Good morning! Yes, another early morning post and if I could wrap my head around it, I would love all the meanderings to be this early so those who subscribe to this blog would have them when they check their morning emails. 😀
Today I am up early to head to Itaska which is a bout an hour and a half away for a 75 mile bike ride. Today is supposed to be beautiful so I am excited for this ride – and it is my friend Wendy’s first BIG RIDE! I am excited for her and hoping that she will find a love for the rides and the people as much as I do.
I will be gone most of today, Al and I are meeting some friends tonight at an annual street dance and tomorrow, oh that’s a whole other story.
I am guest posting (again) at Trisha’s lovely blog Eclectic Eccentric – and this time it is about Minnesota Festivals. My only hint… is this picture. You will have to read the post at Trisha’s for more about that. 😉

In bookish news – and this is DANGEROUS NEWS for book lovers….. Bookcloseouts is having a summer sale and if you know anything about Bookcloseouts you know the books are gorgeous and the prices are right. The sale is $1.99 for paperbacks, and the hard covers are $2.99. AND they have some good titles… so if you are looking for gifts, or for yourself – this is worth checking out.
Oh – and for those of you who are thinking, “SHE’S GETTING MORE BOOKS??????” I am not – I am just letting you know about the sale. 😀

Thanks for the info on the book sale. I headed over and have my shopping cart full of books to give away during the impending holiday season. Who am I kidding?!?!? There are a few in there for me as well. I hope you have a fantastic ride today! Enjoy the fresh air!
Thanks Sarah – it was a perfect day and now thanks to my bike jersey I have a lovely bright red farmers tan…. 😀
Bookcloseouts has wonderful books at great prices – you just have to be willing to dig through all they offer. Glad to see you found a few treasures!
Tee hee…that sale is so tempting…so so tempting…if only I could find a place to put MORE BOOKS!
Exactly Andrea – with three successful Library sales this year, other than special review requests I am backing off a bit 😀
(seriously – I said this with a straight face. )
😛
In some ways I have a hard time believing that you’re just simply passing this book sale info along, without testing the waters first …
:p
Hannah – it’s scary that you know me that well…LOL….
I did look a bit – but quickly decided I was way too tired to browse through all the pages of the sale and I truly have no need for any books right now. 😛
I looked through a few pages, too, but also managed to refrain! 😀
Yay for the pigs! You are really tempting me with that book sale, but I think if I buy any more books before diminishing my obscene TBR piles, the hubby may divorce me. 🙂
Thank you so much for guest posting while I was gone. I’m not fully back into the swing of things – my house and my body have yet to recover – but I’m working on it.
Have fun on the bike ride!
Thanks Trisha – and thanks for letting me host at your blog – it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed reading the other guest posts as well 😀
Sales are certainly tempting, aren’t they? Lately I’ve been drawn to the bargain counter at the Mother Ship.
Have a great ride….and I’m still wrapping my head around “street dance.” It sounds wonderfully fun and colorful.
Laurel certainly you have been to a street dance? They block off a section of road or a parking lot and have a band play. They usually have food and a lot of people show up.
I guess it could be considered a colorful – small town event 😀
Have a great day of cycling!! The pigs..too funny! And I’m staying far away from the closeout site!!! 😀
LOL Staci! 😀
Hope you enjoy your ride. I’m going to ignore the news about the book closeout so I don’t go crazy and buy too many books! ha
Way to be strong Kathleen! 😀 I post the link because that is how I originally found out about Bookcloseouts this past January. Somebody put the link on Twitter and I think I spend the next 4 hours browsing their winter book sale. At that time the books were .99 cents a piece and I had a blast shopping the books and when they arrived they were in perfect condition.
I’m passing on the book sale, I still haven’t organized all my books or put together my new bookshelf. I’ve still got TONS of books in stacks on the floor. I need to take a day…or four, and do nothing but my computer/book room.
Hope you and Wendy have a great ride!
Thanks Vicki – we had an awesome ride. 😀
Thanks for the headsup! Ooh, a Sherilyn Kenyon book for $3!
Have fun Ladytink – but be careful it is an addicting site 😀
Seventy-five miles….Yowwwwwzzzza! I get tired driving 75 miles. 🙂 Thanks for the heads up on the book sale. I’ve never seen that website. Like I need more books! 🙂
If you look through the books Jill you can find treasures – this past spring I found some great titles…. it is a lot of browsing though. 😀
O am going to check out the sale, but am hoping I don’t find anything I can’t live without. I already have way too many books.
OOH Pat I hope you do ok – I now feel like an enabler. 😀
