Morning Meanderings…

I am up.  Check.a big improvement

Coffee Cup in hand.  Check.

I am doing a bit of catching up this morning on some recent visitors to One Persons Journey Through a World of Books.  Thank you to all of you who have stopped by – I love company!  I have had quite a few new visitors lately and that is so exciting so I want to be sure that I visit each of them as well.

This morning, actually just moments ago, I went on to the author Laura Binghams’ Alvor site as I had just finished her book up a little over a day ago (see review here) and wanted to see what was new for her.  I was surprised and touched that she had a post up about my review.

What Laura wrote… well, it made me tear up.  She wrote such nice things about me and the review.  I tend to forget that authors are sending their book out in to the world, much like we would send a child to school for the first time.  Hoping they are liked, they make friends, and that they are as wonderful to others as we  the parents know they are. Laura, you need not worry.  🙂

I hope you can take a minute today to stop by Laura Bingham’s Alvor site.  And I hope that when you see this book in the stores you will consider it,  if not for yourself… for that niece or nephew, daughter or son, or friend (of any age) who loves fantasy.  They will thank you for it.

  1. Good morning, Sheila! It must be three hours later where you are—or perhaps two?—I always get some of those states confused…the difference between Central and Eastern time. Are you Central or Eastern?

We’re Pacific, of course, and it’s 6:25 a.m. here. I’ve been up for a couple of hours—crazy, I know!—because this is the only cool part of the day!

I had to stay on the computer until I saw your Morning Meanderings post, so now I can go work out on the treadmill for awhile!

  2. Central time here Laurel. It is currently 8:25 am…. have to work at 9 and as usual have totally procrastinated on getting ready as uh….. yeah I am blogging and reading blogs 🙂

  3. That’s so great that she found your review so wonderful. (: I can’t imagine sending my book, my words out to the world to be reviewed — it would be terrifying.

At any rate, I’m stopping by because I left you two awards on my blog. They were passed to me, and I had to pass them along as well; you were someone I thought of. Because you’ve been so kind and helpful to me! (: So, thanks! I see you already have one of them, and it’s really not a big deal, but I wanted to share.

    Thanks again!

    Rachel

  4. My husband came home for lunch and told me to check out your blog- he has super fast internet and keeps up with things so much better than I do.

Thanks for your words. After sending my five year olds to school- I couldn’t agree more with your analogy… My daughter waving out the bus window smiling and my son sitting alone with a frown in the row across. He just wishes the girls would sit by him instead of his sister.

It would be incredible if you were right about how this book ends up.

  5. Awww. This post makes me smile. I think that’s another great thing about reading, blogging, and talking about the two – it brings us all closer together and make us appreciate the work that’s put into all of these things. I’m glad that you’re getting more visitors to your wonderful blog-it’s very well deserved!

Hmmmm... what do you think?
