Good morning! I was mowing the lawn last night jamming out to my IPOD and mastering what I call lawn mower dancing and my neighbors fondly refer to as my need to pull a trailer behind me when I mow as I can not carry a tune. HA! They are so funny, and yes they really told me that – in a loving way. 😀
So I went to charge my IPOD last night and when my I Tunes pops up it tells me how many times I have listened to each song and I am amazed that the song I listen to the most out of my 124 songs I have downloaded is Jai Ho from the movie Slumdog Millionaire. If you have not seen this movie I highly recommend it. I watched it last fall and found it to be a brilliant look at what happens in some third world countries and adds a unique twist to it in this movie. If you have not seen it, please consider renting it and let me know what you think of it. I think it was one of the best movies I seen last year.
Here is the video – or the song anyway the way I listen to it on my IPOD. It is fast paced, a great work out song that I can even run to on the treadmill:
And this is more of a video to the song that shows more of what the movie is about:

My goodness! If I listened to that on my Cub Cadet, I can just imagine what the yard would end up looking like! 😀
LOL Barbara – yeah…. it is a bit fast but works great for biking, elliptical, and tread mill….
You must see the movie to get the passion behind the song. In fact I seen it was $5 at my local video store I think I will go buy it today.
My son and I watched this one at the movies and totally fell in love with it. So much so, that we purchased the novel it was based on!! I can’t carry a tune either but it doesn’t stop me from being a rock star!!! Sing On!!!!
I wish I would have seen it at the theater Staci. A friend recommended it to me when it came out on DVD.
I watched Slumdog Millionaire for the first time this month, and I just loved it. What a fantastic and original film! I’m an obsessive singer in the car, but I refuse to feel too bad for those who overhear me; they can deal. 🙂
I dont mind singing in the car anymore either Trisha…. I think maybe they think I have a blue tooth and I am chatting to a friend…. 😀
This was a terrific movie! I also workout to this song, in addition to many other Bollywood artists. The beat is enough to keep you going and there is something about the music that just radiates joy! Thank you for this post, the mental picture that I have of you dancing and mowing the grass to this song will keep me smiling all day!!
Its funny Sarah because my IPOD is filled with work out music and of all my long time favorites that get me moving… Jai Ho is one I will skip the rest for. 😀
LOL – yeah its a riding lawn mower too so you have to get the full visual.
One time I was mowing and my husband came up from our shop (its behind the house) and he was grinning. He said all the employees were coming in to clock out and they could hear me singing of all songs….. Womanizer by Brittany Spears…. GAH! Now there’s a visual – all our employees are men, we own an excavating company.
😳
Wow! What a great song Sheila! I couldn’t sit still when I listened to it. I immediately downloaded your version and the soundtrack version to my iPod. I already did an hour on the treadmill this morning but after listening to that I could go again! I need to watch the movie especially after our neighbors who are from Indian raved about it.
Oh that is awesome Jill! Definitely see the movie Jill. It is brilliant and I seen a lot in the movie of what I see when I go to Honduras… the kids, the poverty, unfortunately even the using of children to get Americans to give them money on the streets.
Wow, no wonder you’re always going at such a fast pace! lol
That music can certainly rev things up. I need it for my exercise routines!
Have a great day….
LOL Laurel – well, I dont think it is my theme song… but that does give me a blog idea…. 😀
You are so funny-I love cycling to this song. I also think of you everytime I hear Mama Mia.
LOL Esme – what a great time that was! 😀
I love to sing but try not to in front of other people because I don’t want to hurt their ears.
Kathy you made me laugh there! 😆
Now I want to hear you sing…. maybe next year at BEA!
Oh yeah this book is so fast paced it is one of the best work out songs! I agree with you that it was probably one of the best movies of last year too!
I totally loved it Amused and thought it was such a smart idea of how they told the story by using his memories, and how much he had learned about life through his hardships.
I thought Slulmdog Millionaire was really well done and it’s so interesting to read about the controversies afterward (regarding how the slum kids were treated). And that song ROCKS!
Helen I did not read the controversies…. I will have to look into that. Do you mean the actors or the movie – because the movie was sadly right on. I have seen it and it breaks my heart.
Oh and I received a book from you this week – thank you so much! I was beaming, 😀
I loved that movie and the soundtrack was a good part of the reason why. I’m going to have to pull it up again!
Lisa I am going up town in a bit here and I am purchasing it to watch again tonight. 😀
I have never heard this song before. I haven’t listened to the radio in the house in ages. In the car it is usually NPR or an audio book. It is really catchy. I have a habit of playing a song I like over and over and over ……… I’m already on my 4th play of this one. I’ll be coming back to this post just to listen to the song.
No IPOD so I can’t download it.
I’ve been known to put one of my STING CD’s in the car and set it on replay for a certain song and play it all the way to work. It actually has a similar rhythm to this song (Desert Rose).
It has a wonderful beat doesnt it Pat? I mowed the lawn to it today and then went for a bike ride listening to it as well.
Ooh, I wonder what songs I’ve listened to the most …
And I agree, Slumdog Millionaire is a really fun movie..
OOh find out and let me know! 😀
On Itunes when I charge my IPOD it lists the songs and how many times each were played…. its a little freaky how it knows that…LOL
Looks like the most-played song in my iTunes is Gone with Leaves from the Hero soundtrack. Agreed, how it knows this, hmm.
Oh, I meant to say: I’ve played this song 138 times, according to iTunes.
134 times for me… now I have to go to You Tube and see if I am familiar with your song. 😀
Have you seen the movie? The rest of the soundtrack isn’t far behind this one song…. Love it.
Just listened to it – gorgeous song – wow. I am not familiar with the movie, but it sounds like I something I would like to see.
I really like that song too.
What a beat huh Ladytink? It gets me moving thats for sure 😀
I feel left out hat I still have not seen this movie even though I know I would love it. I’m going to have to rectify that soon.
You will love it Ryan – a must see. 😀
