Another great giveaway thanks to Valerie at Hachette Book Group. I am able to offer here a chance to win a copy of Beat The Reaper to two lucky readers.
Giveaway is now closed as of Oct 28, 2009
Full Description
Pietro “Bearclaw” Brnwna is a hitman for the mob, with a genius for violence, a well-earned fear of sharks, and an overly close relationship with the Federal Witness Relocation Program. More likely to leave a trail of dead gangsters than a molecule of evidence, he’s the last person you want to see in your hospital room.
Nicholas LoBrutto, aka Eddy Squillante, is Dr. Brown’s new patient, with three months to live and a very strange idea: that Peter Brown and Pietro Brnwa might-just might-be the same person …
Now, with the mob, the government, and death itself descending on the hospital, Peter has to buy time and do whatever it takes to keep his patients, himself, and his last shot at redemption alive. To get through the next eight hours-and somehow beat the reaper.
Spattered in adrenaline-fueled action and bone-saw-sharp dialogue, BEAT THE REAPER is a debut thriller so utterly original you won’t be able to guess what happens next, and so shockingly entertaining you won’t be able to put it down.
Here is the book trailer…

Dummy me, I’m not reminded of any book or movie. I looked closely at the book video.(:
No….. I got a vibe out of it but it may have been just me…. or maybe that background music…LOL
I just tweeted for Beat The Reaper.

Ok I’m not outright reminded of any book or movie but if I had to think of one it would be Infected by Scott Sigler. The reason – Infected is bad ass and so it that trailer. I loved it and now I must read the book : ) Count me in please.

Hmm… I don’t think this clip really reminds me of anything either.
It had to be just me then…. LOL

No need to enter me. I have this one on my shelf! Again, thanks for the Youtube!
Although this was a serious scenario, it reminded me of Mash, because they were always doing crazy things in the operating room.

For a gut reaction, I’ll say ER. Cut away shots to and from the OR to other places, you know! Thanks for the chance to win!
Didn’t expect the shooting in the OR…Don’t know what book/movie it reminds me of. Would LOVE to read this thriller. Count me in.

I would have to say Mash. Just the unexpected things that were going on seemed to bring that to mind.
thanks for this great giveaway. Incredible trailer. House and the doctor.
I think of the thriller version of Grey’s Anatomy. Nice trailer. 😀

Good response!
This clip reminded me of the television show “In Plain Sight.” It was just the first thing that came to mind.

Well, it reminded me of ER — until the surgeon took the gun out and shot the bad guys.
LOL…. yes… I can see ER in this. And a little bit of MASH…
Reminded me of Hawthorne… minus the gun!
The clip reminds me of “The Godfather” when Michael is trying to save his dad (the Godfather) in the hospital from hit men after his dad has been shot almost to death. Of course, there’s always “House”, too…you never know what he will do.
I’ll post your link to my Facebook page. Hope that counts…not a tweeter yet…:>
Hi Cecelia, thats cool – I like the Facebook link idea! 🙂 Go for it and yes I will count that!
You’ll think I’m crazy, but my first thought when you asked was MASH – no similarity at all except for the operation! Anyway, I would love to win this book. It looks so awesome.
Hey Booklogged – no not crazy at all… i can see that. It is fun to see what everyone sees…. kind of like reading a book right? We all see something different.
I just twittered about this giveaway. My fingers are crossed.
It doesn’t remind me of anything but I’d love to read the book!
Initially it reminded me of the hospital scene in Halloween II.

I thought of Grey’s Anatomy right away
It reminded me of RUSH HOUR 3. Crazy huh?

NOt crazy Mel – I can see that!
I’d like to enter, sounds good
It reminds me of ‘Mash’ TV program beccause of the lunacy.
I can’t think of any law enforcement drama that this clip simulates. It seems to remind others of various medical drama, but none of the medical dramas are associated with both danger and suspense.

The clip initially reminded me of the old Emergency TV show, but no movie comes to mind.
I have to say House because that’s what came to mind first. However, if it was a house episode, this would be where he would wakeup and you’d realize it was just a dream sequence. Looks interesting enough to capture my attention.

Hi Renee – thats a great comparison
