How pathetic is this blog this week? 🙂 I mean seriously… the last few days all I have had time to post is my meanderings….. today I have a low key afternoon – I should be able to catch up on the review that should have went up yesterday, giveaways that need to end…
ANYWAY…. This morning I am driving Chance to school and it is 28 degrees. 28! I am wearing a long sweater jacket that I am hoping makes me look super cool like Neo in The Matrix (but of course more feminine).
I think it is funny that 28 degrees today is nothing like 28 degrees in March. Now I am wining that I should have started the Durango earlier so it would have been warm when we got in. I have the heat on and the windowns up tight. I complain all the way out of the driveway about the cold and how Minnesota and I are not friends at this time of year.
On the flip of that…. after a long Minnesota winter of temperatures dipping way below zero, icy roads, shoveling sidewalks and the decks…. 28 degrees in March is like a heat wave. I am outside that time of year in capris and a t shirt…. loving the crisp after winter sun and praising all things that are green or soon to be green.
I took a picture of this gorgeous tree on my way through town this morning…. perhaps looking at it occasionally will help me get through the long cool (who am I kidding?) COLD days ahead….
Whats the weather like in your corner of the world?

And here I thought the upcoming high of 35 was terrible news. 28!!! ouch!!! I am completely with you – here in Nebraska 28 in October is a completely different 28 in February. Oh well, ’tis the season. Have a great day and stay warm!
We are not quite down to 28 degrees during the day yet. We are still up around 36 in the morning when I come to work.
But that tree is absolutly gorgeous. I love that red! I have been watching our trees here and I’m starting to love the colors. I am about ready to make a trip to the mountains and walk around to look at the trees and beautiful scenery.
Hmmm…don’t hate me, but it’s currently a whopping 79 degrees and sunny here in Tennessee! I’m wearing jeans and a t-shirt as we speak.
That’s a gorgeous tree! We haven’t seen any that brilliant yet here in central Nebraska. We’ve got a funny warm day predicted today — 53! — but then highs in the 30s Saturday and Sunday, with a 60 percent chance of snow tomorrow.
I am down here in the Twin Cities, where it was 23 this morning. And it’s funny, because I said the exact same thing to my husband this morning. I told him, “We’re sitting here complaining about the temperature knowing full well that if this was January or February we would be thrilled!” 🙂
Lezlie
Sheila, I think it has been a lazy week-I had trial all week-my car battery died yesterday-stood outside like a roasting pig in the sun. always attractive in work clothes-thankfully I had driving shoes to get out of the darn heels. I was so tired all I could do was reheat some French Onion Soup up-the thought of posting or working was all too much for my poor brain. But the weekend is here.
That tree is beautiful. We are a bit behind you in the colors down here near Mpls, but it won’t be long!
HI Julie – I am heading that way next weekend for the Women Of Faith conference. I will get to see the tress then., hopefully some have turned.
It’s a balmy 39 degrees this morning in NW Oregon. Our trees are turning that incredible shade of red now too. Funny I was just taking pictures of tress while waiting at my daughter’s middle school yesterday.
I love the fall trees Zia. We really had a pretty crappy summer too…. not many really great sunny days. I feel a bit cheated this year. 🙂
I’m sorry, but I’m confused – are we talking 28 celcius or 28 fahrenheit?
Even after LOVING 3 freezing winters straight in Montreal, I’m still never out in capris and a t-shirt in 28 F.
28 fahrenheit 🙂 In Minnesota we are easily (or I guess I should say I am) happy to be in 20’s and 30’s after the winter is mellowing out.
Okay, you will certainly hate me! Here in Fresno, CA, the temp. is 53 degrees at 8 in the morning and a high of 81 is expected!
This is my favorite time of year here, because FINALLY the triple digits of summer are behind us. Or maybe not. Because every once in awhile, another hot day will sneak in!
As for blogging…I’ve noticed a decline in posts all around the blogosphere in the last couple of days. I finally played Balderdash again yesterday and couldn’t find anyone else playing! Or Throwback Thursday, or anything! Boo-hoo.
My Balderdash is at http://laurelrainsnow.wordpress.com
On my Web of Tyranny Chronicles at http://weboftyranny.blogspot.com, I created a blog button people can grab.
It took me awhile, following detailed instructions that Michelle at The True Book Addict gave me (you know how I rely on the help of other bloggers! lol), so check it out…if you get a chance!
Thanks!
81 today Laurel? Nice! I could live with that year around. 🙂
That is pretty darn cool for October, but look what it did to bring out the beauty of that maple tree (??)
It was in the high 50’s this am as I was out for my walk. Have a great day.
Hi Diane- yes that is cold for October – even for us. It is mid 40’s now that it is afternoon. I really should take my bike out for a spin before that is no longer an option this year.
Gorgeous tree! Our trees are just starting to turn, so they only have a few yellow highlights now. It’s currently 60F, but was 53F this morning. I was complaining that it was too cold today until I read your post, so I’ll count my blessings instead! *L*
Thanks – I seen that tree yesterday while driving Chance to school but didnt have my camera ready. Today I was ready and ust stopped in the street and shot a couple pics.
Over here in England we have had torrential rain for the last four days. It is a little boring now. Is it really that cold in winter in Minnesota? How do you cope? It gets cold over here, but not that cold.
HI Vivienne – I think it gets harder every year to cope. Our yearly Hunduras trip breaks it up a bit. This year we leave the end of this month. Weather will be 80’s there so that will help. We plan to go to Florida in February and that helps too. Winters in Minnesota are long and COLD. The “S” word is already in the forecast over the next few days and will eventually drop to about 20 below zero. I really hate it and there is not a whole lot I hate so those are strong words. 🙂
Rainy and cold here in St. Louis for the past 2 days but definitely not 28! More like 55 🙂
HI Lynne – we had a lot or rain last week… almost every day. Today has that look of a sunny warm day until you step out into it…. 🙂
28 degrees! We’re still in the 90’s!!!!
Hi Christina – 90’s is my favorite! I love high temps! We wont see those now until next July
Wow, 28? We had a few mornings in the high 40’s this week in Delaware, but today’s it’s about 80 and sunny! It’s been mostly beautiful fall weather this week, with one REALLY windy day. I love fall, but I’m definitely not ready for winter yet!
Sue
HI Sue… Delaware has 80 huh? That would be ideal! 🙂
We have cooled down to a whopping 90 degrees here in Phoenix, AZ. It was finally cool enough that we could go to the zoo without melting. Having just moved from Salt Lake City, UT I am still trying to adjust to it being October and not wearing sweaters. 🙂
90 degrees? Do you want to be part of the book blogger exchange program and I will go stay there? LOL I love warm weather!
And here we are with the AC still on and in shorts sweating.
J Kaye – I wish! I love summer, sun, and beautiful green days!
