Morning Meanderings… AUDIO Morning!

Good morning.

No, not feeling better.  Still coughy…. and yeah, coffee.

Yesterday after work I made a little trip to my library for strictly one reason…..

audio.

I have cleaned myself out of cd audio.  I have plenty for my IPOD, but I have a CD player in the kitchen and one in the jeep that need to be fed and I have went through all I own, all I had borrowed, and all I purchased recently.

It was really an audioergency.

Friday I am driving to our cabin and I think hubby is planning on taking his motorcycle so we can tool around the back roads when we are there.  This translates to – 3 1/2 hours in the Durango ALONE… which really means – AUDIO TIME!

Like a kid in the candy store I perused the shelves and finally came out with these:

I have to get ready for work so I do not have time to link them to synopsis… but there they are in all their glory!  On an average day – I listen to three audio … one in my car as I drive around, the one in my bathroom (IPOD) while I get ready for work, and the one in my kitchen while I make meals.

Tomorrow I have two audio winners to announce from last week.

  1. You made me laugh –> “It was really an audioergency.”

Have fun at your cabin this weekend!

  2. Hope you feel better soon andi have no clue as to how you can listen to so many at a time…it profoundly amazes me…

  3. Audio-emergency! That’s one for the books…oops, not books, audio!

I’ve read and loved The Big Stone Gap. I love the Perri O’Shaughnessy series, and Keeper of the Keys is kind of a prequel to the rest of the books in the series. Some did not enjoy this one as much as later books, but if you approach it with minimal expectations, or if you haven’t read the other ones, you should enjoy it.

    Listen away….

  4. I am suddenly on audio-overload! I finally figured out how to load mp3cds to the iPod and now have a ton of Lee Child which I love – and then Shelf Awareness just sent me 3 audiobooks for review (my first in audio). Wowza :)

  5. LOL…about alone time in the durango. I feel the same way in my malibu. I am listening to the the Heather Graham Bone Island series.
I just don’t have to drive as far to work as I used to which is a good thing mileage wise but I miss my audio time.

  6. Hi Sheila

Can’t figure out how I missed this blog, but you’re not in my feeder. I’m a HUGE audio book fan, and love the way you multi-task with different devices. I’m also a coffee addict, so I’m looking forward to starting my day with your very upbeat posts. Good luck with your nomination.

  7. It looks like you found some good ones. I put The Knitting Circle in the mail to you on Monday – hopefully you’ll have it before the week’s out.

  8. Audio heaven! My family think I am nuts that I have four audios going, one in bathroom, kitchen, car and on iPod. I loved the Great and Terrible Beauty series. Enjoy.

  9. Hope you feel better soon! These are some great audio picks. Can’t wait to see what you think of them.

  10. I have read Perri O’Shaughnessy amd I like her…err, them. Night is good. The others I haven’t heard of so I’ll wait to hear your reviews!

  11. Hope you feel better before you leave for the cabin!! Sounds like you’re going to have fun! I used to love riding motorcycles, but haven’t for many years!

  12. I pretty much get all my audio from the library. I have a print copy of A Great and Terrible Beauty that I have been meaning to read for a few years. I bought it new because I had to have it, then didn’t end up reading it anyway. Hope you are feeling better!

  13. I listened to the first two in the car too :) Night was amazing.
