There’s a saying at Hollywood station that the full moon brings out the beast–rather than the best–in the precinct’s citizens. Can’t really remember a specific detective but how about Tempe Brennan from Kathy Reich’s books? You know- the one the TV series Bones was based on. She’s a forensic anthropologist so she kind of pieces things together like a detective would. Name of the book is Death Dujour.

A new detective I “met” this year is Chief Inspector Armand Gamache of the Louise Penny mystery novels taking place in Canada. Really enjoyed the first one I read.

Mine would be a female, Lindsay Boxer of The Women’s Murder Club series by Patterson and specific favorite book would be the 1st in the series called 1st To Die.
