposed. For those desperate to drink deep from this fountain of life, enter.
But remember, not everyone is for this story.
I have enjoyed Ted Dekker off and on through the years. Some I have really enjoyed and others I have been left scratching my head (don’t even get me started on House). If you watched the book trailer and got a little sense of “Twilight”, that would be accurate. And before those of you who did not enjoy the Twilight series turn away from this review I am going to ask you to give me a minute…
or two.
Yes, while there is a “Twilightish” vibe in the background theme of this book, this book goes beyond to a darker book then Meyer’s wrote which is truly Ted Dekker’s signature style. The character’s are on fire with life breathed into them by non other than the master of Christian Suspense writing, Ted Dekker. The book will cause you to really think about sacrificial love and that is really what this book is about.
I am still processing all I read and I can safely say that this is one of the best books I have read by Ted Dekker in quite a while. Ted tapped into a vein (yes, pun intended) that I think will entice readers of many genres to this book.

Great giveaway! I read House, which I think he co-authored with Frank Peretti. I’m particularly drawn to this book because it sounds very different from all his others. Thanks for the chance to enter!

Diana please let me know what you think of Bride Collector. It was ok but not as good as I had hoped.
I’ve been a long time reader of Dekker also and have not loved every thing he’s put out but when you say this is one of the best books by him that you’ve read, then I’m jumping on this wagon!! 😀
YAY Staci! I have not loved everything either but I think he hit this one right on. I am really excited to hear what you think of it.
I have read a Ted Dekker book, but that was a long while ago. So long ago that I am trying desperately over the last sevearl months to remember the title to no avail. Suffice it to say, I do remember really liking the suspense within the book. I know that I will remember the title of book after I buy the book to read for the “first time.” LOL
I think it may have been Three.
I subscribe via email. 😀
I retweeted your tweet about this review and giveaway!
I have read “Black” and “Red” but none since then. I remember I really liked them!

Awesome giveaway! I’ve read all three in the Circle Trilogy (but not Green, the fourth one…in the “trilogy”…odd), and Blink and Boneman’s Daughters. Look forward to reading this one too!

I’ve been wanting to read The Bride Collector since your review of it. I’m not sure if I’m entering though since I’m assuming the shirts are only in women’s sizes.
This one does sound really good though and even if you use Twilight in your thought process I may give it a try anyway.
Ryan I think they are in mens sizes too – I will verify and I am entering you 🙂
haven’t read any but have The Bride Collector on audio; would like to try Burn.

Ok. I tweeter this (bluestockingbb). I also shared the link on facebook.
I have read Dekker. I read House, Kiss, Burn, Green, Chosen, Infidel, Renegade, Chaos, Lunatic, and Elyon.
I have Red, Black, and White. I want to get around to reading them soon.
I read The Boneman’s Daughter and The Bride Collector.
I read The Bonemans Daughter, very good. and watched Chosen on TV.
I am planning to read Black, Red, White…
Just jumped into Immanuel’s Vein’s last night and liking it so far!
What an intriguing book video. It hints at much but really doesn’t tell much. Great hook, which is of course the point.
I have not yet read Dekker. I have the audio of THE BRIDE COLLECTOR (thanks to Bookjourney) and we will be bringing it with us to listen to on our next trip (we have one this weekend and another in 2 weeks). Some of his other books that I have read the blurb on just sounded too creepy. I don’t mind good suspense, but there is a difference.
I liked the TWILIGHT series so am curious to see how IMMANUEL’S VEINS compares in plot. It sounds like it is a book that needs to be read, processed, then reread and processed a time or two to really get it all.
I have read all of Ted Dekker’s books and so has my oldest son. We love everything he has written.

I tweeted. Thanks for the giveaway.
I liked The Bride Collector but think I would like this one even more. 🙂

I have “Black” by Ted Dekker on my bookshelf. I’ve been meaning to take it down. 🙂 I keep seeing some interesting reviews about him.
I am a huge fan of Ted Dekker’s books and just finished this one and loved it! My son just finished the Circle series and I want him to read this one.
I am an email suscriber.
I haven’t read a lot of Ted Dekker before and I would have to say that Immanuel’s Veins was the best book that I didn’t like.
The writing is really quite superb: descriptive language, active plot, interesting characters all worked together. It was just all the lust, blood, and even more blood that just smothered me.
I wrote a review of this book on my own blog at http://www.tracysbooknook.com
-Tracy
Traci I like the way you put this. I have read quite a bit of Dekker too and some of his writing I really enjoy – and others, not so much. 🙂
What I’m wondering is how/where you got that shirt!! I want one. haha. Even though this contest is long over I have read A LOT of Dekker books:
Black, Red, White,Green, House, Immanuel’s Veins (re-reading it now), Chosen, Infidel,Renegade,Chaos, Lunatic,Elyon, and Burn…and some of Showdown. I think that’s all….I own most of them. Have yet to read them though.
