Mmmm hmmm. Silence. Glorious silence.
Chance stayed at a buddies home last night, Al got up early to go to an auction. I am in the house alone except for Coffee Cup who never has to much to say anyway. 😉
These moments lately are far too few and far between in our household. I am usually up and running around by this time, taking Chance to school, or going into the office… but not today. Today I am looking at the books I had wanted to read this week and I am thrilled to say that I am on the last few pages of the last one out of this group, VIOLA In Reel Life by Adriana Trigiani. I am enjoying this read and earlier this week over at Book Club Girl’s we had a live chat with this author.

I’m marooned. Abandoned. Left to rot in boarding school in the dust bowl of Indiana like the potato we found in the cupboard in our Kitchen in Brooklyn after months of searching for it. It was only when the entire kitchen began to smell like a root cellar from Pilgrim days that we figured out why – and when we finally found the poatato it was soft, rotten. and breeding itself with white barnacles with totally disgusting green tips.
Don’t you just love that? By the time I finished those words I could clearly smell the potato that had seen better days and the description of the white barnacles… very visual. I cant wait to review this book.
My plan today is to complete the book, clean the house a bit, maybe depending on when Chance gets home – maybe take in a movie this afternoon and tonight Al and I have a retirement party to go to for a guy he used to work with at UPS.
Current status for me? I am up but stil in the p.j.’s… and may stay that way for at least another hour… 🙂 Coffee Cup and I are on our 2nd cup, the weather is cool and the sky is overcast. Perfect reading weather.

Book Journey 
Good morning, although by the time you read this, it may be afternoon! It is just before 8 a.m. here and I have been up since 4:30, my usual time these days! When I get up at 6, I am sleeping in!
But it’s the coolest part of the day, early in the morning, and I’ve been tweaking sites, doing a blog post, and visiting other blogs.
Fun stuff. Although I did read the newspaper and I took my shower and got dressed (about a half hour ago!), so I’m ready for the day.
Looking forward to having my 12-year-old granddaughter for the weekend, and I have the first three Nancy Drew books from my newest collection—hoping to entice her to read them. Although she seems to prefer Harry Potter.
We’ll go to a movie, too, I think.
So it should be a fun weekend! Hope yours works out the way you want.
Have fun with the grand daughter – I didnt make it to the movie – kind of lazed out in the afternoon and really got into my current read. What movie did you go see?
I read and enjoyed Viola in Reel LIfe last week. Don’t you love Trigiani? I’ve read everything she’s written. One of my fav to-to authors. We’re cloudy and gray with the threat of rain on the Wisconsin coast of Lake Michigan. I think you’re almost a full day ahead of us with weather. Enjoy the weekend!

Morning! I think this will be the first Saturday in some time I won’t be doing anything or going anywhere. The cold has taken over my house and myself so my plans today are to warm soup on the stove all afternoon and read while having a game or something on the TV. Anything else requires too much energy I don’t have lol.
Zia those are my favorite! First saturdays are my favorite day of the week anyway – but if I can get one with no commitments as well….. that is icing on the cake!

Had to laugh at the silence…for that reason, I have an office outside of the house. Okay, so technically it was an outside storage room, but not any more. 😉

Sounds like you had a great morning. I stayed in my pjs for as long as I could but had to work through most of today. Wasn’t as productive as I had hoped, but it’s difficult to do much on the weekend.

Esme, I have to tell you when I read this in the morning I had no idea what you were talking about. I actually went to your blog to see if it was something you had blogged on. It wasnt until I went through my emails and found on my Goggle alert the interview…LOL
Can’t wait to dip into Trigiani’s YA debut! I’ve loved her adult novels!
Julie, I havent read anything else by her yet but on your recommendationI am going to see what else she has written. I think I need to see how her writing compares.
