So what is happening at the DeChantal household this morning?
Packing. Working out. Laundry. Cooking. Cleaning. Call to Grandpa. And maybe a bit of mowing too if the weather holds out for me. 🙂
I leave tonight at 5 pm for Minneapolis where I will meet up with Reagan from Miss Remmers Reviews. We are staying overnight there to catch our 6 am flight to New York. I may need to pause a moment to read that last sentence….
………………………………………………………….
Wow. Three books are making the journey with me. Yes, that is conservative of me. 😉
Annie Freeman’s Fabulous Traveling Funeral by Kris Radish. This is our book club read for June and it sounds like the perfect plane/hotel read. (click on picture if you want to read more about the book)
The Threadbare Heart by Jennie Nash arrived in the mail yesterday. I have heard good things about this one! (If you want to know more about the book click on the picture)
The Opposite of Me by Sarah Pekkanen. I won this authors NYC package giveaway and while I have seen the book around I have not read it yet. As I am meeting Sarah in New York, I want to have read this. I think it looks like a story line I really will enjoy! (Click on pic for more details on this book)
So that’s what is in my carry on. I still am prepping reviews and a tour for next week that will continue to go on as planned. I will also have Lap Top with me so I hope to give you morning updates of what is happening at BEA.

Three books will be plenty, because you won’t have much time to read! I plan to take The Opposite of Me with me too!
Kathy – I looked at the auction yesterday and looks like you won the time with Sarah as well – woo hoo! 😀
When I went to BEA in LA, I only took one book and it was plenty, because I acquired more at the convention.
I am so jazzed for you! Woo-hoo!
Thanks Laurel – I just cant wait!
Have a fabulous trip! I just requested all three of your carry-on choices from the library. Isn’t it the truth that there are some books that just lend themselves to a plane trip or hotel stay? I always want a book for a flight that I can get into immediately and become engrossed–a pageturner. I always worry, “Will I have enough reading material…will this be enough?” (like I can’t find a bookstore or an airport kiosk to buy reading materal if needed!?!)
Linda – LOL. I usually bring 6 to 8 books with me so this is interesting. 🙂 Of course… I have my IPOD too with a book on it 🙂
Have a wonderful trip to BEA.
Today and tomorrow will be flower bed days. I stopped at Lowe’s yesterday afternoon. They has a bunch of their annuals in 4 and 6 inch pots marked down to 50 cents. I hadn’t even started my beds yet this year, except for weeding so it was perfect. Had to have my husband meet me with the pickup truck. I filled two carts – 50+ plants. I did some weeding last night and will spend today and tomorrow getting them in the ground. The big problem is it is so dry, the ground is hard.
The other fun thing will be this afternoon. Our historic town is having its first annual LAVENDER FESTIVAL. Yesterday, a crew from the FOOD CHANNEL set up. They are filming on of their food truck challenge shows. I wish we had known and gone last night. It will be swarming with people today now that the word is out. Good for the festival organizers.
Pat have fun planting- I love to do that. Something about getting into the dirt! 🙂
Lavender Festival? That sounds wonderful – have a greta time Pat!
Have a safe trip and a fun filled time!
Thanks Vicki!
Annie Freeman’s Fabulous Traveling Funeral was a wonderful read! I loved it. A friend of mine thought it was too much of a downer, but any optimist will see the wonderfulness of celebrating a life well lived.
Hope you have tons of fun in NY!!!
As for your books–I thought the Kris Radish book was kind of blah and predictable. I am anxious to see what you think. I am adding The Opposite Of Me to my TBR list!
OH good Julie – I am pretty sure I will have a post and hopefully an authors review on Opposite Of Me!
Hi Sheila !
Its going to be a long weekend for me. Next week I’ve got another exam coming up and the heat is killing me……got to study whole weekend in short. However, books will be on the menu as usual ; I’ve got two from my local library. One is ‘ Red Square’ by Edward Topol and ‘ The Eastern Question’ by Martin Walker which I am chewing on as I type. Just call me the multi-tasked book freak !
Have loads of fun on your trip !
YOu are busy Fiza!
Have a great trip and I can’t wait to hear all about BEA!
Thanks Zia!
Have a safe trip! I have The Opposite of Me in my TBR stack. I might have to move it closer to the top!
OH good Jill – I started it while waiting in line at Barnes and Noble today 🙂
Have a great trip, Sheila!
Thanks laughingstars 🙂
I hope you have a great trip, and enjoy the books. 🙂 We went to a wedding on Saturday and I took my book to read on the hour drive – Dante’s Journey. Seeing how I have not got much reading done over the last week. I am hoping to get more done in the up coming week.
I hope your book was super Melissa 🙂
So, have you read them yet? I’m guessing you’ll be pretty busy for the rest of the week at this point. 🙂
I am flying through The Opposite of me Hannah. Next up will be the Funeral one – it has small print and may take me a bit longer to get through 🙂
